The apartments are much bigger here than the other places we visited in the area. Yes, the decor is still stuck in the 80's from when it was built, but who cares. Yes, maybe it needs new carpet in some areas but dad doesn't care. What he cares about is the good food (he'll eat anything so who knows if he's a good judge of fine dining!), the kind and attentive staff and the new friends he's made. A big perk to this place is the indoor pool which residents can use 9-11am with a supervising staff member. We didn't see indoor pools in the more expensive places and it's a real treat for the residents! Dad is a real bore about participating in the activities, but if your elderly loved one would enjoy them, they have plenty! There is no excuse to be lonely or bored at Langdon! If they're not feeling sociable at meal time, they can even have them bring the meal to their suite. We love the flexibility of how little or how much you want to participate on any given day. Take a tour of Langdon Place and see for yourself. It was just the right place for dad, hopefully for yours as well!

The Arbors is owned and operated by Benchmark Corp - their entire focus is on making money NOT quality care. No better at Bedford Falls in fact it was actually worse. Poor care - lost count of how many medication errors they made. Safety - my father was able to get out of his bedroom window at The Arbors without any staff knowing....and it's a secure community! We moved him their from Bedford Falls because they also were not able to keep him engaged and safe! No communication between departments and or shifts about care, issues or updates. Documentation is almost non existent at these places and they like it that way so it's hard to hold them accountable. No proactive communication with family. We made them host care plan meetings to provide updates to us! More than half of my father's belongings were "lost" regardless that everything had to be labeled by us when we moved him in and their response was "oh that happens....". Activities lacked diversity and personalization. Corporate Benchmark has been completely unresponsive to any and all issues we brought to their attention. If it were not for covid we would have moved my Dad after the first few months even with them promising us repeatedly "it will get better, it will get better". Well, it never did get better and then they blamed him as being " a challenge"! And all THAT isn't enough to make you run as fast as you can away from Benchmark, sadly my Dad died of covid in their care over a month ago. I have yet to receive any sort of condolences from them and we still have not received much of his personal belongings back! I'll say it again - My recommendation is keep looking - Benchmark's "benchmark for care and quality is VERY low and your loved one deserves better!

Mom looked at the non-refundable vs. the (higher initial payment) 75% refundable- the 75% refundable looked like a good deal. We all knew (and she signed the contract) that the refund only occurred when a new resident chooses that room. So here we are almost 15 months after she vacated the room, and 11 months after her death. Today, my "man on the inside" reports that her room is now labelled as a "Model." So Silverstone has the money, which is one thing, but worse, in NH, the non-receipt of the refund is holding up closing out her estate. Closure after Mom's passing is out of reach for her grieving children.

She's young but her body is a prison because of multiple sclerosis. Even with 40 hours of at-home nursing care a week, we couldn't do it anymore. She has no strength at all, and we had to do everything for her, everything. It was time. She was distressed, in grief, heartbroken. And it was hard. But the people here made her feel pretty good. She saw that it wasn't a prison. She had the freedom to go where she wanted in her electric wheelchair. She spent her first night in the family room watching her favorite Red Sox on a big screen! Everyone was so nice here. Just stellar. They understood. It will take some time, but I think she'll be happy. This really is a great place. It's clean and large and there is so much to do! It's like a mini resort. Thanks, Rockingham, for making Ma feel welcomed. It meant a lot to us.

my name is Darlene and I am a volunteer at Carlyle Place in Bedford NH. all the staff are happy and…read morefriendly. it makes me excited when I volunteer to be with such attentive staff. i enjoy socializing with the residents and walking with them in the corridors. I have not met any resident that is not happy living there. Residents are served excellent food choices with BBQs periodically in the summer. Chair exercises are offered everyday as well as mind games, etc. I have fun volunteering there and I enjoy watching the residents enjoy the various activities as well. I especially enjoy being a chaperone to various day trips. I plan on volunteering for a very long time.
