This place has been such a comfort and a happy place for me and my husband; the space is open and bright; people here are super nice. I found my favorite personal pilate instructor Cookie ; she was a dancer and understands body injuries (I had lower back pain and frozen shoulder and husband works on computer all day); she's just amazing to build us back up stronger. Love this gem

The class I took here was so horrid that I was compelled to create this yelp page to share my thoughts. The instructor had zero idea what she was doing. Her cues were confusing (send your legs out, place your arms straight..WHERE? WHAT ANGLE?!) and she was impatient when the class did not get it right straight away. At no point were the clients asked their experience in Pilates, the machines, or their injuries. She never counted the repetitions, so we consistently did twice/3x more reps on the first side than the other (almost like she got bored and wanted to move on by the time we got to the second side). She kept telling us to protect our backs but gave no cues as to how to do so (stability, keeping a neutral spine...NOTHING). I would share the name of the instructor but she did not introduce herself. The apex of my horror occurred when the owner/boss repeatedly interrupted the class to correct the exercises the instructor was making us do. I appreciate his passion for correct form but on the other hand, it made me want to bolt before the incompetent instructor told me to anything else that could potentially injure me. He literally stood there and gave my instructor a lesson on what to teach us. This should be done before the instructors are released to teach!! The studio is large and airy with high ceilings and a gorgeous view of Union Square. There are rolling racks to hang coats and square cubbies for sneakers. A small curtain area is provided for changing. I cannot attest to a bathroom being present as I ran for my life after class. Currently there is still construction being done around the studio hallway area (elevator receiving area). I hope these serious issues are quickly corrected but I would NEVER EVER revisit. Unprofessional and dangerous.

Wonderful place to come while on vacation if you do Pilates! There was no awkward transitions to going somewhere new. The cues were accurate and teaching professional. My only thing I would recommend is to have all the fuzzier be new. I had the only Cadillac with some really worn down dirty ones

During our whirlwind of a weekend visiting NYC, my husband and I woke up on a Saturday morning and…read moredecided we could both use a little bit of yoga to start our day... We searched Yelp for a nearby studio with a class that was appealing and we found that this new Midtown East CPY studio had a Core Power Yoga 2 class that morning... we weren't sure we'd make it, and we walked in just a few minutes before the class started, but the ladies at the front desk worked with us to get us registered and into the class and we were so appreciative. Kelsea W was our teacher and she was fabulous... she had some unique sequences that allowed my mind to focus on the present moment and just move / enjoy the class. Needless to say, it was exactly what I needed! The studio itself is spacious, offers lockers, bathrooms, water refills, a bit of a retail store, mats, towels, and more... So yes, CPY is a chain, but it's consistent and if you find the right teacher / class, you'll get just what you need in that moment. Thanks again, Kelsea!

We've had the chance to take classes both in the mornings and evenings, and have likely practiced with most of their instructors at least once. The class schedule is great, and with our membership, booking spots for the high-demand classes isn't a hassle. We've had no trouble getting off the waitlist for early morning sessions either. All of the instructors have been friendly and excellent to work with, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Even when classes are full, the space doesn't feel too cramped, which makes for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this location!

Great instructors, but unprofessional management. Instead of prioritizing longevity with new…read moreclients, they nickel and dime everything. They weren't upfront about my package details at all--I signed up for what I thought was a one-month commitment, only to find out they locked me into two months and then charged me a random fee just to cancel. On top of that, when I literally spilled my water on the floor and asked for a towel to clean it up, they told me they would have to charge me for it. It is incredibly petty and transactional. To top it off, when I brought up a concern, the owner/manager sent a highly defensive email. Take your money to a studio that actually values its members.

I joined the studio while I was in New York, and I love the staff as well as the space. I would…read morehave continued past my 30-day pass, but unfortunately I didn't get to stay long enough in New York to take advantage of their membership. They offer hot as well as regular yoga. In addition, they also have hot Pilates. That kicks your butt, but it feels amazing afterwards. Staff is great, they are very welcoming and supportive of everyone's journey in there well-being. The owner remembers everyone's names and has a very positive energy. The only downside is that they sell water bottles instead of offering a water cooler for water. Granted that New York tap water is very drinkable, I didn't really like that they offered water for sale, especially since it was in 16 oz plastic bottles. However, they sold coconut water which a lot of people purchased.
