What a gem! Wonderful Texas wines in a casual and classy environment in the heart of downtown Taylor.

First impression: well setup winery and brewery with a very nice shop. Wine tasting and a…read moreseparate open facility for beer, music and what I would call pub food. Family and animal very friendly. Bring everyone! Very casual and relaxing with live country music on Saturdays. Music - when we were there- was not too loud. David Touchton was in stage. He was fantastic! If you get a chance to see/hear him sing... you really should. One man band but he is just that good. Now back to the Rising Sun. I particularly enjoyed the watermelon and pear accentuated wines. Very different and fun. Hubby really liked the "Barbarian" red. The food menu includes tacos, pizzas, burgers, and a few sharable dishes like hatch chili skillet enchiladas, wings, charcuterie board etc. It is all self service. Everyone is very nice.

And they've added a brewery called Yegua Creek, which offers glasses a beer, flights and growlers. They have many styles of beer, all brewed with excellence. The staff is always friendly. We always feel appreciated. We've seen a lot of musical acts here. The owner really knows music and is well connected. They have a three day music festival next month that we'll check out. This place is a real gem. Bring your dog (and a leash). Bring your friends. Bring your kids. Check it out :-)

Knob Creek rocks, Elijah Craig rocks, a Ranch Water (a bit too sweet), and a classic Italian Aperol Spritz. Dinner on the patio starting with a smoked bacon appetizer followed by a wedge salad. Sugared bacon was delicious. Wedge didn't have the salad core removed which was a bit disappointing. Shared a coal-fired Margarita pizza with chicken added. Pizza was cooked perfectly and was delicious with a healthy amount of ingredients, including the excellent blend of cheeses. Our waiter Peter was very professional, friendly and informative. Definitely recommend the Vineyard for an upscale night out with excellent ambiance featuring a Mediterranean decor. Will go back.

It looked pretty, but nothing came together, and the biscuit was very dry. We also tried the Cuban sandwich--way too fatty and overly thick, hard to enjoy. The loaded croissant, however, was very good, and the fries were solid. The artichoke dip had little to no flavor, and the bread wasn't grilled like the menu said. The atmosphere was beautiful--you feel like you're in a villa. The country drive out there is nice, and the grounds are gorgeous. Drinks were on point and the wine was good, though pricey for a small pour. Our waiter was friendly but not very attentive. Overall, probably won't be back. We've had much better experiences at wineries in Fredericksburg. I don't mind paying for an expensive meal if it's worth it--this just wasn't. Very disappointed.
