This dish is such an exciting tropical dish! How fun when the dish itself is a whole pineapple! How down to earth is that?! I'm not usually a seafood person, but I tried the chicken and lobster, and it was absolutely amazing, so, so, so good. I also love how the pineapple pairs perfectly with the chicken. I highly recommend Pineapple Ninjaz to everyone!l this place is a must try when you're in SPI.

    Ninja smash burger $11

The price of the food is ridiculous, $12 for a plain ass burger with no seasoning comes with no fries and said it was an extra charge for a side of fries. We spent $80 for four items, the lady who made our drinks didn't even use gloves, they are hectic and all over the place and adding extra items I didn't order to the bill. The drinks were tasty I'll give them that but other than not using gloves is crazy. They are super slow we stood there for over 30 mins just trying to order with only two people in front of us. The pineapple shrimp bowl is pretty good and good price but for what we got we definitely could've gotten more food and drinks at a different than pineapple ninjaz. We only went because I wanted to go to the previous place that was there but wasn't aware they got bought out . Over all 0/10 for experience and service -1/10 for the ridiculously small burger with nothing even though they advertised it with lettuce and other toppings I wouldn't recommend not even to a person I dislike . If I could I'd rate it a 0.

Great island food!! I got the tail bowl and it was delicious! Refreshing but also savory, it certainly hit the spot! They also serve flavored/spiced tomato juice for you to mix with your BYOB! Prices are bit high but overall I think our selection was worth the price.

The graphic design was less than impressive though

Excellent ceviche. This food truck's whole gimmick revolves around pineapples, so if you're allergic to this prickly fruit, you may want to steer clear. Pineapples help people get into that island mentality, and we saw a couple of these trucks peppered around. The one we went to was parked behind our hotel, and after having a couple of beers we stopped by here for some pre-concert grub. They don't have any to-go containers, hence me docking off a point. Your bowl is a carved out pineapple half, good luck with that. If you want your dish to go, they just wrap that sucker in foil. My cousin liked her chicken dish, and I don't remember what my sister and brother in law shared, but that was some really great ceviche, with a generous amount for $12, too. I've seen restaurants give half that amount for the same price, so I think we got a pretty good deal. The ceviche was tasty but I had to use all the lime I was given in order to get a nice tang going. Overall, though, I'd order that again. Everything tasted fresh and was made to order.

This place was pretty good. Only reason I give 3 stars is because the rice was super super undercooked to the point I couldn't even eat it. We got the shrimp and chicken bowls. They were both great! And I loved the zucchini fries so good! Glad we decided to stop by and try this while we visited the island!

Two stars because it was pretty. Mostly. We ordered 3 pineapple and coconut smoothies. Thinking that a food truck with pineapple in the name would actually serve a drink that tastes like pineapple was the hope. Well, definitely put your $10 smoothie hopes into another food truck because this didn't taste like pineapple or coconut. It tasted like a barren snowcone. The only indication I got what I ordered was the pile of fruit on top of the cup (not in it) and the stringy something stuck between my teeth after I drank it (could be pineapple. Could be coconut). And it was a little yellow on bottom. A little white on top. Otherwise. I drank snowy ice. We sipped. We hoped that it just needed a stir. Nope. Disappointed.

For a food truck, this was very good. My husband and I stopped initially to get something cold to drink. However, the pictures on the truck enticed me to try the chicken. It was very good. I also got the pineapple limeade, which was refreshing. My husband got the kickback colada and it was delicious. What could've given this a five star rating? There were no trash cans, no seating (though neighboring food trucks had their own seating). We were not in a situation to take this to go so I had to eat standing up at one of the wooden pillars they have situated there. My understanding is that this is a somewhat stationary food truck. Adding just a little bit of seating could certainly make for a better experience. It wouldn't need to be anything elaborate. I would also recommend a nearby trashcan.

This is definitely a spot I had been wanting to check out as I was drawn to the idea of my food being served inside a hollowed out pineapple. Unfortunately, the spectacle of the food being in the pineapple is as good as it gets here. I got the chicken dish, which was $10. The spring was $15 and the lobster was $30. Boy am I glad I didn't spend more than $10 for this. The chicken was actually quite good with the orange sauce, but the jasmine rice was bland. They add some decorative items on top of the dish, but that's about it. I wound up eating as much of the pineapple as I could but without a knife you'll have to do this with your hands. Overall, for the money I would recommend going elsewhere, as the amount of food isn't very much and you're really just paying to have your food presented in the hollowed out half of a pineapple.

    Big balla
    Iris A.

The food is okay. I got the big baller (comes with shrimp, chicken, & lobster) which costs $40 & in my opinion it was a solid 3/10 & not at all worth $40. The amount of food is not enough for what is advertised (they say the big baller is for two people but was not) & the food itself was not tasty ; no flavor. All in all just save your money please

Server tipped himself 15% without letting us know. Thieves. Food is mediocre. Seems dirty but dipping themselves was the worst.

We did have to wait a few minutes to be seated, and weren't sure why we weren't given menus. But we saw signs indicating to order at the back counter. We went to the counter, took a menu and came back to our party to decide what we would order. You place your order, give your table number and they bring your food. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out, but it was warm and delicious. My husband got the blacked mahi sandwich, I got the Iron Skillet Shrimp (pictured) and a Turbo Pelican Colada. Everything was delicious! The iron skillet came with 8 huge shrimp and I opted for garlic butter, which gave a dipping sauce. The fries were HUGE! Our kids loved the fries, burger and hot dogs that they ordered. The drink I ordered was strong and tasty, the toasted coconut was the icing on the cake. The drink came with a beautiful drink decoration, which my kids found cool to play with. We would visit again and plan on it.

It has become one of our favorite places to eat on South Padre Island. One of my favorite things is how genuinely pet-friendly they are. They even have a dog menu, so our dachshund, PeeWee, gets to enjoy lunch with us too. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that truly welcomes the whole family, including four-legged family members. After watching the KRGV Take 5 segment, I loved learning that the new owners were the cooks before taking over the restaurant. You can absolutely tell they know what they're doing. The quality of the food, the consistency, and the atmosphere have all been elevated under the new ownership while still keeping the laid-back island vibe. If you're looking for great food, excellent service, reasonable prices, and a place where everyone--including your dog--is welcome, Mahi Nic is the place to go. We'll definitely be back again and again with PeeWee and the rest of our family and friends. Highly recommend!
