My daughter finally agreed to get help and she checked into granite house. she was addicted to meth and was experiencing hallucinations. I got a call from the granite house a few hours after admission they said she was fine. One o clock in the morning we received a call that my daughter was no longer welcome at the granite house. They put her on the street and locked her out. We live two hours away but they didn't care. My husband drove to get her while I called the police, hospital, United way, anyone to get help. The granite house did not answer the phone. My daughter stood outside crying in for two hours until we could get there. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this facility read more

The granite house saved my life!! After bouncing in and out of treatment for the better part of a decade I made the move from south Florida to Derry NH in February of 2013. I was a scared little boy when I arrived and upon graduation I left as a confident man in recovery. Eric and the rest of the staff at TGH are some of the best around. Please becareful! this place is a scam. They suck you in because you want help for your loved ones then try to get more money from you. You can not get a straight answer when it comes to fees. Say money the first month of 2800.00 is for admin costs then turn around and bill your insurance company which they say in the beginning they wont do. When you ask for copies of receipts or paper work they say "cant find it" Such a shame! Oh yea and the 2800.00 does nor even included food. read more

Granite House is an extended living treatment facility to assist substance abusers learn the habits that will keep them sober for the rest of their lives. It is not a quick fix, but a supplement to 28 day inpatient programs. 28 day programs get the ball started, but because there is usually nothing after that, the average success rate is something below 20%. My son started in the Granite House program in early November 2011. For the first several months, he didn't seem happy and kept telling me that he could do what he was doing there for a lot less money going to some other sober house or coming home. Then the light bulb went off, he finally became engaged in the process and started to excel. As he moved further from his addictions, his mind became clearer. He has been sober since October 2011 and I can proudly look at his achievements. In August of 2012, he left Granite House and chose to stay in Derry, New Hampshire to remain close to Granite House for the time being. These may not sound like big steps, but for a kid who just left the program what he did was tremendous. He found an apartment and worked out how to finance the rental. He got a job, and they have given him a raise and a promotion during his first 6 months working. For a kid who was an opiate addict, this is an amazing turnaround. Taking money and only interested in adding additional rooms for additional revenue while place was in horrible condition. Kitchen an absolute mess. Lack of cookware, dishes etc....basic needs. A working stove would be helpful....Also a working dryer for your clothes would be great. Not to mention calling a plumber so bathrooms would at least work..... However plenty of fly's from completely full dumpsters and trash cans in need of being emptied. NO AC....Never said they had it but never said they didn't....Bring a Fan Upstairs carpet in major need of replacing. Group trips they advertise never happen Staff would be given much better rating than the living conditions except fo the obvious. KEEP LOOKING.....Better options out there for your sobriety. read more

Granite House is not just a sober house, it is a well run program where everyone is held accountable. Eric was responsive to us as parents, and paid attention to the details. Granite House seemed so promising; when In first spoke to the owner and admissions person; they were kind, responsive and encouraging. Once there, and my money as well, they became different folks. Didn't return calls or emails, were rarely available, generally out on the road marketing. The place looks like it should be condemned, and due to successful marketing is incredibly overcrowded. It is truly sad that folks who supposedly went through their own 12 Step Recovery don't walk the talk they claim to teach, rather use program language as an excuse for poor management, bad conditions and lack of follow through on all those cool things they advertise on their website. The lack of information on program policy, and professionalism is appalling. I am not vindictive, and feel gratitude for the presence of the 12 Step program and a sponsor, who though has too many folks, seems pretty great. In all sincerity: Granite House should slow down their operation, take a moral inventory and think about those folks who entrust their loved ones to the care and integrity of a place that could be so much more ... read more

My sobriety date is December 7th, 2011. On December 28th, 2011 I made my transition from my primary treatment center to the Granite House extended care program in Derry, NH. I was nervous, excited, fearful, tearful and hopeful to take the leap into the unknown. I had been beaten down emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually by drugs and alcohol. From the moment I got to the Granite House, I knew this was the place for me and my own personal recovery. I was introduced to a way of life that I thought did not exist, and an internal spark turned into a flame due to the love, patience and understanding of the staff and my peers. The staff showed me how to recover. They introduced me to the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and the twelve steps. They showed me personal accountability, self-worth and self-efficacy. They did so in a manner of which where they loved me enough to tell me the truth. Not only did I feel like the young man I was raised to be, I got my family back. The Granite House showed me how to be present for the people in my life, and I have a relationship with my mom and dad again. Through the second and third phase I started to get back into the workforce, while having the safety and security of the Granite House, a place which I called home. I was able to start to launch my career, and I even returned to school after graduating. I will be three years sober on December 7th, 2014. The Granite House holds a special place in my heart, and I will be forever grateful. read more

My son loved mountainside and he went to granite house. He stayed three days and took a bus home. The room was like a closet and it was on the third floor and 100 degrees. I saw it. The house was crowded and they would not refund any of the three thousand they took. I am sure they had someone else in his little closet room in a couple of days. It is stealing when they keep that kind of money in my opinion.. read more

This place changed my life! My family and I had reservations before I went but, there were no alternatives. Yeah I could have found things to complain about but the truth is, it was better than being dead! It was the ritz compared to what I deserved. They hire people with absolutely no expertise in addiction and often no knowledge about sobriety than their own. It's insane that people pay 5000 dollars a month to get the help of people with no expertise in this feild. I came to meet many people I liked while I was there but regardless this place is a rip off. I have friends who have made it through the house successfully but I also know they were desperate enough and needed brain washing so in conclusion if you are so addicted to drugs to substances that you think Alcoholics Anonoymous will help you than go for it but id pay this kind of money at a place that actually hires qualified managers. Going or sending a loved one here is like rolling a dice trust me you can do better. What I will say is this place will give people deals but that's about the best thing about it.
