For the service I will say it's bit weird there sign on their door says open at 11am, but they don't open the door itself til 12:30pm. Bit misleading I will say. The service itself, was pretty indifferent and did feel a little rushed to order, which is bit of Shame considering there no online menus I could find for this place or pictures of menu for here. So when I hit menu for here had to think on my feet what sounded good. Have to say, they had lot of items I don't see any where elsewhere which is great. The triple star, was good, never had scallops, shrimp and chicken fried and then bathed in brown sauce, definitely very good and not overly battered, all veggies were cooked perfectly and well bathed in the sauce. Never re-opened for dine in service after 1 1/2 years and the take out is not as good as the regular menu was very sub-par.

As other's have mentioned, the food is rather greasy. Back in the day, I would opt for the steamed pork dumplings. I still did, up until recently. Even though they were not fried, I would still have to dab them with some paper towel to remove the excess grease. The ambiance is pretty typical for an eat-in Chinese restaurant. This was my first time ever going to this restaurant, the outside looks pretty rundown, makes you not want to go in. Once your inside though, it's actually not that bad, almost gives off a fancy vibe. The food is very cheap, and but surprisingly I was full and the food taste good, nothing to special. An absolutely terrible experience which drove me to pen my first review. Food was brought to the table randomly and seemingly arbitrarily. The soup was thicker than molasses, and the chicken was devastatingly stale. As if the poor food wasn't enough, one of the people serving us was blatantly hostile and rude. Terrible experience. Came out to celebrate my daughters birthday but was completely regretful. Only one poor girl working take out, bartending, and waitressing. When our table ordered a drink she looked completely confused and had to ask someone from the kitchen to come make it. Took 20 min. just for drinks. The poor girl did her best to run back and forth between taking our order and answering the phone. Most of our order was incorrect and cold. We had to get our own sauce from the take out stand. My local Chinese food place and I order from them a few times a month. They do a good job and one of my favorites is the "Hot Triple Ding". Yeah, it's just fun to say it... Anyway, between that and the shredded beef it's a go to place when I want some quick, close take-out. Be sure to ask for extra rice though. Me and my girls have been eating here since we moved to Pine Bush in 2005. My daughter calls it the "Buddha" because of the statue near the front. She rubs his belly for good luck and has been ever since she was 2. She is now 6 and still does it. It is the little things like that, that make Pine Bush Chinese our go to place for Chinese food. PB Chinese has good tasting food, but they're very overpriced. $9.75 for a basic general tso's chicken combination that comes with a surprisingly light amount of rice, and an undersized, although delicious eggroll. $4.15 for 4 small crab rangoons. Thats over a dollar per rangoon that are filled with mostly air. Don't bother asking for sauce, because you will not get any with your takeout. I still give three stars, because for the most part the food is very tasty, and the dine-in experience is a bit better (i.e you get soup and dessert with the combo when you dine in for the same price). Been going here for over 20 years. It recently changed hands and now has a very large menu. They will also accommodate gluten free orders if you ask. My personal favorite is the General Tso chicken (not gluten free). A previous review mentioned trouble with take out orders being wrong. I agree with that. Take the time before you leave to make sure you have the correct order. The woman at the counter has trouble with English and can become flustered. Twice she has given us the wrong order my mistake. read more

I have been buying Chinese food here since 1988 when I moved to Pine Bush. For years we ordered at least once a week, sometimes more and have always loved the food, rarely getting a bad dish. I understand the restaurant has been recently sold and I have not had time to eat here or get take out for about a year. Unfortunately tonight I had a need to feed some help on my farm and I ordered 6 assorted dishes and some eggrolls. Nothing fancy, just basic dishes to the tune of $82...that was not the problem, as if it had been good, the price was fine...this was horrid! The food was tasteless, bland and run of the mill. I have had better in a mall. I am horridly disappointed and I will miss Larry terribly, but I hope he enjoys his retirement. This mistake is the last I will make buying from Pine Bush Chinese. My helpers agreed, and we tossed the food in the garbage. So very disappointing. read more

I've given this restaurant at least a dozen tries, and I've NEVER had a good experience. Yesterday was typical...went around 1:30 on a weekday - not a single soul in the restaurant (lunch crowd over) so there shouldn't have been any wait. Was seated promptly, and in about 5 minutes or so the waiter comes over. I asked for hot tea - he never asks what my lunch partner wanted to drink. He comes out with hot tea for two. After around 5 minutes I have to go to the owner (who is always there waiting by the front door to seat people) to tell him we're ready to order. This is the breakdown of events: server takes our order, my lunch partner orders water, and I order shrimp toast to be shared between the two of us; he brings out shrimp toast on one plate and sits it in front of my - no second plate, no water; the toast is overcooked and tastes old - I let my partner eat from the plate and I use my napkin - I notice the waiter sees me doing this and doesn't come over; meal is brought out and partner's water finally shows up; I find a hair in my food and, once again, have to hunt down someone to talk to; they ask if they can fix me something else, but this kind of thing grosses me out; partner ordered egg foo yung - it's dripping with oil (literally gathering on the plate) and her rice is hard on top of the order and cold in the middle; I hunt someone down again and ask them to come to the table; they offer to replace the meal, but by then we're totally disgusted (and she was a little grossed out by the hair). They bring us the check that doesn't include my meal (the right choice), but does include her's - I fully expected to pay for the hot tea, soup, and shrimp toast. Did I ask them to comp her's no, but it would have been nice if they had offered - considering they NEVER APOLOGIZED for the hair found in mine. I know this place is well established, and locals love it - I even hesitated leaving this review. But, it's just really, really, really bad! I feel that I've given it enough chances to redeem itself... read more
