I only discovered this after completely taken apart my pump so I needed the right parts ASAP and wasn't sure on what to order. I've bought pool accessories here over the 12 years I've been in Boca. My biggest purchases were pool cleaners. Their pricing was retail, nothing discounted, though. You can find these items on-line for less, but when you buy here you're supporting local people. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and there is always someone to help you. I believe Joe is the manager, and as one other reviewer stated, he's a man of few words. So don't be personally offended if the guy who helps you out appears abrupt, it's just his style. Give him a smile, maybe he will smile back? They periodically ally release a sale flyer, that's the only place I've seen any discount coupons. Lots of parking in their lot. read more

I didn't plan on ever having a house with a pool. I would rather have friends with pools, of course. But when I got my new residence here in Boca, well, it had a pool. It didn't have any problem for weeks after moving in but then one day, the water not right. It was a weekend day and I checked around who was open. A bunch of places were closed, but to Pinch a Penny's credit, they were open. I rolled in and was taken a little back at how nice I was greeted. It seem almost fake at first, but I realized they were genuinely just nice folks. The guy who helped me out, and has the last few times has been Tom. I brought in my water sample as I was advised over the phone. He ran a quick series of tests and with a computer print out told me what things I needed to add. When I went to pay I was surprised that the price was as good as it was. In fact I was told the jugs that the chlorine came in had a deposit and to bring them back for the deposit. Sadly I have been back many more times, sadly. But it comes with having a pool. I'm glad to have Pinch a penny nearby. read more

These guys are the best!! They test your water for FREE and give you a detailed report. We are renting and our rent is not cheap! The landlord insists on using a pool guy who is not doing a good job maintaining our pool. No pool companies will come out to give me ANYTHING in writing bc I do not own the house. I was almost desperate to get anything in writing to prove that there is a problem. These guys were great and DID detect harmful black algae in the water so I can now prove there is a harmful condition that will have to be addressed. I enjoy shopping here. Have been since I got my pool in 2015. They give you a bottle to bring in water samples and test it for free. Then tell you what to add or do differently. Doesn't get much easier than that. Also great spot for grilling supplies. I buy charcoal and other big green egg accessories there. Terrible customer service and pricey. The Philippine guy has a bad attitude with me always. I tried to overcome the fact that he recommended his sister to redo my patio with sundek flooring and did a horrible job, for which I paid in full and got another company to do it over. But years later when I went in there to buy 4 more jugs of chlorine that I just purchased last weekend and asked if he could refund a few jugs of chlorine that I had taken from the old stock and was weak. He basically told me "screw you, your pool is crap" The jugs cost $5x3 the insult was just as cheap! read more
