I was thrown off by white meat chicken chunks that seemed to be added at the last minute, not stewed into it. Usually it is dark meat. My friend got the lamb rogan josh. This dish was really good. The garlic naan was good. We were given the check before being asked if we wanted dessert. My friend already knew she wanted the mango kofta, so she asked for the menu again. I got the mango mousse cake. I'm glad we did! Both were really tasty. From the moment we entered the restaurant. A host was ready to greet us and take us to our table. There were many places to sit from booths to individual tables. When we asked the waiter what he would recommend, we were given a variety of choices and we definitely believe we chose well. I hate to compare this experience from that I had with Rupa Vira but to provide some context, I had to... Firstly, on 3/29/2023, I checked yelp and this place had mixed reviews so though it gave me pause, I err on the side of those giving this place the greater of the stars. Pind has lunch options which came with soup or salad, naan and biryani plus complimentary side dishes (chickpea veg style). We ordered Goat type dish, Butter Chicken and Shrimp Biryani. Each dish was delicious especially when wrapping them in that very light and tasty Naan. And I want to point out, they were brought in just perfectly timed. We were attended and waited on as well as can be possibly done! So kodus! Although, I alluded to having the most delicious food at that other Indian restaurant just 3 weeks ago, service there was so bad that left a bad taste to my mouth. So I wanted to check Pind out how they fare in comparison-- Au contraire, this place made our lunch such a pleasant experience that's worth returning to. And the unpretentious food tasted good as well! I can taste the different spices in every dish. I ordered mild heat, it was pretty mild so perhaps next visit I would opt for medium heat instead. My gosh, you're gonna love all the food here! My best friend had been raving about this place's lunch buffet, so I decided to go up to treat him for his birthday. It's in one of those big brand-new planned town square type areas anchored by a movie theater (Alamo) and flanked by giant bright (free cuz hey, it's the suburbs) parking garages. The interior isn't glitzy and glamorous (most walls are bare and there's a wall of windows that look out to a giant bright parking garage entrance), but it doesn't need to be. The service was slower than expected, but it was a Friday night and short-staffed everywhere is now the norm. The food was spectacular! Medium heat was just right on the malai kofta and the chicken tikka masala. Both were generous portions for an adult. The garlic naan was absolutely superb---crispy where it needed to be, garlickly here-there-and-everywhere, and served hot and sliced into manageable triangles. The appetizer sampler is a must for newbies who want to try an array of apps (my favorite was the fried paneer). The mango lassi (which I don't like to order cuz I can make it so easily at home) was absolutely amazing--sweet and salty in just the right balance. A great big portion and definitely worth getting two. There's a 10% off dine-in Yelp coupon that we were told applies only to orders within the Yelp app although the coupon says "dine-in" but oh well. Saag was salty and had a extreme of ginger. Tested if I was eating a medicine. The texture and flavor were completely off! None of us can eat much of it. We thought malai kofta might compensate if sometimes an entree doesn't get the touch it needs. Sorry to say, it was plain cream, I can test uncooked cream.......with off yellow color. Naan were acceptable, seemed to be baked in oven, which was good and only hope that at least something was worth of bucks. It might be one off experience but as we are visiting from outside, I can't say that for sure. The one of the two servers was not very welcoming and seemed tired, which I understand. Pind is the best Indian restaurant that I've been to in Northern Virginia! I have only been for the lunch buffet, and I enjoyed it very much! It was a great deal at 12.95! They have such a wide assortment of dishes that aren't typically found at other Indian buffets. When I was there, they had cauliflower in a tomato cream sauce, green curry, stir fried okra, shrimp biryani, tandoori chicken, fish curry, paneer, goat curry, and so much more! This is perfect for vegetarians, pescatarians, and anyone who loves food! Everything was very flavorful and didn't have a super greasy taste, that I sometimes find at other Indian restaurants. My only complaint is that the food was a little salty, so it'd be nice if they cut back on salt. Customers can always add more :) Good service and great food! I've been to Pind many times over the last several years and the food is always very good. However, the service is absolutely the worst!! Every. Single. Time. The staff is friendly and it seems like they are doing their best, but it's like they simply do not understand what service is all about. There is zero ambiance, but in the past the food has made up for the poor acoustics and lack of atmosphere. We went to Pind to celebrate my husband's birthday and brought our 3 kids (ages 16, 21, 24). We have never been able to convince them to try Indian food but they agreed to try it since it was their dad's birthday, and Pind is where he wanted to go. It was Friday night at 7:30pm and restaurant was not busy. We planned ahead and made a reservation but their was no need. Just trying to place our drink order was a huge undertaking as we could not get a waiter to come back to the table once we were seated. Then we waited forever for the drinks to arrive. We waited at least 30 minutes for someone to finally take our dinner order (we actually wanted appetizers, as well, but gave up). When we were finally able to place our dinner order, we requested two orders of naan (the extra order based on our fear of the waiter not returning for a very long time) and a bowl of the daily soup for my husband. The naan arrived when we were half-way through dinner but the soup never did come. The food was good and we all enjoyed our meals. However, my 24 yr old son came town with a severe case of food poisoning within 3 hours of leaving the restaurant (he ordered the Crab Curry so I DO NOT recommend). He was violently I'll for 12+ hours. Sadly, this will be our last visit to Pind. Life is too short for bad service and the risk of food poisoning. read more

We used to dine here a lot up until we changed our diet a couple of years ago, but we decided to come back. Glad we did: the place still has a clean modern look- high ceiling, nice light fixtures and a tile floor. Smells great when you walk in, none of the fried aroma some have. Came on a very busy Friday evening, a bit too noisy for our taste, but it didn't affect the attentive service. Started with vegetable Samosas. They were perfectly freshly fried, dry to the touch, crispy with spicy filling. The best part was the bed of two sauces they sat on. One was savory spicy, the other was sweet Tamarind based. For entrees we picked the Lamb Vin D Alho and Goat curry. The lamb was tender and the sauce was spicy and flavorful. We started with it, and by the time we finished we were full, that attests to the generous portion size. Before we asked to pack the goat entree we tasted it. Now instead of it "tasting like chicken ", it actually tasted like beef - but a very tender one, brisket like. Instead of overeating we opted for a dessert. And was it delicious: we tried the Vermicelli with rose syrup over home made ice cream. Very special, never saw it anywhere before. The price is very reasonable: $54 for such a great meal.
