We stayed in Cabin #12 and it was very nice. It was clean and neat. It came equipped with a full kitchen. We used the refrigerator but did not cook. There was a stack of napkins on the nook table but no paper towels available. Next time I'll remember a roll. The deck was right above the river and was very scenic. The hot tub was very useful to us and we sat in it stargazing for hours. The setting is private with privacy screens on both sides. We had neighbors on both sides of us who were also outside but all was peaceful. Good nature sounds out there. The check in procedure was flawless. It was all faceless and we never entered the office or saw any staff at all. They had our credit card number and sent us an email the day we arrived with the key box code. I'm assuming Covid prompted that procedure but it was smooth. There were a couple rocking chairs and a couch in the tv area. Under the tv was a DVD player and we watched some old Bogart/Bacall movies. Very cool. We already booked another trip next time Washington Pass is clear.

Wanting to change it up a bit this year, the family decided to rent a cabin in Winthrop. We had no…read moreidea how many people spend thanksgiving weekend in Winthrop. Everything was booked. Finally as a last resort we were able (lucky) to book "Artic Dream." I booked it online and in seconds I received a confirmation. "Enjoy all the comforts of home, convenience of being near town, and the country feel of the Methow Valley. Mule deer greet you in the early morning hours, birds serenade you each day, and the sun always seems to be shining when you're here." No sunshine, because it was snowing, but you can't complain about that. I got up in the morning, looked out the sliding door and what do you know? DEER!! I saw 6 does and a buck! It was true! The cabin is located two miles south of Winthrop and snuggled in the Okanogan National Forest. It was truly a beautiful picturesque setting. The cabin had three bedrooms, a good size kitchen, and a cozy living room. There's also a nice gas fireplace and a small deck in the back. The only thing missing would have to be a hot tub to loosen up those knots after our hikes. The kitchen is not huge, but a good size to take on the duties of roasting the gobble gobble and making my homemade stuffing. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the right cookware to undergo the 4-hour task. If you forgot to bring something there's a Red Apple Grocery Store down the hill and across the highway. The historic downtown is only a few miles away. There's also snowboarding, skiing, hiking and X-Country trails within a minute car ride. This was baby Ali's first family trip. I'm sure this place will add more memorable memories to the family. If you're craving a mountain setting with the convenience of a short drive to the store and downtown, this is the cabin for you.

The rooms are nice and quiet and the view of the river melts the stress away. Less than 5 minute walk to the town center and Winthrop has so much to offer. Rooms were clean and spacious enough. There is a coffee pot with coffee, tea, and additives. They supply hair products soap and hand lotions. The slides opens to a small private deck overlooking the river. I almost didn't write this review because I know more folks will book this place and cut me out but

If you're looking for a place that perfectly captures the spirit of the Old West after the gold…read morerush failed and everyone left town, this is it. The parking lot is a rodeo for compact cars only -- if you drive anything bigger than a Mini Cooper, good luck partner. The riverside 'sitting area' is less 'tranquil escape' and more 'Botanical Exhibit: Weeds of the Northwest.' A $20 Home Depot run could have fixed it, but apparently tumbleweed chic was the design choice. The scenic walkway is cleverly positioned right in front of your windows, so the choice is either: (a) enjoy your 'river view' or (b) star in a reality show called People Watching Me in My Pajamas. The walls are so thin you'll know exactly when your neighbor sneezes, flushes, or thinks deep thoughts about life. The western theme? Let's just say it's like someone googled "cowboy wood" and gave up halfway. The mix of cedar, pine, and random lumber scraps feels less John Wayne and more Home Depot clearance bin. And the bathroom? Oh, half of it is in the bedroom. Because nothing says romance like brushing your teeth while your partner is still in bed watching you. Five stars for location. Zero stars for everything else. Would only recommend if your idea of a Wild West vacation includes thin walls, awkward parking, and bathrooms that refuse to commit to a single room.
