Pindar vineyards is my favorite stop on the north fork of Long Island. I really love all of their wines and always send a case home to myself after I stop in for a tasting. They have a great space, are following COVID-19 protocols seriously, while still maintaining a nice time. My favorite wines include: Summer Blush, Sweet Scarlet, Pythagoras, as well as many of their reserve wines. They have many seasonal wines which are excellent as well. Their Prosecco is a good option too if you're looking for some bubbly. They are reasonably priced! I just wish I could find their wines in Manhattan without having to get it shipped. I always make it a point to stop here any time that I go out to the Hamptons and make a nice day trip of it. read more

Went wine tasting with a Metro North getaway package in July. Pindar was one of my favorite North Fork Vineyards. The ambiance was wonderful especially the sunflower fields which surround the vineyard. At the tasting since I like big bold reds was the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel Select 2015. I bought a few bottles and enjoyed with a beef dinner. Definitely go here if you are in North Fork for wine tasting. read more

Wonderful seating outdoors this past summer, and with a wine flight in front of me, it was a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon . So many good wines to choose from and friendly staff. The wine, however, I thought to be cheap and way too sweet and I tried both reds and whites. Definitely a nice place to hang out but for quality, I would head to bedell next door. read more

My friend and I visited this vineyard and we had a great time. The vineyard was a bit crowded but we were able to enjoy the grounds without bumping into other people. We were part of a bus ride day trip to the Long Island North Fork area to different wineries and we saw some other tour groups as well. The weather was beautiful so we were able to enjoy the outdoor patio comfortably. The patio was huge and they had areas where you can sit in the sun or shade. We also walked around outside and took some pictures in the vineyards which was cool. The staff were cool, welcoming and answered people's questions without rushing. Since we were part of a tour we had a choice of wines we could sample. Unsurprisingly like other reviews my favorite wine was the winter white which was pretty popular. We met some other ladies from our tour and just enjoyed our last glasses of wine until we headed to the next winery. This is definitely a place to come and chill out and enjoy at your own leisure on a beautiful sunny or fall day. read more

If you love wine, day-drinking, and chill awesome people, you definitely have to plan a day out in Pindar Vineyards! AMBIANCE: Pindar has a very relaxed welcoming vibe, right from the minute you walk in. (Beware of the cats on the front porch, if you're allergic, but they don't approach people anyways.) On some days, they have live music, which adds a nice buzz to the air! They have a few tables inside, but if you want to snag one, the earlier you get there, the better. I do however, prefer to chill directly at the tasting bar, but please note that there is no seating available at the tasting bar. They also have a private tasting room, but I cannot comment on it as I have never used it. SERVICE: I have been here several times, and have never ever been disappointed. You are greeted with a smile from the moment you walk in, and all of the associates are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I definitely learn something new every time I go there. I highly recommend participating in one of their special events if you have the chance. I personally have taken the Champagne Tour and the Barrel Tasting Tour, and most recently enjoyed their Pairing w/ North Fork Doughnut Co, and definitely look forward to trying out more! FOOD: For most of the year, there really isn't any. They do have crackers and cheese for purchase, but ideally, you should probably eat before you arrive. In the summer however, they do have food trucks, so you can simply check their website for the schedule. Additionally, you can pack yourself an awesome picnic and bring it, so long as you eat outside (not inside the main tasting room). There is plenty of seating outside on their patio, complete with umbrellas for cool shade. Just be aware that if you're there on a day that is slightly more on the windy side, they may not allow you to open the umbrellas due to safety reasons. There is also additional seating in the "backyard". WINE RECS: Rosé: Summer Blush, Red: Isabella, White: Viognier (But all of their wines are amazing, to be honest!) NOTES: There is ample additional parking on the side/back. Don't feel discouraged if the front looks full upon arrival. Out of all the Long Island Vineyards, Everyone know Pindar. They were the first to put a face on the Long Island Wine region. My dad owned a supermarket in the Hamptons back in the late 70s. There was no "Wine Trail" back in the day. It was just a buncha potato farms out here. I'm proud to say that I was able to see the personal computer boom as well as the growth of the Long Island Wine region. I love Pindar, its a friendly wine that you'd bring to a BBQ. It's a must for me ito pass by to this vineyard whenever I am in The North Fork area. Today is not an exception. One Saturday afternoon, at 5:30 pm we went. Normally , it closes its business at 6 PM. We missed few of the things they offered like music enterntainment, tour and the wine tasting. Glad to know though that on summer Saturdays, they open late the register till 6:30 pm and the picnic area till 8 PM. We still get the chance to buy few bottles for gifting ( we know exactly what we are getting) and a chilled bottle, my favorite rose wine, for consuming. Most of the time, they put up a bottle or two on sale. Of course, I did not pass the opportunity to buy the bottle that is on sale. The indoor room does not allowed outside food during tasting which is situated in the middle part. On one side of the room near the entry door is the sale register with displays of their products and some accesories and paraphernalias. On the other side of the room, lots of wine related merchandise are on sale which includes refrigerate cheeses , chilled wines, crackers, etc. Two rooms are accesible for customers drinking and eating pleasure, outside food is even allowed. A picnic umbrella dining area is right pass the door of the main room. The picnic pavilion is right after it. It was so peaceful to hang out on any of these area with an exceptional vineyard view. A plus, the public is allowed to have picnic on the ground, either using the provided picnic tables or bring in your own blankets. Its worth any penny you spend in this place. Pindar has a great set up even during the pandemic. They have a very large area out doors with spaced apart picnic tables and you can also bring your own seating. You are also allowed to bring your own food. We brought sandwiches and then bought a bottle of wine at Pindar. The staff with open the bottle for you and give you cups. Due to the pandemic rules we had to buy a snack with the bottle of wine which was fine. We set up our own beach chairs on the lawn and were able to enjoy the live music. We wanted to arrange a special day for out-of-town friends and Pindar did not disappoint. We arranged a tour and private tasting for our group of six, which I was a bit apprehensive about, fearing they'd be bored. But the tour was terrific. Nancy, our guide, is extremely knowledgeable about both Pindar and North Fork viniculture in general, and the history of this relatively young industry here on NoFo is fascinating. When we arrived Nancy was running a minute or two late, finishing with another group, and a friendly man instantly offered us a taste of the Sauvignon Blanc while we waited, which was v ery nice. I found out later he was Pindar Damianos, the GM and nameskae of the winery. After our impressive tour, we tasted several wines in a private room. I realized that, while I don't care for the heavy, oaky taste of many Chardonnays and have avoided them for years, the Chardonnays out on NoFo are lighter and delicious - at least the ones we tasted here. We also enjoyed and bought bottles of the Cuvee Rare (sparkling) and the Viognier for dinner at Southold Social (which didn't yet have its liquor license.) It was a wonderful day! read more

Nice location. The owners are friendly and seem to genuinely care about their patrons. They adhered to social distancing and maintained areas clean throughout. The vineyard views are great. Though no dancing the live music is fun. You can bring your own food or sample their limited offerings. The pizza isn't great but go for the pretzels - definitely recommend bringing your own spread and grabbing drinks and listening to music. Prices for drinks are reasonable. Great for friends, families with and without kids, on a date. They're open during the colder season into December if you're in that direction. read more

Over the past weekend my husband and I went to Pindar for champagne tasting. Our guide Nancy was wonderful she taught us so much about champagne, wine as well as the history of the vineyard and the town itself. Stopped here while on a wine tour with a friend and I think they may be my second or third favorite winery. I loved there tatsing set up although everything was offered for a fee. I came on a bus trip so we were offered free tastings while everyone else had to pay a fee. You are also able to pay for crackers, cheese or sliced meats to accompany your tasting experience. The white winter and the isabella red wines were my favorites. The staff were friendly and helpful in offering wine options. Afterwards we went out on the sun deck which was huge and relaxing. They also had sunflowers for sale at a $1.00 each but you go out and cut them yourself. The Damage: The tasting were average prices, a few dollars for a few sips and then you can buy your own glass or bottle. Enjoy and make sure to have a designated driver! Review # 1 for a trio of vineyard reviews due to being on a wine tour with a bunch of friends. Pindar was our first stop and I had actually been here once before with some family/my girlfriend. It's a spacious winery as the tasting room can pack plenty of groups coming in via limo (we were one of them). A very wooden, rustic decor makes up the inside area. Head outdoors and there's a covered patio with chairs as well as another area further down near the grape vines with live music. It sets up that true "Long Island Wine Country" feel you might be looking for. Disclaimer: I'm really a beer kind of fella, but I'll dabble in wines now and then. If I do go wine, I like em sweet, and Pindar had a nice selection of different styles separated by flavoring, style, and color. I mostly stuck to Chardonnays and Rieslings which were all light with plenty of fruity finishes. One standout was the Gewürztraminer, a dessert wine that had a great blend of sweetness and might actually be something I would choose to drink outside of a vineyard, maybe over beer! Overall, this was a great first stop on our LI wine tour, and beyond that, a quality vineyard worthy of your own stop, if you're looking for some wine country love on the isle. read more

This was our second stop on a bachelorette party winery tour and it was a great choice. There was live music, lots of people (from young adults out for the day to families and everything in between), and thankfully a ton of seating options to enjoy a beautiful day. My only concern was that it was INCREDIBLY busy so it was not exactly quick to get our wines, but the vibe was so fun that it didn't really matter. They have many bars open indoors and out to get you what you need, and the staff is incredibly gracious and helpful (including assisting me in making a reservation in advance and in addressing our bus driver), so it's all good. I would definitely recommend Pindar if you are looking for a fun stop on the North Fork. read more

My husband and I went on 5/28/17, with no grand expectations. We ended up liking the vineyard a lot. Tasting cost is $10 for 5 choices, bottles go at reasonable prices variating from $10-$27. There's also an abundance of seating choices from indoors to patio and lawn seating. Staff is knowledgeable on their product and very friendly. Also, the crowd on the day we visited was unpretentious this to me is a major plus. It was very refreshing seeing families together picnicking on the lawn enjoying a bottle or two. My wife and I went out east today on a rainy damp day, no destination just taking a ride. I figured we would end up at the Outlet Mall and do some early Christmas shopping (arrgh) Then she said let's go wine tasting ok I'm in. we went to Pindar and were the only ones there at the time (great) our taster named Terry was very knowledgeable my wife was in aww and wonder, myself I am pretty well versed in wines as a chef for the last 40 years. My wife and I had a Great experience visiting Pindar Vineyards. We visited on a Sunday which turned out to be a great day to visit, endless parking don't be fooled buy just the spots out front they are more at the back. The tasting room is huge with two tasting bars which is more than enough. After tasting, off to the side you can select your favorite bottle. If you would like a chilled bottle they got you covered with the refrigerator off to the side. Service is great and the people are great with explaining the difference between the wines and how they are made. Outside you have a huge deck with lots of chairs and tables, huge bathroom area and another deck in the field with chairs and tables and that's usually where the live entertainment is located. In the grass if you can't get a seat near the live entertainment they are picnic benches and tables and lots of space for you to bring your own if you prefer. I look forward to revisiting next time with my picnic basket. read more

Oh my GORGEOUS Vineyard!! Come here in late July or August so that you can pick your own sunflower and take it home. You can also take a lovely photo shoot in their field of sunflowers like we did for a bachelorette limo wine tour. The wines were good and we ate a lunch outdoors on their open patio deck. We took more photos on their jumbo Adirondack chair and along the vines. This vineyard was busier that the others we visited on a weekday. I'm sure that speaks to their wine selection. read more

Surprisingly this was my first time at this winery. It was very spacious on the inside and the outside looks like it would be a good time in the summer! Only part I found strange was the bathrooms were outside and not right out the door on the deck, you had to walk a bit to get to them which would be fine in the summer time but it's cold now. It would be even more annoying if it was raining or snowing. But anyway, we came for the waffle and wine pairing which gave three different wines with 3 different mini waffles-cute concept for sure and only $25 so not bad. The pairings were- waffle with powder sugar and a cuvée brut, waffle with vanilla bean pastry, banana and chantilly cream with a cuvée rare and a waffle with fresh raspberry compote and dark chocolate mousse with cookie dust paired with a raspberry bubbly. My favorites were the waffle with powdered sugar and the cuvée rare which I found to be on the sweet side, despite the women telling us it was a dry wine (unless our wines were mixed up?) I didn't like the last waffle at all as I'm not a fan of fruit mixed with chocolate but the raspberry wine was unique and tasty. They had a nice selection of gift baskets as well.
