The Sannino Vineyard is my favorite vineyard. I have been visiting this vineyard for around 15 years and have enjoyed each visit. The vineyard has grown over the years with a new tasting room having been built including a patio and outdoor seating area. There is a good selection of wine with most having won awards for taste and quality. This is a family run business and one of the family is usually present for any questions. Joining the Wine Club is also an option for receiving a regular selection of wines throughout the year and the potential for discounts on purchases. The pictures that may be attached to this review are many years old from a previous post/review and are of the old building/tasting room. I choose not to remove them for nostalgia purposes. Such a fantastic Vineyard on the East end, serving the best Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc on the Island. This is an Italian family run business doing everything perfectly. Their reds are outstanding and you can't believe this wine is coming from Long Island, you would swear it's coming from Italy. The cheese platter and pizzas and other food choices are delicious, and the entire outdoor setting is beautiful. Sannino Vineyard cheers to a job well done. Definitely one of my favorites and highly recommend to those looking for a great afternoon to hang out with friends and family and enjoy a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon and all the fun of this vineyard. read more

My boyfriend and sister came here on a Friday night for their live jazz night. Beautiful property, we had a great night and enjoyed their white Merlot rose, it was delicious. We regret not buying a bottle to take home. We also picked on some potato chips, cheese, and chocolate. Will definitely come back. read more

I came here for a chocolate and wine pairing. It was so good! We learned how to "taste" correctly. It really does make a difference. We tried 3 different wines. Very tasty. I am not a red wine fan, but I really enjoyed the Tony Brusco! I bought a bottle after the tasting to enjoy at home. After the tasting they allowed us to sit in the "members area" if we wanted. I wanted to try some more wine! I tried the Ridiculous Riesling and a Dry Riesling. They were both good, but I preferred the Ridiculous Riesling a tad more. I ordered a glass and a bottle to take home. I would absolutely come back here for another event. They were so organized! Absolutely shocked. What a missed opportunity for so many years. We have driven by Sannino 100x and never even really noticed it. My wife and I absolutely loved the wine and literally thought they were importing it because it is not your typical Long Island wine. As members of Macari for many years, which we really like, these wines across-the-board seem better. We truly enjoyed all of the variety of wines. So great and we will be returning, often! Really like the atmosphere here! We first went two years ago and learned about the wine slushy which all of us loved! Went back a few more times it's so pretty, peaceful and the staff are all so nice and personable! We just went this past weekend and we were sad to learn there were no more wine slushy also we went to order a bottle of wine and we were told they didn't sell by the bottle in the room unless you were a wine member or purchase as you leave. Our group were disappointed with this winery stop on our afternoon tour recently. Small and uneven pours for the price they charge. When we pointed out the difference from one of us to the other our server just said it was because the guy pouring the wines was new or something. Like, WTF? Also, the wines themselves lacked flavor and all of us in unison said this was the worst of the day. It also just seemed our server had no to little knowledge of the wines, or had a personality to help connect them to us. We also ordered some things to eat and nosh on. They were OK at best. One of my first few vineyards. I was very impressed with their seating and decor. There was both indoor and outdoor seating and a good amount of room to walk around. This is coming from an untrained pallet when it comes to wine. I tried a sampling of the white and reds that they had. I was honestly not to impressed as many did have a similar flavor. There was definitely some difference in the tastes but not a very huge difference. Their small food however is pretty good. I would suggest putting the salsa into another bowl rather than just the packaging it comes in. Despite this, I did find it useful for taking the salsa home. The frozen watermelon drink is also very tasty and a must get if you are there on a hot day. This place is very cute and would be a great spot for a party. I overall enjoyed my experience, but was not too impressed with the wines I tried. read more

Came here on Friday afternoon at around 6. The place was dead but that added to the appeal. The were covid safe with hand sanitizer everywhere. Got the estate flight for $25. They provided 6 pretty good pours of some reds and whites. Will say that 2 were definitely not my favorite but had a white Merlot (which is a type of rose) and it was so interesting and delicious. A little sweet but also a little dry. Very cool combination that I've never had before. We ended up getting a bottle of the rose to split. We also got the charcuterie board ($25) which was delicious but nothing to write home about and a tad expensive. We also got the meat flatbread which we drizzled some of the hot honey on which was absolutely delicious. If you are getting food would stick with the pizza. The service here was amazing. They were super nice and explained all the details to us. We also ended up getting a taste of their mulled wine, which they had just created that day and it was delicious! They offered to let us buy some with the discount for getting a lot, which was great. You know it was fresh because it didn't even have any labels on them. Husband and I decided to do two tasting flights - one white, one red. The wine was just eh, nothing spectacular. Each flight was $25 and 6 small pours. Their outdoor area needs a makeover. Despite having many tables with umbrellas out on the grass near the beautiful vines in the sun, we were seated on the cement patio under a tent (along with everyone else). There were rusty patio tables, and the music was a weird Jersey Shore club lounge vibe. It was so strange and didn't really fit the vibe of a winery. The party of 4 next to us was so loud. We ordered a charcuterie plate but for $25 it was seriously lacking. I'd expect a charcuterie plate to have more than 4 pieces of salami, and the cheese seemed like it was from the supermarket. Nothing with much taste or quality. The parmesan was rubbery/inedible (it should be more crumbly) and we couldn't finish it because it was mostly rind. The olives were legit straight out of a can/jar. The waitress said it came with crackers but it was actually breadsticks. The couple next to us ordered the cannoli chips and creme and it came out IN THE PLASTIC CONTAINER you'd buy it in from the supermarket. Odd. Our waitress was very sweet but I feel like they were understaffed because we had to wait a while to get someone to bring us our check. read more

I came here for the Food and Wine Pairing 101 class that they offered! By taking this class, you will understand how food will affect the taste of wine and to be able to pair one to the other to your liking. The Good - So friendly and willing to help anyone with questions. The owner and his daughter were teaching the class. She took the lead while he was there as an aid to help the most that they could. It was their best interest to have everyone enjoy their time. The Bad - Surrounding sounds made it difficult to hear their demonstration. This class started around 4:30 pm on a Saturday, which is a very busy time for any winery, so the surrounding crowd was big and loud. I saw it on the expression on some of the older folks that they were not able to hear anything the instructor were saying. Me being in my mid 20s was to hear but for those who are 50+ did not get the full experience. The Ugly - Not in an orderly fashion. I am so used to doing things in a particular way, which means that we do things in order according to the paper that is given to me. This tasting did not go that way' we jumped from the first item to the last, then back to jumble up the middle some more. My partner and I went rouge when this happened because we wanted to make this experience our own. Sorry to say that we were disappointed this past weekend. I had specifically picked Sannino since we've been to the older location and had a wonderful time. Service was great and all covid protocols were followed but the food and ambiance were not up to par. When I was modifying my reservation a few days prior, I saw the added option of "covered patio" and made the switch. As we were brought out back, we noticed there was no actual covered patio seating.. we were seated NEXT to a covered patio that was filled with machinery, boxes and miscellaneous items making it completely unusable. It had been drizzling on and off all day so having that covered option would've been convenient. A lot of us tried the tastings and really weren't impressed. We loved it so much more last time we went a few years back. They weren't bad by any means but nothing to write home about. We did try the complimentary spiced wine and that was the unanimous favorite. Lastly, they should really look into ordering a new pizza to offer. The crust was soft and the cheese hardened right up after a few minutes of sitting out as we ate. We all agreed it tasted like a frozen pie. I wish I could've loved the entire experience as much as we were looking forward to. read more

Friendly service and excellent wines. The pours were ample. We accompanied it with the Seahive cheese, which was lovely. We went here for our sixth anniversary a week ago before going to dinner. Extremely friendly staff and a wonderful environment. Everything is clean, well organized, and wonderful. We will definitely be back. We are also fans of Wölffer, lens, Roanoke, and Rafael vineyards. The wines we tried were a tad more on the sweeter side in our taste. The cab Franc was exceptional. It only lost a star because the winds didn't all meet our taste preferences, that does not mean it is not a good vineyard. We all have different tastes. Major disappointment. When we arrived we sat inside - we were the only people inside - about half the tables outside were filled. We ordered a charcuterie board one drink and 1 red flight. The waitress came with the sangria drink for my daughter and then told my husband and I that we had to share ONE glass for the flight - they were running out of glasses. She didn't even bother to rinse the glass between tastings. Very tacky. The wine was, at best, mediocre. My husband was born and raised in Italy, we enjoy wineries but will not be returning to this one. Even the charcuterie board was half of what they give you at other wineries and the waitress came out with it when we were finished with our drinks. I could appreciate this more if it was packed but it was half empty. read more

Went with a large group (14) on a cloudy rainy Thursday. Place was empty we were the only patrons. They asked for $35 per person for a tasting which could be substituted for a glass of wine. We told them we wanted to buy several bottles and didn't need flights or tastings. They still said no. We decided to leave and go to Palmer. We had a great time at Palmer and ordered over 15 bottles of wine. Too bad Saninnos didnt want our business.
