I stopped in here for Cinnabon a few weeks ago and saw they have pizza by the slice, so I had to come back later to try it out. The pizza and other hot foods are all part of a much larger travel center geared towards truckers. As mentioned above, they have a small, but fully functional Cinnabon along with a full Wendy's attached. The restrooms are pretty clean considering the heavy use they get. The people who work there are efficient, but don't expect over-the-top service. Getting in/out of the highway isn't bad, but it can get a little confusing due to some lane closures for construction. of Now, for the pizza. It was pretty dang good for pizza by the slice. I appreciated the box it came in over a paper plate. The crust was just the right thickness to hold while driving, the cheese was well-melted, and the sauce had the right amount of zing. One side is for large diesels and the other side is for gasoline and diesel as well (Which I appreciate because my suv needs diesel) They have a Wendy's and a Cinnabon inside as well as a mini mart and I believe I saw pizza inside. It's usually busy but the Cinnabon is tastyyy. I love the pilot on thousand Palms everybody's nice I go there all the time I go one time to the Palm Springs one today because it's closest and you get an idiot front girl when I asked for a $45 in gas bought milk and Cinnabon she doesn't charge me for the gas so I had to come back in and to get charged again with my leg is hurting Then she didn't charge my app so I didn't get my $.10 off the whole reason I went the first time I went to go cancel and asked for recipit and she has such an attitude. I asked if I could speak to a manger in case she may make mistake again. Visited this gas station about 2 Palm Springs' trips ago taking out brunch from Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar, Downtown Palm Springs. This trip, I also drove out to Desert Hot Springs because a store clerk from 'Only in Palm Springs' told me he has witnessed seeing a bunch of Roadrunners out this way, just Not my luck, I didn't see a Roadrunner this particular bird watching trip out but I found 1 running around in Cabazon another trip back. So since I drove around and out to Desert Hot Springs/Palm Springs border, I uncovered 'Pilot Travel Center,' and decided to pump gas here. There was ample parking. Lots of trashcans to throw away things. Lots of gas pumps. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. Cashier was friendly when I picked up some snacks. They have showers here also, but didn't use them. So I think 3.5 is fine for this place. I would stop here again when I'm passing by. read more

When our tires blew out because there was a car door in the road we were able to safely make it here and wait for our tow truck. Clean restrooms and snacks. It also has a working air station if you need to put air in your tires- moot point for our situation lol. read more

It's 4:05 am. I had to stop for a bathroom break and gas to make it home. I was coming home from a family function and I am wearing a dress (down to just below my knees). it was so windy I barely made it back to the car with my dress on!!! I opened my doors to block the wind... the gas nozzle fell out twice because of the wind and I couldn't hold my dress drown and control tha situation. The pump stopped at $1.21. I prepaid $10. the wind was so bad I just can't get back inside to get change. I called their number more than twice to see if they could reset the pump or if someone would bring my change.... there was NO answer at all and finally I gave up and drove home... what a messed up night!! read more

I don't like the way they've designed the pumps like how you pull up to it. Well, it works, but not great for a busy gas day. Only good thing about this place is that they have a Cinnabon!!!! Aside from my own personal experience with Stephen, the other employees agreed that he was the worst part of their management team. Great intersection, Chevron, and Del Taco on one side, should u be desperately hungry and low on gas, Wendy's right here, if you want a nice sit down meal, Jack In The Box on the opposite corner. If you need diesel at the truck stop, avoid the Desert Hot Springs CA Pilot Travel Center! One of their bays has had a HUGE pothole for MONTHS and it's STILL NOT FIXED!!!! It sat there for months without a single employee reporting it for repair. Why isn't someone inspecting daily????? The approach lanes are very short-- if you end up in the bay with the pothole, you likely won't be able to move to a different lane!!! They don't seem to have any understanding or concern about just how expensive truck and RV tires are. Though their corporate office is responsible for repairs, AT THE VERY LEAST, they could post a sign and put up a few pylons as a warning! read more

We get a few cents off each gallon of gas because my husband is a founding member of Good Dams. That coupled with us living not far from the Travel Center makes it our go to gas station. The configuration of the gas pumps isn't ideal. The area is a tight fit. It makes it hard to swing around if your gas cap is on the "wrong" side. This station is freeway compatable, and is going to be one of the last gas stations between Indio and Blithe. I've never been inside so cannot report on cleanness, food and drink, or auto needs merch. There is a truck wash nextdoor, and further to the west, a new Starbucks, a McDonalds and a Taco Bell. I stopped in for gas while I was on my Aimless Thanksgiving break Road Trip. I bought a tank of gas and saved a whopping 41¢ as a member of thier loyalty club. I also became one cup closer to my free cup of coffee, also a perk of the card. But that's not where the savings ended. I saved 50 bucks or more by sleeping in a secluded corner or thier lot over registering in a cheap hotel. The shelves were well stocked and the place was clean. We stopped by the Pilot Travel Center on our drive from L.A. to Joshua Tree. We literally dropped in just to use the bathroom and buy Diet Coke. I wouldn't necessarily have to Yelp the place, except that the bathroom was amazing. No one likes using bathrooms in gas stations and rest stops. They're almost never very clean or comfortable. But this bathroom? Not only was it spotless, it had huge, beautiful stalls with wooden doors. Honest to goodness, my friend and I took a selfie in the mirror. The rest of the travel center was nice, too, though we didn't really linger. Looked like there was a good snack selection. I doubt you can go wrong with this place. Judging from the bathroom, I'd say that this is an establishment that takes pride in providing for travelers. read more

It is what it is. This is one of the worst truck stops I've been to in my travels. Everything is pretty standard but the staff seem to have a chip on their shoulder. I tried parking to move so people could get gas. The lot attendant saw me and literally started working slower to make me wait for the spot. There is no reason for it other than the fact that he is rude. This same employee also slid through a one door letting it almost hit another customer. Dude needs training or let him go. No one needs that negativity in their lives... would give it a one but everything else seemed to be okay. read more

Pilot is one of 2 gas stations at which I usually pump. It's generally less per gallon than others in and around Palm Springs. Seems the Pilot and Morongo gas station managers closely watch one anothers prices because they always seem to change based on what the other does. Less expensive gas is the perk here and it's located right off I-10. The downside is that this places gets really crowded, especially with travelers (imagine that! It is a travel center) and truckers. They also only have 1 pump on either side of their islands. These often are populated by inconsiderate jerks here who when done pumping gas, do not pull up to a regular parking spot and proceed to go into the attached fast food restaurant. There can be multiple cars just left completely unattended in front of gas pumps while you're waiting to pull up to fill up. Not saying this happens all the time, but it shouldn't at all. read more

Love these places because they always have tons of things in their store for road snacks and the fuel is always reasonable in prices. If you have a pilot card or a CFN card you can pull in with the trucks an get fuel if you are pulling a trailer or 5th wheel it makes it so much easier to maneuver than out with the autos. If you are part of the rewards program you can get .03 cents off per gallon. You can also get free coffee after you buy several cups, I thinks it's buy nine get one free. I like Pilot Travel Centers. The bathrooms aren't always spic-n-span but these locations offer so many conveniences besides gasoline and snacks. Sometimes there are the souvenirs one forgot to buy in town, etc. We use Pilots when we see them. read more

It may be a convenient place to stop while traveling but I wouldn't recommend working there. Keith, the manager was very degrading to me in front of customers. Took my name off the schedule and told me to call in each week to see if hours were available, only to string me along for six weeks and have a regional manager inform me I had already been taken off payroll, so he is the one who told me I was terminated because apparently the manager didn't have the guts or curtesy to tell me himself. read more
