I disclosed that there was algae presence (from Hurricane Beryl) and that I just needed the pool vacuumed. I was offered algae service, and I declined. I said I would go in-store to make my payment immediately after it was completed. When I came into the store (right after service was completed) I gathered a bunch of items to add to my service charge (a pool vacuum, a pool stick, putty, two additional parts for my filter cartridge), but I was met with a short lady with an BAD ATTITUDE and a straight bob-cut. She yelled A-C-R-O-S-S the room "THISSS ONE is YOURRRSSSS!" With this look on HER face like "you're disgusting" while rolling her eyes as I was explaining the circumstances of my services. She then walked away & went to the back of the room whispering sweet-nothings to her colleagues WHILE I was being assisted by Nicholas. Don't waste your time here. Even when Nicholas was helping me she decided to come BACK to the front and cross her arms standing beside me then raised her voice saying, "Let me tell you how we do this here!!! We charge for regular vacuuming and chemicals." Yes, I'm aware, but I didn't need chemicals and all I wanted was a vacuum. "GPS shows car turned off at 1:11pm" Yes, but service didn't start UNTIL AFTER Eric made a phone call to the office & verified with me (I had to use google translate) that all I needed was vacuuming. Point blank: Nicholas adjusted my amount due to $50 as we agreed on the phone. Invoice now sent via email. So before I left this lady said with a smirk on her face "issss everythingggg okaayyyy nowww??" I said, "No." She INSISTED on getting louder and cutting me off as I was simply asking this "bad-attitude Bob-cut Lady" to talk to me AND the other staff like we are human because she IS NOT better than any of us. I was initially impressed by Patten. They are knowledgable and timely with their service calls…read more The last one did me in though. I had their tech (Jake) out to repair a leak. He said he fixed it, gave an invoice, asked me to call him if it continues to leak. All good so far, right? It started to leak at the same spot the next day. I had them back out again. In the middle of the visit, I go out to talk with them to find out what's up. He said he must of tightened something too tightly and caused a seal to break, and now it needs to be replaced. Not my fault, right? No, it's my fault. I had to buy a new part. Things happen, fine. I'm a little upset but I'll live. Now the pressure in my pool is high, and Jake advises a cleaning. I agree. He asks to use my chemical, the last of my Muriatic acid. I didn't like this at all, but he didn't give me a choice. Now I have to take time out of my day to go buy new chemical. During the filter cleaning, Jake and his help (Kevin) were constantly arguing back and forth. These remarks persisted through the entire visit, and was very unprofessional. They seemed like they were genuinely pissed off at one another. Here I am, now with invoices paid for both visits, and I don't feel good about it at all. There's too many pool repair companies for me to have to deal with the lack of professionalism during the call and additional charges for labor for things they admitted breaking. I guess I'll just have to deal with it, because Patten wouldn't offer to help me on the resulting bill at all. PS. I take that back, there's a .01 (penny) adjustment on my invoice. Seriously.

We DO NOT recommend Patten Pools or his new owner, Bill England. We hired them to replaster and fix…read moreour pool shortly after we bought our house in Grogan's Mill. I forwarded Bill the pool inspection report, and he emailed us a proposal stating what needed to be done, the job duration (7-10 days), and the cost ($6,348). We paid a 1/3 deposit. We told him we had never owned a pool before, and that we were not living in the house yet and would move to The Woodlands (from the East Coast) mid- to end-June. Patten's work was not good. Besides, despite our repeated requests, Bill was not always good at communicating and did not always show up when he said he would (once we paid someone to be at our property to give Bill access to the property, but Bill did not show up or call; after one hour of waiting we called and emailed Bill and he said he had a last minute emergency - but did not have the courtesy to call!). May and June rains delayed Bill's work. He called to ask if it was ok to start the work a couple of weeks later. We said ok (since we would move in mid-June). What he did not say was that the rains could ruin our pool and that we should get someone to take care of it until he could get to it. On June 11, we found a deep-green pool, and a pump with a huge leak problem at our new home. I called and emailed Paten; they sent someone who told us we would have to sandblast the flagstone. We got stuck paying an extra $1,500 to clean the now green-gunky flagstone - the same flagstone that two and a half weeks before had looked just fine, and that the rains and Patten's inattention and carelessness had contributed to turn green. (Bill could deny any wrongdoing by pointing out that it was OUR pool and our responsibility, and that we had only hired him to replaster it and repair it, and not to clean it, right? I ask, as a business owner, is it not appropriate to alert your customers of the risk that the rains may pose to their pool and the surrounding flagstone? Particularly to customers who have told you they have never owned a pool before and who are still on the East Coast?) A few days later, on June 24, his crew replastered our pool. They left a mess in our backyard. Two days later, I showed Bill the mess; he said someone would come clean it up. It took him a week and two reminders to clean it up - and not entirely. To this day, we have remains of plaster in our backyard. "The pump needs to run continuously for 72 hours", Bill wrote in his email instructions to us after he started the pool. But the pump suddenly stopped working the day after. We called him to tell him the pool pump had shut off, even though we had not come near it. He showed up at our house a few hours later, turned the pump on again, and explained that he had left the timer on because he was not wearing his prescription glasses the day before, and could not see well. His unapologetic tone was insulting. Patten's proposal included initial daily brushing of the pool, after replastering. Most pool experts recommend brushing once or twice a day for the first 14 days (we did not know this until a couple of weeks ago). We do not recall Patten's staff coming daily to brush our newly plastered pool; they may have come every other day or every three days, and only for a few days. Patten's proposal also included changing the GFCI, pool light bulbs and gaskets. That, in response to a problem identified in the pool inspection report we had given Bill. To this date, water condensation around the lights cause the GFCI to trip shortly after we turn them on. Patten did not address this problem - or perhaps the gaskets were improperly placed, who knows. We will have to pay another contractor to solve this problem. Bill's email instructions warned us "no swimming for one week". However, 3 weeks and $7,937.03 later, we still could not swim in our pool; and we were being charged extra for work that we understood was part of what we paid for. Also, Bill's email instructed us to "not put the cleaner in the pool for 2 weeks"; most pool experts (we later learned) warn against using wheeled devices within 28 days after replastering a pool because doing so sooner could cause wheel tracks to show on the pool finish. Someone from Patten put our Polaris cleaner in our pool on July 13, exactly 19 days from the date they started replastering our pool. On July 14, I went to Bill's office and left him a $6,026.03 check and a note saying we were less than satisfied with how the work was handled and the lack of communication. The next day I emailed him asking to not put salt in our pool (he said he would do so by July 17th, contradicting his own email instructions that said "no salt for 4 weeks"!). All we got was an email from him asking if we were switching to chlorine. No words from him since. One star b/c we texted him on 4 of July asking him what to do about the mosquito larvae and tadpoles breeding in our waterfall and he promptly replied (Clorox!).

I was attended by an employee who said was the manager, she told me that they had cleaned my filter, I explained to her that nobody had notified me that this service was going to be carried out because I had already bought new filters (not installed) since they were broken. She showed me a photo of her phone that was supposed to be my filters (dirty) but I don't recognize the place as my house, nor did she show me a photo of them clean and she told me very angry and arrogant that the service had already been done and although it was her fault for not having sent me a previous email as they do with everyone, and she stated that they would no longer provide me with the service, I told her that I wanted to talk to the owner and she only limited herself to say that the owner didn't have a personal email were I could contact her directly, only the general email of the company that is the one that she manages. Definitely, if the owner is not aware of this, they will end her business with a terrible reputation, because it is not possible for them to deceive you and kick you out! Stay away from these people while they are still running that business, they need to learn how to conduct their business more professional..!

I cannot tell you how many times I have come in and not only do they associate me by name but they ask about my family, my animals and my job! it is a safe haven to sit down and talk while receiving excellent service. 2. I have a swim spa. many years ago, I walked into their store - clueless - about how to take care of my swim spa. Greg came by my HOUSE on numerous occasions to see the situation, look at the reading and figure out how to have an excelllebt swim spa. My pool looks amazing and I have never had any issue with clarity, sanitary issues and they even address other issues that even Swim Spas couldn't help me with. They have ALWAYS gone above and beyond - even if it has nothing to do with the regular issues they always address. 3. Old school customer service. You can't find this anywhere else. They will help you and work with you to attain your pool goals and under your price budget. 4. Respect: Many of the complaints I have seen is due to the lack of respect regarding parking with Hero's Martial Arts. There is into a few spots to park in and they work closely to ensure that their customers have the parking needed to quickly and efficiently get in and out with no hassle. I tried appreciate this because many times I am in a rush and leave my car running. It is nice to know they nicely cut quickly and effectively ask those who are not a part of the store to please respect the boundaries established by the management teams and to park in the designated areas for all the establishments on this located in this parking center. It is nice to know that during the busiest times, Saturdays. That I always have a place to park because they enforce the rules. I know people aren't always pleased. But I know that NONE of the true patrons are the ones complaining. And the true patrons are the ones whise reviews are the truest to the excellent customer service received. 5. Grace. Grace is one of the highest compliments I can give this family owned business. Once a person is a customer - they are treated as family. They have shown me grace and understanding more times than I can count. And that is missing in today's day and age. So, my friends, I implore you to go in say hello and see for yourself. I write this review only because I know they true foundation for what they stand for the service given and I will say that the negative reviews are not needed. Decide for yourself and go into their store and see what makes them stand out and stand above all the rest of the pools store in town!

In addition, he has never held us to the 30 day contract cancellation. He has refunded us money when it was warranted. He has made good on any issues we have had and even promptly helped us on issues that he didn't have to. He honestly told us about some items that he could fix or ones that we could save $$ because he thought they were still under warranty. However, like with all growing companies, some techs are good and others are not as good. Our original tech was amazing! After that we had some issues with several of them. However, if you think you won't find this at a lot of companies, be warned. It is not a high paying job and these are mainly young adults. However, know the owner is honest and has made good on all issues and they are worth a try. I think as he gets help that sticks around and has time to vet some of them, the service will be increased all around and they will be worthy of 5 stars again
