The atmosphere when you first walk in is very upscale. The overall environment is very clean and is very kid friendly. The staff was friendly. The only hold back was that we were not aware of the make appointment only process. However, they were able to fit in pretty quickly And our hairdresser did an amazing job with our difficult child. Some people complain about the price but I personally think it's a deal because they know how to cut children's hair professionally even with a difficult child. I was referred to this location from a close friend of mine, whose child did their first hair cut experience here. They have a first haircut package that includes a lock of hair, a photo of their haircut, included with a card with their name on it. The waiting area has a tv with a movie on, and some toys. The hair dresser came in and introduced herself, and interacted with my son so he was acquainted with her before he sat in the chair. Some of the seats are specially designed such as a train, plane, or racecar for the smaller kids, while the The older kids have a traditional seat. While in my sons train, there were toys available so he was able to play, and the same movie on in front of him that was in the waiting room. The hair dresser was very interactive with my son during the whole process to keep him calm and keep him smiling. The process didn't take long at all and before you know it, my son was looking like a big kid with his new haircut! I was very impressed with the process, and I will return for his future haircuts! I went there for a first haircut bundle yesterday and our stylist huffed and puffed whenever my 2 year old moved her head, on top of not being able to give her a proper haircut... all I asked for was for a long bang right above her eyes and we were given a mess of crocked lines, Chi was just terrible! The reason I'm giving 2stars is because Jasmine was able to step in and try fixing that mess, but unfortunately too much had already been removed. I took my son here last week as we have tried several times to get his haircut and it has never turned out so well. I figured this place specializes in squirmy toddlers so if they can't cut his hair then no one can. First, I made an appointment online a few days in advance. It was not difficult to get an appointment, but they are done in 15 minute increments. This means they book the appointments close together so if you are even a few minutes late you will have to wait. We had an appointment at 4:15. I got to the parking lot at 4:19 which considering I-4 and Sand Lake I thought was pretty good, but parking here was extremely limited and so by the time I found parking and got the toddler inside it was 4:25 so we had to wait. It was my fault and I had called ahead to let them know I was running behind. They were really nice and assured me they would fit me in as soon as possible, but traffic and parking are good things to keep in mind when you make an appointment as both can be difficult. They had a waiting room with a train table, coloring table, books and cartoons. Woo Hoo! That was helpful. After about 20 minutes they called my son's name and let him pick his car. He chose the police car. They also had a race car, train, and airplane. So let me tell you the brilliance of this place. He's in a police car with a steering wheel. They have magnets for him to place on the car and the steering wheel. They have animal crackers. They have Disney cartoons. For the electric razor to trim the edges of his hair our stylist brought out a little massager that buzzed and it lit up and he didn't even notice her buzzing around his ears, an action that caused a full on melt down during his first haircut. Amazing. This place knows how to distract a wiggly toddler for a haircut. They've got it down to an art. They even let him pick a toy from a toy chest at the end! His haircut was $19.95, but we got a $1 off by checking in on Yelp! It's maybe a little high, but I've tried twice to get his hair cut at a regular salon and he threw such a fit that basically they were able to cut a little off around his ears or face so he could see and didn't charge me because they didn't feel like they were able to do anything. Here, he got a full on haircut. I'm not completely satisfied with the haircut he got. It looks good almost everywhere, except my son has the worst cowlick ever and I warned the stylist about it. I asked for her to leave that part long so that it lays flat and cut the back, sides, and front. She gave him a traditional little boys haircut which would be adorable if he didn't have said cowlick. As it is he looks like he has a rooster comb at the back of his head and I try to put hair gel on it, but again squirmy toddler. So I will go back since they did such a good job keeping him calm and entertained, but I will have to be more vocal about his cowlick. read more

My step daughter had a birthday party at Pigtails & Crewcuts recently and the staff did a wonderful job. Everything ran smoothly and was organized. The girls at the party had a great time getting dolled up and they loved the dance party at the end. Everything was included. All we had to do was show up. It was a shorter party, only 1.5 hours, sometimes shorter can be good. It was also very pricey. But in the end, you get to enjoy the party with your child instead of running around like crazy playing hostess and wrangling children. It looked like loads of fun, everyone was happy. I can really say i love this place. I was in the neighborhood just this Wednesday and I've been wanting to get my sons haircut but I've been so nervous since he doesn't really behave so well. So then i found this place:)..... let me just say it's AMAZING (not being dramatic) my stylist chantel was really good with helping me keep him relaxed and so was the young lady at the front desk who came with bubbles and literally had him stay shut after (Good idea with the bubbles). Everyone was really helpful and had really bubbly personalities. I thought it was so cute when the receptionist told me "Thank you for coming in, Happy Mother's Day." We started taking our son here because we wanted people that were good with kids, especially active little boys! Every person we've had had been great! I think we've gone 4 times in the last few years. We liked to keep my son's hair longer, but we need it to stay out of his eyes too. Particularly, this last visit was unplanned. Grandma tried to be helpful & cut our sons hair. Let's just say it did not go well. We're knew it was going to be shorter than we preferred because of the disaster, so we explained that we needed it even, and as long as we could have it. The women did a great job evening everything out and keeping it as long as she could. We really appreciated her listening to us & what we wanted and applied it as best she could. Have been taking my daughter here since she had her first haircut at age 2.5. She loves it and we have never had an issue with her being scared or upset. The staff is polite and nice and honestly, they have the patience of saints. I don't know how they manage - 8 out of 10 children in this place are little, terrified, and screaming. The chairs are special airplanes or fire engines and they have TV's on the wall playing children's movies that the kids can watch, but still, the vast majority of the kids just wail for mommy or daddy. In spite of the writhing, screaming bodies, the stylists still manage to do good jobs on the kids. They put a special bow in my daughter's hair for free. Check in on yelp and get $1 off. read more
