Minus 5 stars. This place caused my mother and I multiple problems. My mom went in for pain management. They recommended several invasive things and my mother said no because she forms scar tissue and has had injections and other things done in the past and they caused pain and swelling and neuropathy in her hands and feet. The Dr told her she might as well go home to die because she was never getting anything from them, then he told her talking to her was like pulling teeth or nails on a chalk board. As she was leaving they followed her outside and made her sign something saying she wouldn't kill herself. Now she has such bad PTSD I can't get her to go to any other appointments. I'm slowly watching my mom die and suffer so you got what you wanted Dr annabi . My experience there was a bit different. I was referred to them by my PCP when they made it hard for them to prescribe. They kept me on my medication but then I had to go to the hospital and they gave me several medications while I was in the hospital. Pima pain said my pee came back dirty and I need to provide the hospital information so I did. The person working there called the hospital but didn't ask for the correct thing so they sent the records without the medication list so they called me a liar and cut my dose in half. I went into such bad withdrawals and couldn't even get up to pee in time anymore so I was peeing myself and couldn't even make food anymore. I was miserable and knew pima pain would just tell anyone else I was non compliant so I ended up doing the unthinkable and went to the street. I ended up with sepsis and kidney failure and endocarditis. I had to have open heart surgery and have my heart valves replaced. Now I go to the methadone clinic and watch my mom slowly die. I also have congestive heart failure now. Turns out procedure was not to cut my meds in half they should have put me on the bupe patch but they didn't. I'm currently trying to get my mom on palliative care so hopefully she won't suffer anymore. As for me anytime I have surgery im viewed as an addict and the surgeon is very hesitant to give anything do I've endured unimaginable pain because methadone doesn't help with pain when taken everyday already. As other reviews have suggested this place is the cause of ppl going to the streets. I feel like an idiot for doing so but I was peeing myself and couldn't barely get out of bed. read more

My 6 years with Pima Pain Center was a nightmare. I was referred for Medication Management, but they only manage medication, if you voluntarily allow a variety of painful procedures, Poking, prodding and more pain. I was regularly made to feel guilty for using Pain Medication. I was bullied by the Doctors and Providers. They regularly threatened to stop my medications if I did not accept more spinal injections and other painful procedures. My view of Pain Management Doctors was very dark and frightening. When I asked to be discharged, the wrote me a letter that condemned me as an uncooperative patient. When I went to the next Pain Doctor, I learned what compassion and a positive approach was all about. Now away from Pima Pain and their threats, I am the happiest I have been since my accident broke most bones in my body and lived in a prolonged coma. My New Pain Management Clinic treats me with great respect, and more than half the patients that I meet there feel the same way. I'm giving no stars, they were horrible. I spent two months in the hospital and rehab all along having meds. My nurse made an appointment with Pima Pain. First they have me heal before I can get one. My nurse was appalled who is part of my Insurance home care. I finally went and they were rude. Mejia was with me, five minutes denied medication forcing me to get injections. I'm so riddled with pain I can't even lift my legs or lay on my stomach. I have needed my meds to have a life free from my bed. I have been on them for a while so her turning me down made no sense. I'm seventy and have Stenosis my lumbar has a large mass pressing on my spine, it has made me incontinent. I'm in so much pain I can't stand it. I've only been out of the house 2 times Pima Pain was the second. I've been fighting to stay out of assisted living I received ALTEC wait when they find out and my case worker from Caralon. Wait till I mention to Medicare Mejia walked out of the room after only five minutes and had no clue. A big waste of my copay and made to take a urine test with no prescription they charge my insurance big money for those. I hope Anabbi is making loads. I've been a patient for almost 2 years. Service was ok. These last two months have been a nightmare with Dr Freeman and Dr Yang. January 2 had an appointment with Dr Yang who said she send a prescription to pharmacy for my medication and it would be for 2 months and 3 times a day. Ok thank you as I'm moving out of state soon and it would help until I find another pain center. Well none of that happened! She changed the medication to.tylenol with codeine! Taking 2 times a day but she did give refills. The pharmacy called me because Dr Yang did not code the prescription and they needed to know why I was getting this medication! Really? Pay attention when sending prescriptions. I called to ask to have Dr Yang change to my hydrocodone acetaminophen that I've been taking for years and she said she told me she was changing medication. Well no she didn't and I'm really angry with her. I wasn't happy with from the beginning and avoided going to that location most of the time. Why on earth would she change my medication without my knowledge? So angry. Call center called back and the manager is changing the prescription. Thank you. Meet him 1 time after almost 6 years for him to take my meds away from me that was working to put me on a patch that almost killed me and still yet to be put back on my original meds even after the patches was destroyed. I started with Pima Pain in August 2021 for hip and shoulder pain. I initially saw NP's three times and paid $60 copays as indicated on my insurance card. I later found out my insurance company requires $30 copays for NP visits. When I went in for my next visit, I asked the front desk to use part of my $90 credit so I didn't have to pay my copay. I was told I didn't have a credit balance and the front desk tried to collect another $60 copay. It took me a year to get them to put that credit balance back on my account and allow me to use it for other visits. In mid-2022, Pima Pain increased the amount they charged for sedation, but but my insurance still only allowed the same amount, so I was overpaying $25 every time I received sedation. By the end of 2022, I had another credit of $100 but Pima Pain would refund it to me because they said I had an unpaid claim. This "unpaid claim" was a denied claim where their employee failed to get prior auth for one of my procedures. This is their issue - NOT mine. Before my last visit I told them I wasn't going to overpay again - but they refused to check my in, so I had no choice but to pay. My blood pressure every time I was in this clinic was through the roof. My last visit was the final straw - 189/102. Everyone should check your insurance explanation of benefits to make sure you are only paying what your insurance company says you should be paying. If you overpay - Demand a refund and DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. read more

Waiting almost 3 months to get in with this entity who then Calls me the day before my appointment. Office Staff- Stated" You won't get your RX that you take normally nor will you get RX first visit". "We also require Injections, Non evasive Procedures." I then Stated I waited 3 months and they read my medical records? I then said I am not medically cleared for any procedures and that was to be known. We informed staff prior. The real unprofessionalism is the Fact it was a Scheduler stating this. A Scheduler. That is unethical, Not within her scope. Negligent, Dismissive and Discriminatory. And this Medical Entity thinks they are running a 5 Star Rating? I'm actually not seeing that at all. I might suggest checking your Scheduling Staff and retrain, or if you are having them State these things that You Check the Office Manager. You're dealing with Chronic Pain Patients, Chronically Ill on Palliative Care and this is how you treat patients. I'm sickened by this lack of ethical, Compassionate, Healthcare Where people had Integrity, great work ethic. Sadly that is a rarity, but the Best are still out there. We just need to dig to find them. And they are out there to actually help and not abandon patients to leave them to severely suffer. read more

I had been going to Pima Pain since my since my primary care Dr could no longer prescribe narcotics. I've had three surgeries on my neck so far and have been on narcotics for 13 years. In that 13 years I messed up one time and Pima Pain would not help me through withdraws. I switched to Belbuca film and they put me on half the dose I should have been on. I was in withdraws still for a month. Could not barely get out of bed. Then they put me on proper dose and then I find out the film in mouth will rot your teeth. I asked for the patch and they brought me down to a lower dose which put me back in withdraws. I left Pima Pain the same day they asked me to leave. I already had the place and fax number. This is what I found out about Pima Pain. First they misrepresented themselves with saying they have acupuncture and chiropractor on site, which is bull. They care more about appeasing the state than helping the person. Actually they don't care about the person at all. There are 9 Pima Pain offices in Tucson and I've been to 7. You never see the same provider, so no one really gets to know what you are going through. You are a number and money to them and that is all. You tell them over and over again that the amount of medication is too small and what do they do, they take more away from you. When the laws changed of course they felt they had to appease the state and not help the person any longer. They took more than 2/3 of my medication away. But my pain did not ease up. I still had the same pain. They don't care! I even wrote to the governor and received a letter with the law saying chronic pain patients medication did not need to have medication changed. Pima Pain practices social medicine. Everyone gets the same amount of medicine across the board. They do not care if you're in pain or not. No compassion. Cold hearted company. I would not recommend this company even for my dogs care. There are other pain management places out there who will care more about you as a person which is why I would think that is why they should have become a doctor in the first place to help people. Yes the money should be good but that should not be their first priority as it is with Pima Pain. It's all about helping people live a better life with pain. Pima Pain never helped me. I was always chasing pain under their care. When I first saw my new pain management, they could not believe how I had been yo yoed on the Belbuca and thrown into withdraw they recognized immediately that I needed to be stabilized on my medication and now I am. I was treated poorly by the phone staff. I was hospitalized and could not have an ablation done. I had to give them my discharge papers to avoid a 50.00 failure to show for appointment ( I was in the hospital). After I gave them my paperwork they called to reschedule the ablation. They refused to refill my meds. Saying I had to wait until my procedure i asked Sophia what do I do about my pain meds. She said " well you have been 5 days without them already" to which I said I know and now I have to wait 2 more weeks, she said yes. What sense does that make none. They have zero compassion. November 2023 I got sepsis from the injections in my left shoulder. He did 2 and I don't know why and it felt weird. It felt like someone was touching my back. It's October of 2024 and I'm still dealing with the after effects of sepsis. I'm tired all the time and I feel like I lost 10 years of my life. When I went back to Pima Pain after getting out of the hospital, Lisa Laginess went crazy trying to get my hospital records. Why would she need my hospital records. The doctor that I had for my whole hospital stay said that they she didn't know what the strain of sepsis it was because she hadn't seen that one before. I'm still trying to survive this. Worst experience ive ever had. I moved from California to arizona. In California i was on a medicine regimine and was told that would all transfer over with the new referral. Dr anabi (spelling?) Refused to give me medication stating i didn't need it. I can hardly walk without it and have spent about 95% of my time in arizona in bed. I called him out on how what he was doing wasnt ok. I guess i bruised his fragile male ego because he made it so i can not go to any location or doctor of pima pain center. How are doctors allowed to leave patients in horrible conditions and have zero repercussions. I then called some higher up to complain about him and she was even worse. Run! First off way too many patients to get adequate care and secondly the facility refuses to provide alternative medication during a national shortage of pain medication. I lost my son two days before my last appointment and while the provider acted as he cared when I called into understand the medication shortage and was told I could get withdrawal medication, but not an alternative medication. I then asked to speak with my last provider. I was given the runaround and told that the provider will not call me regardless. I then informed them that during my last visit once the provider understood what I had recently gone through he reassured me that at any point in time I could reach out to him and he would help me. The triage nurse I spoke with said what happens in your personal life has nothing to do with us. I informed her that that is not accurate as a medical facility and a medical provider. When I first stared with Pima Pain, I was taken care of. As they grew, the care has dropped. Every few months, a doctor or NP will call out and if you are scheduled to see them, just know you will not get rescheduled in a timely manner or with ease. You may get offered a new apt but it will be on the opposite side of town and if you can't make it then you are out of luck. You are not able to get a bridge or short refill on your prescription because YOU turned down an apt. If the office cannot see patients in a timely manner then they have to many patients. The patient should not be penalized because the provider calls out. Not everyone can run to the other side of town or even to the Green Vally office and the policies for when a provider calls out need yo be more supportive of the patient. I went in for pain. They like to focus on just one thing at a time. To slow to do much more. When you have fibromyalgia, EVERYTHING HURTS ALL AT ONCE NOT ONE AT A TIME. I was told to ask my doctor for a certin pain patch, I did and my PCP said that she would give up my pain management and have Pima Pain Center do it. When I gave them that note, all of a sudden they can't perscribe the patch THEY suggested. They made me go in and talk to a doctor, wasted 2 hours of my work time. for what? the doctor that say me was more concerned that I would be mad at here because she had to tell me she could not give me the pain patches. Why the hell have me come in and waste your time and mine? NOW apparently the relationship between me and THEM is not a good one so they released me from their care, cancelling the procedure that was going to take care of my neck pain and I have to start all over again with a new pain clinic. After they send me a letter stating why they released me. I AM IN PAIN AND THEY DON'T FING CARE. Save your time and energy and find another pain clinic. With doctors that actually give a damn about you and that actually listen. The woman doctor I saw was saying that my insurance company may not cover the patches. Assuming that I could not pay for them myself. The Nerve. People do make money and work hard for it and are willing to spend it on their care. You guys were give by my insurance company. You checked eligibility. I came for medication monitoring. Have CRPS/RSD. My medications are do. Dr set up two procedures to be done on my back. My medication was not called in and when dr learned insurance wasn't going to pay for procedures to do they canceled me going their knowing my meds would run out over the weekend. I had been a patient at Pima Pain for approximately 3 years. When checking in for an appointment, I witnessed the receptionist belittling a patient. This male patient was there for a procedure, but was scheduled on a day when sedation was not available. This man was absolutely terrified of needles and stated that he needed sedation. The receptionist had the man stand to the side, as they decided what to do. As the receptionist was checking me in, she noticed that I was having the same procedure as the man and I was not requesting anesthesia. The receptionist said to the man, "See, she is a female, and she doesn't need sedation." That poor man! It is no one's business what a patient might need to get through a procedure. I complained. I had some concerns regarding billing. At an appointment, I asked if they could have someone from billing call me. No one called and I complained. I had an appointment on 11/07/2023. The doctor asked, "Why are you here?" Um, because your office scheduled an appointment. I asked for a patient advocate to call - they didn't. I went in a week later. The receptionist remembered me and said she left the message. I complained. I had concerns about the way I was being treated by staff when my appointment was cancelled the day of and asked for the patient rep to call me back - they didn't. I had an appointment to have a relief procedure on my back. Pima's rep called and left a message on my phone to call back. I called back and because the rep was unavailable, left a message. I then called because I didn't receive check-in information for a scheduled procedure. I was told that they tried to contact me to let me know that because I had so many concerns, Pima Pain suggested I look elsewhere. The irony is that the rep that called to let me know Pima Pain was releasing me told me she never received the message that I returned her call. Pima Pain left me in pain, days before a scheduled procedure. I've never missed an appointment. I've never gotten a prescription filled early. I released from their care because of their negligence. I have since been a patient at the Pain Institute of Southern Arizona and have never been happier or treated better. read more

First I started at Pain Center on west side. Waits were always hours long. No one seemed to care. I paid $50 to be sedated for my procedure. Dr did not wait for the shot to kick in and started the procedure. I about died from the pain. Their only goal here is to make money. No one returns calls. They set up your next appointment without asking if you are available. I thought that was a mistake since no one told me I needed an appointment for anything. I was content to wait until next year for my back ablation. I canceled my appointment twice; I was not a "no show." There is no communication whatsoever. So after I canceled two appointments, they discharged me from their practice. I was baffled. Amazing. So now I'm working with Pain Center of Southern AZ. I hope they are better. read more

This place is at best a joke. You see a DR one month that puts you on a regimen of medications or treatments then the next month they schedule you with another person who changes the previous DR treatments and is a circus. I saw a female fnp who told me she didn't care the previous DR I was seeing for over 1.5 years in the same practice what his directions were she wanted nerve blocks and I explained my surgeon said not to do nerve blocks she said "I'm the boss and that's what I'm requesting be done" I refused and she immediately lowered my pain meds. This place is a joke steer clear of this circus act. Also the pain meds they were giving me was actually the reason I was hurting so severely after 4 to 6 hours without it causing you to constantly need the opioid. I've been off the opioid for 2 weeks and pain is gone. So thankful I decided to tell them to get lost. Isn't it amusing that if you are 5 minutes late to a Dr appt you won't be seen, but waiting for over 1.5 hours isn't unusual for any of the doctors,, NP's or any provider. Maybe start on time. The medical care is not bad. I have had relief over 50% of the time after treatments. Dealing with their office staff, insurance people, and billing people is almost as much fun as an IRS audit. This place wrote the book on bureaucracy. No one answers the phone. No one calls you back. They cancel your appointment because they failed to get authorization from your insurer, because they failed to ask for it, or failed to give them the proper information to obtain such authorization, then send you down to sign a statement authorizing them to appeal the insurerer's denial, which they fail to file with the insurer, while sending you an e-mail asking how effective the treatment had been in relieving your pain, which they did not give you in the first place. If Dilbert's pointy haired boss worked for a medical outfit, he would be the CEO of this place. The staff don't talk to the doctors, and vice versa. Nobody talks on the phone. The staff doesn't talk to the patients. the billing people don't talk to anyone. But, they do love collecting pee. They want yours, even if they don't prescribe drugs for you. read more

Pima Pain Center is in it for the money, "liquid gold", aka pee tests. I have been going to them for 6 years and have gotten nothing that vaguely resembles pain relief. It's just pee test after pee test, insurance denials for any procedures, and constant ongoing pain. I've probably been pee tested by them at least 30 times over 6 years, with no damning results. Yet every time I go for a consultation, they want more pee. I don't use any drugs, they no longer prescribe tramadol for me, but they just want my pee. You know they are making money off of it, or they wouldn't collect it. It's downright disgusting, I continue to suffer, I get no treatment, and they make money off my pee. The experiences I had with Pima were great untill... I went to an appointment at St Marys. ( I usually go to Green Valley one or the Pima on Pima street. ) They were rude and loud and mean. I usually visit Dr. Eccles whom is Excellent.. this time I visited Trish. She is very rude and showed no mercy orcompassion I have been in post Campfire mod , we experienced much trauma already. I haven't had my Id changed to AZ from California yet as I have been working on getting our rebuild done. I was discharged by a Np Trish for not having one. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to get my birth certificate , alone and another few weeks to get an Id once I show dmv that to obtain Id . I wasn't sure how long I would be in AZ during rebuild. The water in Paradise California is still bad to drink. Also my Father died in this fire which adds to trauma for him to pass like that. Dr Eccles is very compassionate , merciful and humane ; these are the qualities I love . I have already spoken with patient advocate. I have been a volunteer anti pain advocate for years ; I use to be my Dads caregiver. Without medicine my hip , back, and ankle are in severe pain. This is horrendous. Dr Eccles treated me as an individual , NP trish did not at all. Im in need of individual help as I help on an individual level myself , I am not too lazy to do so . read more

Dr. Anabi was arrogant, rude, and didn't even read my chart. He requested MRIs, Sonograms,and electode testing of my back, legs, and neck before he said he would treat me for my hip. I have a 4 inch steel pin in my hip that is wearing a hole through my femur. I was referred by Dr. Susan Hadley, who assured me Pima Pain Center would treat my pain. WRONG! Dr. Anabi would not call Dr. Hadley as I requested. I have been a chronic pain patient for 15 years. Dr. Anabi was not interested in treating my hip pain, only running up a bill for tests and leaving me in pain. read more

Wow what amazing awesome service! I have had a procedure performed today by Dr. Annabi called a "genicular block" on my left knee as I have had post surgical pain (2 yrs ago was surgery) since my knee replacement. I feel great! I must also acknowledge hos expertise and willingness to think out the box when implanting a trial spinal cord stimulator in my chest (not in my back). He has done it only 3 or 4 other times and is perhaps the only doctor to do this in the world! It was a great blessing from God as it worked! Dr. Annibi sent me to his colleague Dr. Callahan to permanently implant the stimulator and life has been so much better since. I am blessed to have found Pima Pain Center and specifically Dr. Annabi. They just can't seem to get it right. Every visit is for a different office that doesn't seem to know anything about your case. Last time I made an appointment for the second left knee shot. When I got there they told me I was there for a right knee procedure and could not give me a left knee shot. Inconceivable. read more

I went there after having gotten new insurance and instead of them having me fax in all my prior medical records from my previous pain management clinic, they had me bring the paperwork with me to my first appointment, well after the doctor came in the exam room he picked up my paperwork from previous pain management doctors and said this is bullshit, your chronic painful bladder condition is no reason to be on pain medication, so your not fixing to like what I'm going to say next, I will not be prescribing you anything for that condition, but I see you have other pain , let's get records, recent x rays, and mri's and I'll be happy to put you back on a pain contract. I said what about right now I am going to get opioid sick, he said " oh well not my problem " said he would prescribed medication to make withdrawal process easier, that was until I had a severe panic attack in their oracle Road office and they refused to let me leave due to how distraught I was knowing that I was going to be very opioid sick tge next few weeks. So I finally pushed my way out of there!! I can't believe what they did to me! I took all my medical records in, this office this doctor ( I can't remember his name) but they are a disgrace! I had all tge proof I needed to stay on a pain management case, and this doctor could of had me bring my records in prior to review them and tell me yes or no on taking me in for a pain contract, giving me time to find someone in tge event he didn't want to take me on as a patient, but no he waited to the day of tge appointment, and left me no choice but to have to detox off pain medications cold turkey with other serious medical conditions!!! My boyfriend has been a patient of Pima Pain for over a year now with clean UA's and was deferred back to Cope where he was initially seen by Dr. Hadley. Why?? Dr. Trish refused to give him another appt with Pima Pain, lied, and subsequently quit the practice! The only highlight is that Chelsea, the patient advocate with the assistance of Naomi, helped him re-establish his status with Pima Pain. If I had not been aided by these two wonderful dedicated females, I would have had to look for another pain clinic. This should have never ever happened to begin with!!! read more
