You've never been to Seaside Heights if you've never been to Steak Unlimited. What an iconic place. My husband and I come here every year on our Jersey Shore trip. He's in the military and walks around with a camo ID badge wrapped around his arm. Each year, the kind lady at the register always notices it and gives him a military discount which is extremely generous. I love their chicken fingers and fries. It's always cooked fresh. I enjoy trying out all different cheesesteak spots, wherever I am visiting. I recently was in Seaside walking the boardwalk and stopped at this place. It's a block away from the boardwalk, fyi. They use a unique roll for their sandwiches. It's like the meat, cheese, peppers, and onions are all stuffed into a pita like bread. Very interesting. The Seaside Tony version of the steak sandwich came with cheese balls stuffed inside as well, so I had to go with that one. Overall, the sandwich was good. The meat tasted great, and the additional toppings were a nice mix into the sandwich. I enjoyed the cheese balls too. They offered seating both indoors and outdoors. I had no issue with the staff, everyone was very friendly. I came in May 2023, and my sandwich was $11.00. Pretty good for today's rates, as it's a fair size. I have come here for years both in season and off season. I went there at the beginning of August and got a cheesesteak that had about half the meat it normally does. I figures ok, maybe just an off day. I returned a week later and again got another "skimpy" sandwich. I've known many people who live nearby right on the mainland and will drive to Seaside Heights just to get a cheesesteak there. However, the last time we visited the other day, I have to say that we were disappointed how the place has gone downhill. It has gotten very dirty. The floor and drop ceiling and were just not clean. The whole place needs to be gutted out and redone. The cheesesteaks themselves were still pretty good, so that's what it gives it more than one star. But I just can't recommend to eat there anymore because it wasn't a pleasant experience. To be clear-I often prefer places that are a little bit more quaint and down-home. The best steaks you'll ever have. They can easily compete with philly cheesesteaks. This place is basically open 24/7. I've come here during the day on a beach day, and also at 3am after going out to the bar on the boardwalk. It hits home every time haha. So my favorite Cheesesteak is the seaside tony because they put the cheese balls into the cheesesteak. Which both things are the staple of seaside so it's a no brainer to go with both! Otherwise just get the cheese balls on the side if you don't want it in your cheesesteak! Now this place gets super crowded and you could be waiting over 20-40 min for your cheesesteak because that's how crowded this place can get. The busiest times are during the summer season from thurs-sun, around late lunch time and after 12am...basically all day. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE PLACE!!!! The woman at the register is a total nightmare and should be fired immediately. As locals who come here on a weekly basis, you would expect to be treated with a little bit of respect. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen here. I went with a group on June 30th around 6pm and ordered 4 cheesesteaks and a drink. We waited about 10 minutes and noticed the cook wasn't dropping any orders on the grill. We asked the woman at the register what was going on to which she aggressively asked us if we could see the 8 open tickets? We responded letting her know her rude behavior was totally uncalled for. She began to get even more disgruntled and asked if we just wanted our money back. We responded yes, that we would just go next door where we aren't treated like crap. This apparently set her off because she proceeded to curse at us, throw my credit card at me, and smack my cell phone out of my hand. She couldn't figure out how to process the refund, got more frustrated, and totally berated us. While we waited for her to figure things out, some small ~16 year old boy working there came over and started screaming for us to leave and go next door. We repeatedly told him we intended to leave once our refund was processed. Instead of opening his ears and listening to the words coming out of our mouth, he just continued to scream to the point he looked like he was going to cry. I checked my bank statement and, unsurprisingly, the woman never figured out how to process the refund. Fortunately, we were able to go next door to The Original Steaks where we were warmly greeted and received our food within 5 minutes. And I must say, the cheesesteak was SIGNIFICANTLY better!! Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. We have been hearing stories for about a month now from friends about this register woman at Steaks Unlimited treating people like crap. I honestly didn't think any establishment would treat regulars this way but I can say that I've now seen it with my own eyes and have a video to prove it. Don't waste your time or money on this awful place. Go next door and wait a fraction of the time for a much better product. read more

I had been eating these cheesesteaks for years and they are definitely at the top of the list. I moved away and haven't had a decent steak sandwich in a long time. My daughter was traveling through southern NJ and stopped in Seaside. I asked her to get me my favorite cheesesteak from Steaks Unlimited, off the Boardwalk on DuPont Ave. Let me tell you how great they are. They packaged my sandwich in separate containers, bread in one and the steak, cheese and peppers and onions in the other.
