What an amazing experience... Five stars is just not enough... Wolffer Estate Vineyard was the perfect winery for my wife and me. It is also a perfect winery for larger groups as they have an indoor and outdoor tasting area. This place is just beautiful. We sat on the porch looking out over the vineyard like we were in the Alexander Valley. Honestly, we have done the North Fork trail more but will now be a SOFO family as well. Helene and I both enjoy a good Chardonnay and "Wolffer's Pearl" is great, A chard with tremendous body and depth. We had the honor of being on a European Wine Cruise with the wine maker. Roman Roth [and his wife]. He had multiple wine dinners where we had an opportunity to try some of these new red and white wines and really took a liking to them. We joined their wine club as soon as we returned home so we'll have more to enjoy during the year. Let me be honest... I have been drinking and collecting Roman Roth wines for years now and have always enjoyed them. The team that took care of us was amazing. Nothing but smiles and service. We were very lucky to have the opportunity to experience this wonderful visit. The only downside is that the drive from mid-island to the Hamptons can get a little long. Went at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard for the first tim. We made a reservation a couple of days before and were eager to try the wine and the sharing plate. Two of got the Tasting Flights which were 4 sampling of certain wines and the other had a sparking rose, Oblisse. We shared the Host Board, The Triple Cheese Plate, Baked Brie Baguette, and the Honey Ricotta, I drank the Art of the Blend which was wonderful. Our server had a wealth of knowledge about the wines. My only complaint is the pricing. My wife and I have done a lot of wine tastings. A lot of regions, and different countries. The prices felt comparable to drinking wine in Napa Valley. A flight of four wines with 2 oz. pours were $40 each! The group of us were all in disbelief. We ordered the white wine and red wine flights which totaled $80. We also ordered a charcuterie board; that came out to $50! We ordered two bottles, and the total came out to over $300, similar to a nice, upscale restaurant. I understand we were in a touristy area, and Wolffer Estate is well renown, but that pricing was a bit outrageous. It's hard to believe this is not Napa Valley! It's just an amazing venue that delights the senses....the rosé flight on the terrace was perfect for two, and along with the cheeseboard, it was as good as it gets. No wonder there are roving packs of "Instagram girls" in long dresses posing for selfies in front of the vineyards with duck-faced delight proving they made the scene....and it IS a scene; a big one, one of THE places to visit while in the Hamptons. I think this place is honestly a little overhyped especially compared to the wineries on the North Fork that have better wine at more affordable prices with better views and ambiance. That said, everything we had at Wolffer was tasty and I enjoyed my time here. We were able to get a table for two as a walk-in on 4th of July weekend which we recognized was a literal miracle. I've had so many glasses of Summer in a Bottle in my lifetime that I decided to branch out and try their reserve flight, which had a mix of whites and reds and was honestly shocked at how good it was. No idea why Summer in a Bottle has become the wine this spot is known for when they make far better. We ordered an artichoke flatbread and cheese plate which both hit the spot and paired well with our wine selections. As a somewhat big fan of wine, I did not have high expectations for a Long Island winery, but not only did this place have a few tasty options it is also an absolutely stunning spot to enjoy. While visiting the Hamptons I made a reservation here and they were able to easily accommodate when we had one more join our group. Our server was patient with us though a little forgetful. We started with a rose flight and a red flight in order to decide what wine we liked most to drink a bottle of. Their cab Franc was spectacular and that is what I chose. Their summer in a bottle (the most popular of their wines) was also fabulous. My girlfriend chose the cotes de Provence summer in a bottle. We all split a cheese plate which was definitely over priced and in hindsight so many other things looked better on the menu, but we were hungry and it got the job done. We sat at a table facing the vineyards and it was honestly such a beautiful place. One of my favorite rosés so I had to come visit when I was in the area. The vineyard is beautiful very photogenic. I tried the Rosé flight so good. The white flight is good. It's a great way to see which wine I liked. There's a souvenir store so you can get at 10% discount if you dived at the vineyard. You must make reservations in advance, it's very popular and can get packed. Service is ok considering it's a very busy place. Bad experience today. My wife and I are (were?) fans of this wine and we were looking forward to having a glass at the winery. I thought they were open until 7. Pulled in at 6:27. Nearly full parking lot. Walk inside. People everywhere. Walk up to the bar. "Sorry, we're closing up," says one of the young women. The other one indicated it was a little early, but not loud enough. "You can buy a bottle at our boutique!" Well, thanks, but I can buy that anywhere. I wanted to enjoy a glass at the winery. 6:50? Totally get it. 6:45 sure. But if you are going to close more than 20 minutes early, when all you are doing is pouring a glass, then change your time, or make it known on your website or elsewhere when last call is. Back to our car before 6:35. Watched another party walk inside after us. Waited a couple minutes. They didn't come out. Were they served? I don't know. But left us with a crappy feeling. read more

Wow! Wolffer Estate is beautiful. We made reservations for an 11am tasting. At first the place was pretty empty, but it started to fill up. Their patio is beautiful, with the natural wood, chandeliers, and views of the vineyard, you really can't beat it. I loved how they laid their tastings out and made it clear what each wine was like. I went with the Around The World tasting. The wines were really quite delicious, probably because the wines weren't all from NY. It included some of their wines from France and Chile as well. They are of course well known for their Summer in a Bottle rose and it did not disappoint. I ended up buying two bottles to take with me from the wine stand. The snacks were also very tasty, the dip sampler had a great variety and I'd highly recommend it. We also stopped by their Wine Stand later in the day. If you would like to drink wine after the tasting, the Wine Stand is certainly the more economical spot to go. The bottle was about $50 to sip on it at the estate, but you can buy it for $27 at the Wine Stand. Overall such a wonderful afternoon, with gorgeous scenery, and tasty wine. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! read more

We had mistakenly booked reservations at their restaurant (20 mins away) and not their winery, so they sat us at a low-height table near the entrance. We noticed that their outside deck had plenty of empty tables, so we asked if we could sit outside. The waitress gave us a really passive aggressive response about how all the tables were already reserved. Anyway... the wine was good! We tried a flight of "around the world" and a rose flight. We also ordered an Italian flatbread which was extremely overpriced ($24) for the meager amount. I guess they justify high prices based on demand and their epic location, but there was a bit of sticker shock in terms of the tiny portions.
