I have been going to Pima Dermatology for the last 20 years and have always found my experience there to be very positive. The staff is super friendly and they are always thorough with my examinations. They are also very good at recommending treatments that are appropriate for my skin type. I have gone to Dr. Goldberg for many years. It is probably going on 15 years now. My husband first went to Dr. Goldberg for laser treatment of his face. Dr. Goldberg met with him and discussed his personal life and his service to his country as well as his injuries incurred. Dr. Goldberg was so kind and so warm in his affect that we both felt so confident right from the beginning. When my husbands procedure was so successful I, too, decided to have laser done to my face. His skill and professionalism was superior and the results were great. As the years passed we had various things done at Pima Dermatology. We were always satisfied with both the services as well as the staff. Dr. Goldberg remained as we had always known him. He truly cares about his patients and about the work he is doing. He does many charitable activities. This past year my husband and I both went back to review our facial skin. My husband scheduled a mild procedure and Dr. Goldberg and I decided on a major laser for me. As I was eight years older than my husband this made sense to me. Dr. Goldberg, as always, made us feel so special as he remembered all our previous visits and showed interest in what had been going on in our lives. Dr. Goldberg did my facial procedure after extensive evaluation and testing. His equipment is top shelf and he spares no time or effort in using it. He truly cares what the results will be and even more importantly he cares that his patient is comfortable. When my husband passed away shortly after my procedure Dr. Goldberg and staff were totally supportive even to one of the nurses offering to come by my home if I needed her. Dr. Goldberg wrote a sensitive and caring sympathy card. I don't think any doctor I have ever had has done that in the past. I am not sure how these folks who have written that the staff doesn't care and similar posts came upon their opinions. I just wanted to add the photos of my AMAZING tattoo removal! I want to acknowledge that yes I did scar. But the scaring is soooo minor compared to the amazing results. That tattoo is 99% gone. Worth every penny! The photo where you can see the scar most prominent is in the current 100% healed photo and it is because it is a close up.and in natural lighting.I also added another current photo where you can see me taking the photo myself. My entire family is seen here for routine skin cancer screenings, and I also see Jennifer Allison for removal of occasional skin tags. I find her to be very friendly yet professional. She makes you feel very comfortable during those full-body scans. She has mentioned several cosmetic procedures in the past, but I never felt like I was being given a high-pressure sales tactic -- just information. I would highly recommend this practice. I've been a patient with Dr. Goldberg's office for decades, and I have never been anything but perfectly satisfied. The office is run like a well-oiled machine. Yes, you often see a PA, but they are all experienced with caring for skin in the desert, and they're all highly competent and know their stuff. If they aren't sure about something, they bring one of the doctors in. My mother and husband are also patients, with minor skin cancers being treated at the office, and they too are very satisfied. While you may have to wait to get an appointment for general skin checks, if you have something questionable, they get you in very quickly. When my dermatologist of 20 years retired I was referred to Dr. Goldberg. The office is run efficiently, the office staff is friendly, the atmosphere is great, and as a business owner I can tell a lot of thought has gone into making this a professionally run business. I have gone for medical dermatology appointments and had issues resolved. I now go for cosmetic reasons and the care and results are fantastic. Without having to go through a major facelift my face looks years younger. Ugly freckles on the back of my hands are gone, and surprisingly have stayed gone for about 3+ years after they were laser removed. My self confidence is so improved without major surgery. I rarely leave reviews as I find them petty, usually. However, the treatment I received from Pima Dermatology was extremely unprofessional and the associate I spoke with was blasé at best. I have had an appointment scheduled for months and I understand the need for caution for the Corona Virus. But... apparently the office decided to cancel all appointments indefinitely, including any scheduled for that same day they made the decision. The appointment I had scheduled had nothing to do with my appearance but addressing skin cancer. I was dismissed and told nothing could be done. I received the call hours before the appointment itself. No empathy or concern. I was very disappointed as this office came highly recommended. As medical professionals I would expect more responsible and ethical behavior in regard to patient care. Needless to say I will not return and will inform anyone considering to go there. read more

My experience with them has been strictly medical (skin cancer concerns), so cannot comment on the cosmetic procedures. I had a growth that was changing in shape and in substance, and I wanted to get in as quickly as I could to see an MD. The phone person did everything she could, as was quite rude, to book me in with a PA instead. It was only after I insisted more than once did she book me with an MD. Appt. itself - waited some time for my pre-arranged appt. (booked weeks in advance....I hope none of you ever have concerns about cancerous/suspicious growths), I waited and waited in the waiting area. Finally went in to a "holding" room, as I like to call it, as I then waited and waited till I was finally seen. An assistant and MD were both nice, but rushed - both could hardly spend the minimum amount of time. My appointment could not have been more than 10 or 15 minutes. Then they took biopsies and left. No mention by anyone of how, when, who...what was their protocol for communicating the results. What then followed was me calling and going through their endless phone tree - it's difficult to even get to a human receptionist, let alone medical assistant - and leaving voicemails, which they would merely return with a "call me back at ext.___". Endless extensions that you can try; no one was ever answering their phone. Just incredibly unprofessional. It was only when I, by this time very frustrated, left on one particular VM that they could leave an explicit, detailed message with my results that I finally obtained any information. The person leaving the message stated that she couldn't leave any message until I gave verbal consent....would have been nice for them to communicate that to all their patients, right? Up front...BEFORE you sit there and wait and wait and then are seen. Really lame and unprofessional. My advice for anyone with medical concerns: call the Mayo Clinic dermatology section up in Phoenix. Get a referral, do whatever you can to get up there. They are a real medical practice from A to Z, and are excellent communicators before, during and after any procedure. They also are proactive about letting you know how to get your results (and they also follow up in writing). They are just excellent. Pima Dermatology felt strictly like a business, not a medical practice, judging from my experience there. Save your money for the hefty fee you will be charged (or co-pay)....get a referral up to the Mayo Clinic and interact with professionals. read more

Tattoo removal is a joke here , I paid $ 70 dollars to just see how much it would cost to remove a neck tattoo. First I never saw the doctor just some nurse who couldn't stop talking about Colorado . I was never checked by the doctor at any time for quota the nurse gave me which came out to $3,500 I'm not kidding at all I have had some treatments in California but never have been asked to pay this much and to top it all of they showed me a power point with a bunch of stock photos from the internet of laser tattoo removal I shit you not a power point with stock photos I image the charge $70 just to talk because I bet one and ten people will pay that price especially since you don't gurrrentee your work or offer more treatment till it's complete removed and no refund on your $70 dollars read more

I scheduled a cosmetic consult appointment with Lynne a medical aesthetician thinking that I would receive recommendations for skin care products and services available. After 30 seconds of looking at one area she "diagnosed" me with a specific condition and said it could only be treated with a laser treatment by the MD. I guess this person with an MA certificate can do this?? I proceeded to ask her questions about general facial skin care and product recommendations since this was a $70 appointment. I received very limited information and felt like I was bothering her. read more

Lack of consult fee notice and bad pricing I was never told there was a 70 dollar consult fee. I also didn't feel she was pricing my tattoo removal out very well. She had no guidelines or anything to go off of she kept "thinking" what she was going to charge and then kept saying but I brought the price down. The whole purpose was to use care credit for tattoo removal I have about 8 tattoos I wanted to remove so only wanted to start with 4 to do a quote that's not what I came for. With me having so many to remove I'm a cash cow basically and bad pricing now I won't get them removed there. I also asked about my acne scarring and she kept telling me my face wasn't that bad ok maybe to other people but me it is. She seemed irritated to go over my face because her work sheet did say acne scarring just tattoo removal I told them that when I made the appointment, funny how I didn't know about the consult fee. Terrible communication. I'm really upset about the consult fee. I would have never of made an appointment if I had known there was a fee. read more

The treatment for AC at 2:00 pm today was quick and timely but afterwards I waited 35 minutes to see "Lynn" to talk about laser to help with the after affects of prior surgery. And I have had laser treatments there in the past so I didn't see the need to consult and pay $70.00. In any case, when I went back to the front to see what the problem was, I was told that she could not see me until 3:00 pm. BS!!! I left and will find someone else to do the laser. After four years of frustration with my previous dermatologist in Tucson, I decided to try Pima Dermatology. My initial meeting a month ago was very positive beginning with the office staff to the nursing assistant who checked me in, to my initial consultation with Dr. Beal. Dr Beal has an excellent "bedside manner" and came across very confident he could help me. He performed a biopsy and after the results came back, he suggested having MOHS surgery. Yesterday I had the MOHS surgery performed by Dr Sarah Schram who came across as very warm and caring and demonstrated the type of behavior you really want in your healthcare advocate. She answered all my questions and carefully explained what she was going to do each step of the way. I have complete confidence in her. I first went to Pima Dermatology at least 10 years ago per my primary care doc's recommendation for treating veins in my legs. Dr. Goldberg was kind, helpful and did just what I needed. All went well. Then I returned to their new location a few years ago. The office is beautiful, clean and the staff very friendly to patients. Each person I dealt with starting with the front desk, answered my questions and explained what procedures I might need. Lynn gave me a thorough Individualized consultation regarding skin care, and I chose the products she recommended and I could afford. Good skin care is NOT CHEAP so don't expect to get drug store prices for top line products. I was introduced to one product I just cannot live without and would never have discovered this on my own. I was also given many samples to try and see what worked best for my particular skin. I also saw Liza for removal of a cyst. She was WONDERFUL and did a great job. I would choose to see her again; I am not one who believes I must see a doctor at each appointment. I agree with some reviews, it is necessary to find out ahead of time which services are covered by your insurance and which are not. This is true with any medical office. I attended one of their late afternoon free seminars on various facial procedures. At that time discounts were offered and I purchased a plan. I had a procedure done and had a remaining balance from my initial purchase. I made another appointment a few months later to use up the balance. When I made the appointment, I told the scheduler I wanted to use up the credit. I also told Jennifer I needed to use up my remaining credit when she came in to do the procedure, because it would be expiring soon. I checked out with a zero charge noted on the paperwork. Later I received a bill for the procedure. I called their billing department and explained the situation. They were not to helpful saying my credit only covered part of the procedure. I then called and left a message for Jennifer explaining the issue and reiterating what had told the billing department. The billing department did call and I was not charged for the procedure.
