A very pleasant young lady was at the service window and took down my concerns and contact information along with the keys. I told her I need the car back by Friday. COMMUNICATION FROM SHOP On Thursday morning I got a call and we discussed how I wanted the problem with my lack of air conditioning remedied, i.e., replace all leaking components or just get it working and add freon as needed in the future. I took the least costly. On Thursday afternoon I got a call that the car was ready and work was completed. DELIVERY OF CAR On Friday morning I arrived and paid for the work which was very reasonable and again got good service from the young lady at the service window. PRIOR BAD REVIEWS Before coming in for service I read the yelp reviews where the majority of customers were very pleased. I then saw a review from a former employee who wanted her W-2s. That is not a yelp issue. Another was from someone who did not want to have work done for the quoted price and had it done much cheaper on the air conditioner. As in my case I was given a quote to get it running and to replace all leaking components. For the price the yelper paid all that was done by the other shop was what I had done here for less money.

My 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with relatively low mileage, developed some transmission problems in…read moresummer 2018, culminating in the Jeep going into limp mode on the Dan Ryan. I was able to get the car to our home in Bridgeport, but I knew that I needed to get it looked at soon. I took the Jeep into Citywide Transmissjon based on solid reviews and the fact that it is less than two blocks from our home. The staff there immediately went to work, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly, and for much, much less $$$ than I expected. The staff also had some suggestions about other things we could do in the future. At no point did they upsell, and I was very pleased with the service. So, why only two stars? Two weeks after I picked up our Jeep, I received an envelope in the mail from the City of Chicago---an automated parking ticket, complete with a picture of my Jeep parked illegally across the street from Citywide while they had it in their care. It happens, the City's parking camera trucks are like ninjas that sneak up and take pictures before you even know you were there. I have no doubt that Citywide only left the Jeep there for a minute. But that was enough, and now I was out $75. I went into Citywide, showed them the ticket, they made a copy, and they promised to make it right. I left, reassured, and hopeful that I had found a repair shop for the future. That was in August. I've since gone into the shop two more times, left voice mails, and called several times, trying to get this taken care. It's now January 2019, and I've gotten nowhere. Sure, $75 isn't the end of the world, but if Citywide isn't willing to make this right, and if parking tickets are a risk I'm going to have to assume to get repairs there, then I'll have to take my business elsewhere. Which is too bad, because I really liked the shop and the people there.
