The two stars are for the woman who helped us in the front. She was incredibly kind and understanding, and very knowledgeable as well. My sister and I went in together last week. She wanted a cartilage piercing and I was going to change jewelry in 8 piercings I have. I was going to get all solid gold so I was planning on spending at least, and most likely over $1000. The woman in the front was very kind and descriptive explaining the jewelry types to my sister and I but when she went to ask the piercer a question he was rude to her and basically brushed her off asking why she would need to ask another question. He then came out and was rude to me answering the question. He literally went on a rant about how my nose piercing couldn't accommodate a hoop. I've had a hoop before, but I understood where he was coming from as my nostril is pierced very high. For some reason, even though I said right away I'd be fine without ones he went on and on in a rushing and rude way about why it wouldn't work and then rushed back to the back room. I didn't get his name unfortunately. My sister and I ended up leaving because she didn't want that man piercing her and I didn't want to give so much money to and a large tip to someone so rude and dismissive of his customers and coworkers. Thanks again to the woman in the front for having such great customer service, but I will never return to this shop. read more

Do not go here! I went a week ago to get my belly button pierced and it almost immediately got infected. The piercer did not put in too small/short jewelry which caused part of the jewelry to start going into the hole from the piercing. It was very painful and I had to go to another place to get the jewelry changed out. This place told me that if I had waited longer they would have had to cut out the piercing. The infection is all red, painful, and oozing pus. The piercer also did not explain what he was doing when he was doing it so I am unsure if the needle/ jewelry was sanitized. They also severely over charged me. Save yourself some trouble and go somewhere else. read more

I was visiting the US and having problems with a 6 week old nostril piercing. The seam of a hoop had gotten stuck inside the nostril and wouldn't move. The woman at the desk was lovely and I selected one of the cheaper priced nose studs (thank goodness). After a short wait I was taken back and the man who did my nose forced the hoop through the internal scab/scar before removing it and replacing it with the long stud that he then bent into an l-shape. This is where issues started. After 8 hours the stud was swallowed up by inflammation. The l-bar was left FAR too long, and scraped the inside of my nostril causing bleeding and preventing any healing from possibly taking place. When I carefully managed to flip it around, it stuck out my nose a good 4 millimeters! I ended up going to black pearl to see if the piercing was salvageable (it was) and the woman there was excellent but mentioned that she gets a lot of customers wanting their piercings from pin cushion fixed. Wish I had known earlier as the $35 jewelry was abandoned. Final nitpick- charging $5 to change out jewelry with a piece picked from the shop floor made me roll my eyes a bit. Been plenty of places and my experience is if the piece is from the shop, changing it out is free (this was the case at black pearl). I would not go back again and wouldn't recommend it to friends. read more

BE CAREFUL!!! I went to pin cushion with a friend and got my cartilage pierced...3 weeks later no problems until I wake up to find it swollen and engulfed in my skin. When I called to tell them what happened they said this has never happened before and all they could tell me is "just push it through". The next day I went to the shop I got my nose pierced at and told them what happened and they changed it into a hoop for me and told me if I had left it a few more days I'd be at the doctor with someone cutting my ear open to get it out. Will not be returning here or recommending to anyone. read more

I have come here for many piercings over the years being a cape cod native. this is really one of the only well-known piercing shops on the cape so they do get quite busy. I have never had any problem with any of the piercings I have received but the prices are definitely inflated compared to the off-cape prices I come across. The customer service definitely wouldn't be considered top notch. there is usually only one gentlemen working ( I would assume he is the owner since he is the only piercer/person I have seen there in 8 years) and he doesn't give you any acknowledgment until it is your turn to be taken back and pricked. This is annoying when you are only coming in for a simple question or for a piercing care sheet. overall, I would rather go off cape or down to Provincetown where there are a few GREAT piercing shops, but this is definitely the best option in the area. read more

An okay place if you've done your research. You had better know what you want pierced and what is the best type of jewelry to have there. I was looking for my 14th piercing, so I know what the piercer should be recommending by this point. He kept pushing the cheapest jewelry. The needle used, though a perfectly sterile single-use one, was rather dull. They also don't have a large variety of jewelry types in stock. Prices were average for Cape Cod - higher than off-Cape, but not terribly inflated. Sadly, one of the only half-way decent places in the area. If you can make it, there are amazing shops in Provincetown, and a new one in Easton that are well worth the trip. read more

I took my 35-year-old sister here for her birthday and we were so excited and did all of the research beforehand. From the start, everything was a bit weird. The man was rude and we felt time pressured to choose the right earrings, which were $200. They didn't allow us to be in the same room because of "covid protocols"....even though we were just in the same, similar size room and had masks on (for an ear piercing). My sister wanted to get my opinion on the placement and the man didn't let her out of the room. He actually told her she's not allowed to leave. She ended up changing her mind because she felt so uncomfortable and he had to take very deep breaths to calm himself down which made her feel even more uncomfortable. He angrily told her she couldn't refund the earrings that never touched her ears. Thankfully, we did get refunded by the nice women but we this experience was nothing we thought it would be. read more

I was not nervous at all to go back to get a double conch piercing. Super mindful about cleanliness and they are continuing to keep everything spotless. My daughter had her nose pierced here about two years ago before the shop changed hands.The woman that did it was very knowledgeable but extremely rude and my daughter was scared to go back. Since the shop has changed hands we had been hearing great things about them so we decided to give it another try. Matt and (I am sorry, I forget her name, I believe it his wife) were such a breath of fresh air. So nice and so patient. They took the time to show my daughter all her options and advise her on what would be best even though we were only spending 10 dollars. I had a very nice chat with both of them and would have stayed longer if I could have. All the products are top notch, especially the bongs (for me, not my daughter). The whole process was very smooth. The staff (everyone) is so professional and particular, it was so appreciated. Very sterile, very precise, very quick process. Please note that Pin Cushion uses a needle - not a gun - which makes ALL the difference in properly lining up the piercings! It does not hurt any more, and it is just as quick. I came here two times to get my nostril and septum pierced, I had Brian do it and he did a great job. Unfortunately, for my septum I ended up with a defective piece of jewelry. One hour after having it put into my fresh piercing, it popped out and I couldn't get it to stay back in. I brought the clicker in the next day, and he "adjusted it" and made it tighter. When I got home, it was so hard to close that I couldn't do it without hurting my hands. Plus, the clicker part is off center, so it's obviously broken or defective. I asked for a refund or to exchange it, and Brian refused and got mad. He told me that I must have broken it and that I probably played with it and that's why it fell out. He said to come in again to have it fixed again, but the last time he "fixed it" he made it even worse. It is now to the point where I would have to go to a piercing place just to get it put in/removed. Needless to say this is ridiculous, what if it gets stuck to something and I have to pull it out in an emergency? Or it gets infected and I have to take it out to clean it or something? I NEED to be able to put it in and take it out myself. All I want is a refund or a exchange for the same product. I didn't appreciate being told that I must have broken it and treated like an idiot. Lesson learned, pincushion is pretty overpriced anyway so next time I'm going to Mooncuster in Provincetown. Horrible experience. read more

Wiped out on my bike and the captive bead of a 15-year-old piercing popped out. Ouch. Stopped into Pin Cushion, which was close by and open late. Guy behind the counter was amazingly nice. Was able to take me into the back immediately, popped the bead in without any issue, and didn't charge me for the service. I was out of there in 5 minutes. Really impressed with the layout and the customer service. Selection looked good. Place was super clean, although they don't put paper down on the piercing table... they just spritz it like a machine at a gym. I'm not used to that, but that may be my weirdness. Just had my septum done 2 days ago. Very very clean place. Very thorough. He was very gentle when I told him I was really nervous. Turns out, I hardly felt it. He did a nice job. Very professional. Of course, they're not there to talk you into getting pierced. Just ask your questions & don't take things personal. I asked probably very repetitious questions that they've heard an annoying amount of times, and he was still happy to answer them. I've gone to this establishment at least six times over almost ten years to get new piercings. No matter the type of piercing, they were nice and professional and knew what they were doing. I don't remember the name of the piercer I've gone to, but I tend to get the same two guys--both equally nice to me. I love this place! And I'm not even a human pin cushion. Proof that it's got something for everybody, right? This has been my favorite shop to buy a glass pipe for over ten years. I still have a BEAUTIFUL pipe that I bought here sometime in 2003-2004. And it's still one of my favorites! The staff is always very friendly and a pleasure to work with. Their prices are very fair and honestly, a lot better than any of the places near me (I'm closer to Boston). They have a somewhat small selection, but the quality is there, and it's a really good selection. I also get earrings for my girlfriend from Pin Cushion. The selection for their plugs and earrings is insane! They have tons of options in pretty much every size. I just broke my newest piece from there, so it looks like another trip down to Plymouth is in the works! read more

Unfortunately, I have a lot to say about pincushion. I have gotten quiet a few piercings from them because I always heard they were the best. Every one I have gotten has waiter rejected or gotten infected, I always thought it was me! This wasn't the case, when I finally got them all checked out. I was told I was pierced completely wrong. Wrong placement, and wrong jewelry! I am sad to write this review because I have given them a lot of business but it is just not worth the money. Down the street black pearl is a great tattoo/piercing shop with the best customers service ever. They will care about the quality of ur piercing, and the way you feel personally! This is so important because the communication is a big aspect of a piercing. They are very friendly and follow Covid regulations beautifuly.
