I remember stopping for Dewey's dogs as a little girl and got to experience the store front today. Got the jalapeño cheddar dog and holy cow I am blown away! Has a really great kick of spice that will have me going back for more! Service was quick and great! The place itself is nice and is great for stopping in for a quick bite to eat that doesn't absolutely kill your pockets. Hot dogs are a serious business in New Jersey and this stop in Forked River proudly announces that they sell Sabrett's, an iconic brand of hot dog. They also are proud of their pushcart style hot dogs. They also offer cheesesteaks, Italian hot dogs, fries, etc. I was warned by a few people that they were kind of rude, but I did not notice, maybe I am just acclimated to the Jersey attitude. As for the location, it is a bit tucked away in a smaller strip mall, but it should be said that good things come in small packages. We have been wanting to try Dewey's Dogs since moving into the area. We finally got there and we were not disappointed. The Double Italian had ample potatoes, onions and peppers with the right amount of ketchup and mustard. The roll was soft and perfect size. The chili dog with fresh onions and mustard was meaty, not spicy and had big chunks of onions. Yummy! We will definitely be going back to try some of their offerings.
