i had a new pool pump installed yesterday worked fine until nighttime. this morning did not turn on. timer set for 8:00 am and nothing by 9:00 am. spoke to office and we could not figure out problem so sending someone out today. it is now 6:00 pm and we have not had any contact with store. Thought about switching to Pinch a Penny for all my pool supplies. One of my trusted employees went to get the buy one get 50% off sale and was told by one of the store workers that he couldn't give us the discount. I called and inquired and was rudely told that I could bring in the receipt and they would reimburse us. I said I'd rather bring it all back based on principal. I was then told Pinch a Penny does not take returns. Doing some research, it appears that Pinch a Penny does take back unopened items. Not a place I want to do business with. read more

Good spot to find supplies for your pool but nothing cheaply priced here. They tempt you with good pool/water toys but the prices are almost double what I can get elsewhere. Just drive a mile down the same street to Toys R Us. Walked out when someone was smoking INSIDE, the back of the store. Staff at this store are miserable.,I have been in here a few times and always greeted with a grunt and basically no help at all. I have asked about a few recommendation on a skimmer basket and pool cleaner hose and get a "I don't know". Hard to support local business when you have to deal with this. Their pool service is unreliable. They make excuses for times in which the pool tech either does not show (called in sick) or the tech did not do the job completely. I told them we have had several issues and I was thinking of using another company and they said, "Well, you had better tell me now if you are going to discontinue so that I don't waste my time going over there." Have used this store a lot, but much prefer the one in Bonita. Went in to get a replacement clock motor to turn on/off the pool. The owner, George, told me I better make sure it's the right one, because there were 2 similar ones' with different voltages. He told me "I should call or check online" with Intermatic, the supplier. I proceeded to go outside, sat on the bench and made calls to the supplier to determine the right one. Hey, how about this Mr. Owner - "why couldn't you do that for me inside the store on your computer & telephone lines? Terrible customer service there all the time. That's why I usually buy my parts/supplies somewhere else or online. I was in a pinch, leaving for 4 days and needed to get it done. Otherwise I would have ordered it online for cheaper. read more

We used this location's pool cleaning service for too long. Nothing but problems at every turn - from billing to maintenance. We finally hired someone else to take care of our pool after we were told it had been cleaned when in fact it hadn't, to the point that we could no longer swim in it because it was so dirty. Too many no shows, and too many stories about what wasn't happening. Don't waste your money on substandard service. Maybe they should just stick to retail and leave the servcing to professionals. read more

Horrible!!! I had an appointment and they did not show, so I called to find out. First, the person who answered the phone called it another business. He said there was nothing he could do because he was overwhelmed and left alone. I was told no one could call me to tell me they could not keep the appointment and that maybe in a couple of days they could get to me. In an age of cell phones no one could call? Really? I was told the owners wife was busy running errands and could not call either. I called someone else and had them out that day. Never had a problem here. I started going to another Pinch a Penny that opened pretty much across the street on Immokalee Rd The last 4 times that I have been there, employees are rude and rush you out the door. One even said that if I wasn't buying anything he needed to ring me up. So if you need a Pinch a Penny, the Aiport Rd North store near Vanderbilt IS by far the best one in Naples!! I will drive out of my way to get my pool supplies just for the good service. read more

If it were possible to give negative stars, I would. Used the store on Immokalee Rd.to take care of our pool for a few months while we where out of town. When we returned, warning lights on the chlorinater were all red, the filter was disgustingly dirty. We waited for someone to show up for the next 2 weeks, no one came, went to the store, where we were told, they came, but the cover was on, so they didn't treat the pool. We were home, but no one called us, no one came to the door to explain that they weren't treating the pool due to the cover. To add insult to injury, when we finally gave up on them, and took our own water sample to the store, we were told the pool was way out of balance and we would need many products to bring it back. I'm still wondering what we paid them for. Apparently the pool had been out of balance for the entire time they were supposed to be caring for it. Isn't that what you hire these folks for? So frustrating, do not trust this business. read more
