It's difficult to find, off E Amity Ave and the railroad tracks. I've been to several dog parks in CA and in comparison, this place is large and well maintained. Went around 8:30am on a Sunday and it was not too crowded. Mostly large dogs running around. . . and I mean running around. I could tell some knew the place pretty well. They were tearing the place up! Watching dogs play with abandon is such a happy sight. The main walking path is dirt and rocks and makes a circle in the park. At the back end is a nice grassy hill with trees. A large pond is in the middle and was closed off, but I'm sure is open during the warmer months. There was a man-made stream in the back area, too. An impressive small dog area is to the right side. Only saw one small dog while I was there and at one point, the owner joined the rest of us in the main area of the park. No other dogs bothered him or showed aggression. When spring comes, the grass and trees will be in their prime and this park will just be beautiful. I included many photos, because words can not do the place justice. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because parts of the park is showing wear and tear.

The dog park is located in the back right corner of the park. There are two sections: one designated for small dogs and one that all dogs can go to. The area is fenced off, which is great because my dogs aren't the best off leash yet (lol). The area is all bark, which can be a little rough on your pups paws if they aren't callused yet. They have a lot of things for the dogs to jump on, over, and through. And of course, a fire hydrant for the dogs to pee on! The only downside is dogs are just like any animal, anything can set them off. We have seen some dogs go after others but it hasn't happened to us. Some dogs are much more aggressive than others. Please make sure your dog is up to date on their vaccines and are friendly! Everyone will have a good time

It's peaceful, usually not crowded, and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood so it feels like a hidden gem. The butterfly theme is really cute ("mariposa" means butterfly in Spanish) and there's a pollinator garden with signs about Monarchs and other pollinators. It's not the shadiest park yet, so on hot days I bring water for both of us. There's no playground here, but if you're looking for one, Winstead Park is just a few minutes away. If you want a calm, dog-friendly spot away from the busier parks, this is a great choice.

Men's restroom arrangement was odd, as there was only one urinal, and it was child size, then two toilets, but one did not have a door. They should have more seating upon entry before entering into the club proper. Unfortunately, there were no dog treats available and the only toys they provide are full size tennis balls. The day we went was not crowded, but the parking lot was, which makes me concerned if I happen to go on a day with many dogs, and owners, then I won't be able to find close parking. My smaller dog was approached by two larger aggressive dogs that did snap at my dog, and the owners took control to correct the situation, but staff did not. . Conclusion- I would return, but honestly it is not a convenient location for us, so I would not make this a regular place to visit.

We were one of the first three original model homes for the Champion Park subdivision and 12 years later, we're still here. The park has really matured from the time it was simply a dirt rectangle. First came the saplings and then the grass. Shortly thereafter, a playground was installed. Later, fencing around the peripheral of the park closed the park to the backyards of the many home owners. The basketball court and picnic shelter came in and lastly the doggie bag holders and multiple trash receptacles completed the parks accessories. I never thought about checking into my park. I naturally assumed someone had a created a Yelp listing for it but that was not the case. So one early morning Saturday, I went to check into my park and it wasn't found on Yelp. I decided take action and give Champion Park it's Champion due. It's a great park that's home to any number of dog walkers and folks who simply want a stroll. The berms and grass is politely manicured and everyone who takes care of the park does so with such care. A couple of reminders. Park is open from dawn to dusk. Once the sun goes down, park is closed No Smoking on the park grounds. I wish this was enforced a little more Dogs have to be on a leash and you have to pick up after your pooch. Again this needs to be enforced more as well Lastly in the NE corner of the park is a irrigation pond, please do not let your kiddos and your dogs go swimming in there. It's really not clean. Oh by the way don't throw rocks into the pond or near the wildlife. Take a championship stroll through Champion Park. You'll feel like you won the Super Bowl.
