I ordered the potato scallops at the recommendation of our server. My husband had the red snapper filet. Both of our dishes were very good. Our server Uzi also did an amazing job checking on us and making sure we had what we needed. We will always return when we come to SPI. My only recommendation to the restaurant is that is probably due for an face lift. It still has dark walls, table, chairs, and floors. Compared to the newer restaurants in SPI that compare with the same type of food is that this one is dated. The newer ones are more modern and brighter. I know it doesn't make a difference with the food but I do think the ambiance would be better.

I totally understand that food runners help out, but we had more interactions with the runner than with our server. We were never asked how everything was, if we needed anything, or if we wanted refills. We're not the type to complain and we're very low-maintenance when we go out to eat. We had a long day and just wanted a light dinner, so it was a little surprising. This was actually the best food we've had at any restaurant we've visited this week, which made it even more disappointing that the service didn't match the quality of the meal.

As you walk in, the front is sort of a grocery store -- coolers and frozen food, shelves with salsas and sauces, drink coolers you can grab from, and a fresh fish cooler. So if you want to come in and buy fresh fish, or pick shrimp or fish out of the cooler to have them cook for you, that's the kind of thing they're doing. The seating area is large with big tables, so there was plenty of room even though it was pretty full at lunch. We came in with a family of six and were seated right away. It did start getting busy as we were leaving, with some people waiting for a table, so you probably want to come early. Grilled fish, shrimp & oyster platter, $15.50 -- everything on the plate was good. And I want to highlight the coleslaw -- super good, some of the better coleslaw you're going to have. Crab fingers (pound order), ~$31 -- very good, and probably one of the better ways to eat crab since they're already shelled for you. You're just picking and eating. One note: this is a no-frills place. You're not getting fancy silverware or fine dining -- everything's served on paper plates with plastic utensils and paper napkins. It's just a place you go to eat fresh food and not worry about the rest. In general, nothing our party had was bad. Everything was pretty solid and very affordable. The options that they did have weren't good at all. They do have crab legs but somehow they figured out how to make fresh crab legs taste like imitation crab. My daughter ordered the make your own pasta and it took about an hour for it to come out. When it did the shrimp taste burnt and the pasta was overcooked. Our service was mid at best but to be honest they had like 3 people serving the entire restaurant. On top of that the food is extremely overpriced. If I had to do it all over again I would save my money and get some roller glizzy's and a 40oz drink from the gas station and call it a night.
