Today I had the pleasure of interacting with the owner, who parked his company van in a way that completely blocked the view of oncoming traffic for anyone trying to exit the community. The car ahead of me struggled to get out, so I rolled my window down and let him know he was blocking visibility at an actual intersection. His response? "What do you want me to do?" I suggested the obvious: pull up a little so people can see. He said he couldn't because it would block the guest lane. I suggested pulling to the other side. His response? That would block the resident lane. Here's the fun part: there was no one in either lane and still about 100 feet of empty space in every direction. But apparently, basic spatial awareness and public safety were too much to ask. So instead, the owner of this company chose to block an intersection, argue about it, and refuse to move--despite being told it was dangerous. I still couldn't see oncoming traffic, and when I finally made a left turn, I almost got T-boned. If this is how this man handles a simple, common-sense situation--being made aware that he's creating a legitimate safety hazard--I can't imagine trusting him with heavy equipment, construction, or something as basic as pool maintenance. I wouldn't trust him to dig a hole in my backyard, let alone manage a pool, even if he were the last option on Earth. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and wildly irresponsible. Hard pass.

Pete will likely reply and blame us as he has done for other negative reviews. We gave him multiple attempts to fix the problems to no avail and many times he blamed us even though we did what he asked and more. He started in October and today in February, we finally asked him not to return because enough is enough and we need to hire another company to fix his mistakes. He stated we had unrealistic expectations. He may post pictures and from afar it may look good but up close the details are messy and unprofessional at best. Hoping to save someone the experience we have had.

Although that was a red flag, I decided to give a try since they guaranteed at least eighty percent of the spots to be removed. However, even the dirt from the pool floor wasn't removed, which makes me question whether it was properly vacuumed. That was discussed prior to the start of work, and I was assured this would be completely taken care of. Brittany is super nice, however I found the labor insufficient unfortunately. The first red flag should have been that they required a $95 payment before even scheduling a tech to come out. And even after making the online payment, I had to reach out to them to confirm receipt and prod them to send out a technician. In short, my pool pump stopped drawing water effectively. I was stumped after checking the PCV joints, O-rings, the impeller, and having backwashed my line. The first tech spent all but 12-15 minutes on site to say he didn't know what was wrong but suspected a clog in the line. He said he didn't have the equipment on hand (the equipment being a $12 bladder kit I picked up at Ace Hardware later that same day -- something any pool tech should carry with them). After I tested the line for a clog with the bladder kit, water appeared to be flowing just fine. After several unanswered phone calls to PoolTek, I requested another tech come out. I told a man named Robert (presumably a manager I can't recall, that I had never had a pool repair company come out to my place and not leave with a fix or a solution. A second tech came out and after about 25-30 minutes, he also concluded there was a clog. So, that's when I contacted Dr. Pool Leak Detection to have them pressure-test the line for a clog/ leak ($300 more dollars out of pocket). While I thought it a bit pricey, the tech who came out was very thorough and gave me the results I expected -- NO leak and NO clog. He also pointed out a steady drip of water from under the pump, which I overlooked beforehand. I decided to purchase a pool pump seal repair kit for about $35 and disassembled the pump. Sure enough, I saw worn and broken seals/gaskets. I replaced them, reassembled the pump, and am happy to report it's working perfectly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING POOLTEK POOL SERVICES - unless you like throwing away money and being gaslit.
