I am updating my review to shout out my new favorite instructor - Alma! She started recently and her Wednesday morning class has been part of my regular routine this year. While I love challenging HIIT workouts, my health coach suggested that I add Pilates / yoga into my routine at least once a week to help with stretching and also the mind body connection. Enter Pilates strong- it's a reformer workout and I absolutely love it. What I love about taking Alma's classes is she gets to know what areas you need work on and helps you focus on them. She also has great music. I also enjoy the owner, Nancy's, classes when I can make it to those. Overall this is a super lovely studio. I have a lot of friends who are skeptical about trying Pilates because the reformer can be intimidating. I would definitely say to try Pilates strong, as the class size is 6 or less so you get a lot of individual attention. read more

Nancy the new owner is the best ! She has also made the studio like super cute more spacious and comfortable. The classes are always fun and very enjoyable. The best part is that when you finish your work out your not exhausted but you definitely feel that your muscles have had a work out . Wow.. just like our CM Diandra, I found this nice boutique studio on Miracle Mile thanks to my new Classpass membership. Only difference here is that I signed up for Power Plate, which involved utilizing a large vibrating plate for an array of body weight workouts. We didn't use any reformers in this class. There were just 4 plates in this room with Will as our instructor. You'd be right to think that Will was correcting our form in detail every step of the way. Never mind that it was just a 30-minute class. It was more intense than most 60 minute classes that I've tried. The hardest part was holding form on the vibrating plate for 30 seconds. When it was all said and done, I felt a slight bit of nausea which is normal from what I had read. Don't underestimate this class. It's a full body workout and definitely not for beginners. I've never tried anything like this. We also purchased a couple of Fiji waters here for $2 each. read more

I've been going to Pilates Strong Strong since it first opened and I've been a loyal customer ever since! I love this studio and Stephanie is an amazing teacher. I've seen my body change through out the years and I'm always very happy with the results. The classes are small and need to be reserved in advance. The location is great - right off Miracle Mile. The price is great for the area and Pilates is not very invasive on the body that you can do it everyday and feel great! I can't recommend this studio enough. The atmosphere is wonderful, the people are very friendly, and you will see results within several weeks. If you really want to get in shape, I can't think of a better place. Also, the classes are less than an hour long, so you get a great workout within a limited time. It seriously beats going to the gym alone and the place is so great, you'll become addicted! I never write reviews so you know this place has got to be good! I've been taking weekly classes with Stephanie and Katie at Pilates Strong Studio for about a year and I couldn't be happier! They're warm, friendly, and knowledgable. The studio is spacious and clean. During each group class, the ladies make sure to incorporate exercises that focus on specific areas you'd like to work on, which makes it feel like you're getting private instruction. I really love doing pilates here. The classes are very small (maximum 6 people) so you get a very personal workout and the instructor will focus on what the class is interested in. I like that Stephanie is great at explaining both how to do the exercises as well as why you are doing them. You get a good workout while also having fun. Also you won't get bored, as they mix up the exercises: sometimes you use the jumpboard, the block, a ball or ring, etc. The class is just always a great environment with an intimate feel. read more

The Best!!! I've been attending classes at Pilates Strong Studio since October 2018 and I love it! The Studio is modern, super clean, has a very positive atmosphere and the people that go there are friendly and welcoming! There is an inexpensive parking right in the back of the studio. The classes are fun, and small groups so that we can get individual attention. I have lost weight, strengthen my core and my arms and legs are noticeably improved. Most important, I used to take Advil around the clock for lower back pain and now I don't take any! It's the best decision I've made for my well-being, I look forward to every class! I have been to several studios around town and I think this one combines the best features from each of them: personalized service, small classes, ease of reserving classes, and great location. Stephanie is wonderful and really can give you one-on-one attention in each class, and offers great tips on how to get the best workout. She's also a stickler for good form, which is so important in Pilates and something I very much appreciate. She's also great at managing differing experience levels in one class and ensures that everyone gets a great workout. The space is great. It is a clean studio in a good location. The reformers are of decent quality. Unfortunately, however it is instructors like the ones teaching here that turn people off to pilates. I purchased a package of classes from a promotion on gilt.com and used them over Christmas and New Years of 2012. There was very little explanation if any at all of the movements that were done. There was no instruction of spinal placement (neutral vs imprint spine), nor was there any explanation of using the "power house" (pelvic floor) or even breath patterns given. Above this, one of the instructors performed the actual class on an empty reformer (not demonstrating the movement but basically participated in the entire class while attempting to describe what exercise to perform next. This is not good for several reasons, but most importantly because she should be watching how each student is performing the movement to ensure proper form in order to work the correct muscle and more importantly for safety. Lastly, neither instructor ever asked if I had any injuries they should be aware of. read more

DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH WILL HOLLMANN!! Unless you're in extreme shape, he will speak down to you. I went to this studio through class pass and I read here on yelp that it is a really great place. I randomly selected a class with Will, thinking that he could not be any different that the other very highly regarded instructor, Stephanie. This was my first time working out in a while. I was scared of coming because I didn't want to be embarrassed but my friend accompanying me, who works out at studios often, assured me that instructors are always very supportive. As we began working out on the plate, I knew I was going to struggle. My legs were giving out and I was really hoping the instructor would guide me along or give me easier alternative workouts. He began to try to perfect my form, and I could tell he was very frustrated. He then proceeded to ask me if I spoke English and said that he'd never seen a form like mine, all while laughing. After a while, he stopped coming by my plate. I was clearly struggling but he decided it'd be a better investment of his time to help the people who had a better idea of what they were doing. Going to a workout class for the first time ever can be scary and it's the instructors job to make sure everyone feels comfortable. He embarrassed me and completely robbed me of my incentive to go to another studio class. I'm sure if you're in good shape, it's a different story. But if you're a beginner, I highly advise not going to Will. read more

I love this studio! I started Pilates over five years ago and I think I've tried just about every studio that offers Reformer (machine) Pilates classes in Miami! I started in May 2012 and since going regularly to Pilates Strong Studio, I've lost over 30 pounds. I am physically stronger, I have less health issues (less chronic pain), and I feel really great! Since I have some health (back) issues, I inform each instructor who is knowledgeable and gives me alternative exercises so that I can optimize my time in class. The staff is incredibly friendly, hands on (correcting form), and each instructor offers something different and special so I don't get into a workout rut! We are constantly trying new things and I feel challenged in class! Stephanie is the best! She's smart, professional, friendly and will do whatever it takes to help you reach your personal goals.
