Nice big restaurant, friendly staff. The food was good, but didn't wow us. The pineapple pulled pork nachos were unique and flavorful.

I am generously giving Pineapple Willy's 2 stars because their frozen daiquiris were delicious but that's where the luster ends. This place is so busy; however, the food is mediocre, I don't understand the hype except it is on the beach. They are supposedly known for their ribs but they are far from award winning, and not even close to the best I've ever had. They didn't have a lot of meat on them either. My son was pleased with the wings as an appetizer but didn't care for the pulled pork sandwich. My mahi mahi sandwich tasted fishy, and the batter on the fried oysters was gummy on the inside because they weren't fried long enough. I was also disappointed that the ranch, blue cheese and tarter sauce came prepackaged. They do get you in and out but I'd rather wait for a delicious food with a local flare. read more

This location was packed constantly, but the staff consistently did a great job handling it for the entire week that we stayed at PCB. The food was very good and a very reasonable price, and the drinks were great as well (definitely get the large insulator cup if you will be visiting for multiple days). I highly recommend getting lunch to go and bringing it down to your beach chair and eating on the beach! I did this with the fried clam strip basket and it was very easily transportable and easy to eat on the beach, but to mention delicious! read more

The setting was great because you are overlooking the ocean. Even though they were busy, we got in quickly and the service was great. They also built a fun brand around their name. That being said, the food was really subpar. I even ordered their "famous ribs" and they lacked flavor and were dry. Not worth the roughly $26 they cost. Arrived around 4:00ish and was seated within 15mins. There were 6 of us. We sat outside and enjoyed the beach/ocean view. We started off with gator bites and nachos as appetizers. Both were delicious and good amount. For dinner we had seafood platter, ribs, shrimp dinner grilled and several shrimp dinners fried. The shrimp were plump and juicy-very good!! The ribs were fatty and very commercial type ribs-not real bbq style ribs. Seafood platter was decent amount (mahi mahi is fish bites and not fillets). The mashed potatoes are very yummy!! Our server, Phillip, was amazing and on top of everything! Overall, it's definitely a "touristy" place. The prices are a little high in my opinion as the food is good, but nothing to rush out for or a "must have". The view is the best thing, and that's basically what you are paying for. I would eat here again and would recommend it as a tourist place to try at least once. read more

The mask mandate was just lifted in Florida. There were 0 precautions being take at this restaurant. The waiting area was packed with people without masks and not social distancing. With that being said, we waited about 20 minutes for a table of 6 at prime dinner time- right before sunset. The food was pretty typical for fried, chain restaurant food. Of course, the drinks are what bring people in- and they didn't disappoint. I wouldn't seek this place out for a meal, but would walk-up on the beach for a drink. read more

The manager/owner/respondent Jared is entirely full of BS, and here's why: 1) Your level of occupancy was entirely disregarded the evening I was there. I witnessed crowds of people without masks waiting for a table. Your team that blocked me from parking in your lot encouraged me to go park elsewhere, walk to your restaurant, and wait in the parking lot with no recommendations or restrictions. Along with the HUNDRED (no exaggeration) other people waiting for a table. Your best recommendation would have been to mandate me to wait in my vehicle 2) You had a PCB police officer at the front who did NOTHING to mandate the mask requirement or advise people to disperse. The 6ft social distancing was never enforced at the time I was there. A PCB officer WITH A BADGE could care less about anything. I could've walked past that officer without a mask and he wouldn't have said a word. I witnessed others doing the same thing. And the officer wasn't even wearing a mask himself!! 3) So you're going to stop me from parking, but not stop me from coming in. And what does that accomplish, especially with the above facts? Yeah, might as well just stop while you're behind. Stop lying and remove your head from your rear end. That evening had nothing to do with COVID. You still earned the revenue you wanted, yet you pissed a LOT of people off. Against my best recommendation, my party of 9 opted to still dine with you. I am frustrated that you had the audacity to respond to me with nothing but lies. I really wish I had taken pictures of the crowds of people on the other end of my camera to prove my point. The staff was very friendly but the food was terrible and very over priced! I got the fried seafood platter 30.00 it had shrimp, scallops, Mahi Mahi and "clam strips" the shrimp were decent the scallops over cooked and had very thick breading. The Mahi Mahi was cut into tiny strips before it was coated in the thick breading and fried it and the clam strips where small chopped pieces and honestly I couldn't find any actual clam inside the tiny pieces of breading. read more

It's been about 20 years since we last visited PCB, but I vividly remember the atmosphere, drinks, and the ribs at Pineapple Willy's. So when we returned last week to PCB, naturally we wanted to see if this trendy little establishment had changed. It did...but in a great way. When we arrived on Sunday afternoon around 6pm , we called to see what the wait time was and it was 2 hours! So we asked when their least busy time was and was told to get there a little early around 4 pm-ish. So on Friday that week...we arrived to a very busy hostess station at 3:30 pm. To say that the place had changed in size is an understatement. I remember sitting on the wharf, but they had since then extended the indoor seating and added a new bar (they also now have several overflow parking lots) We opted for first available and was told our wait would be about 10 minutes and we were seated 5 minutes later. We had 3 active and attentive servers who were beyond helpful. We ordered drinks and appetizers which came out right away (btw...the Pineapple Willy was delicious). Most of us ordered the ribs. Now, I've read reviews on these that reviewers did not find the ribs good so I'm going to say this: if you are a Texas bbq or Kentucky dry rub fan, then these ribs are probably not what you're used to. These remind me of a Kansas City style super saucy, tangy bbq....and they were tender and delicious. Of course we all have our own opinions here, but we loved them. They were tender with just enough sauce. Everything we had was delicious. We were in and out of there in an hour and fifteen minutes. The last thing that I will add to this review is the price. It is a little pricey (1 lb rib basket was $26), but it was absolutely worth it. Never mind that it's tourist prices...we had a short wait, with fast, friendly service, and delicious food. We will definitely come back and hopefully it's not 20 years from now. read more

Visited during Covid. The staff and management seem to be doing everything they can to comply with the regulations and offer a safe experience for their guests. However, not all guests wanted to comply. The food is ok but you are really going because everybody else is going anyway. The menu was abbreviated from their regular menu due to Covid. It was very crowded outside while waiting for a table. Once seated we saw one guy (a grown man) come in the restaurant and sit down without any shoes on. Kinda gross but I guess the host staff was so concentrating on masks they missed it. read more

Didn't try the food here. Frozen daiquiri drinks were so-so (think Wet Willy's or Fat Tuesdays). Prices were typical tourist area high pricing. Parking in this area is also very hard to come by. Pineapple Willy's is one of our families favorite places to eat when vacationing in PCB. We are a picky crew, but always enjoy our meals at this restaurant. Maybe it's the great atmosphere, or the fantastic outdoor seating overlooking the beach and ocean, or the fun staff, or the Frozen drinks you chug down @ Fat Tuesday's before being seated, or the cool beach bar decor... or maybe it's because the food is simple and good. Whatever the reason, we just enjoy coming here. Our love affair with Pineapple Willy's started last year while on vacation. We tricked our kids (6 & 9) into eating the alligator nuggets. Well... trick might not be the correct word, we simply didn't tell them it was alligator because we knew they would think it was chicken. After asking them what they thought, they said "those were the best chicken nuggets ever!!!" I gotta figure out a way to attach a photo to this review, because their faces after we told them it was alligator were priceless. We usually stay at a resort within walking distance to Pineapple Willy's, so taking the bucket they provide and walking along the beach after dinner to collect sea shells or crabs is all part of the fondness we have to this restaurant. So my advice is to ignore negative reviews about this place. The food is DEFINITELY good if not excellent (fried shrimp & alligator nuggets for example), but the whole experience here is wonderful. I will say that if you LOVE ribs, the ones here are just average. Try going during the weekday around sunset... the skyline will be just another thing that makes you fall in love with eating here. read more

These folks know how to deliver 1,000 to maybe 1,500 meals at a sitting. very friendly staff, very efficient , food hot and quick you won't be disappointed. 80 percent of the menu is fried food. very few non fried choices. Food was rated at 4 stars and what I'm finding is that ratings are relative to the other restaurants in the area . Food is better than the other large water front dinner places at panama city beach but really nothing special. World famous ribs were cooked to perfection with little or no flavor. Sauce was boring, fries soggy. Key lime and silk pie had good flavor but were maybe 2" round discs mostly crust. I'd pass on these. prices were good for what you were getting but again really nothing special except the view and the service. read more

Wings were the best we've had in a long time. Fried platter was also good. However it was heart breaking to find out the drink policy. My hubby & I both ordered the $9.00/24 oz virgin frozen drinks. Mine was extremely too sweet for my taste. I asked the waitress if I could exchange it (I had only a few sips). She said "sure I can make you a different one but you'll be charged for both"! I had never heard of such, especially since my cup was still full!! Customer satisfaction should always be priority and this policy does not reflect that at all! Hi Jared and thanks for responding. However ANY item a custom returns would be thrown away I hope. As you further confirmed my issue by saying "with as many drinks as we sell", meaning you guys aren't losing much by ensuring the satisfaction of your customers. As I stated my drink was a VIRGIN, so essentially flavoring & ice would've been lost cost. Much cheaper than if I returned my meal, which should be trashed & something newly prepared. My husband wanted to take me to Pineapple Willys because as many times as I've been to PCB I've never been there. (I've been to PCB like 50 times, my Dad used to live here). Anyway, I could have gone my whole life without going. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. The food was mediocre and overpriced but the service was excellent. We had a nice view of the ocean from inside the restaurant. (we chose first available and ended up inside, of course). We shared a Pineapple Willy - their speciality drink. We each had a few sips before realizing we had a dead fly floating in our drink. They promptly exchanged it for another and brought us the fruit on the side and the waitress who helped us with this said they thought the fly might have come from the fruit. Yuck again. The sweet tea tasted old. I don't know how it could have been old because the place was pretty busy and it wasn't even 6pm yet. Anyway, we sent that back and got diet cokes instead. I had the Club. I've never had a club that didn't have bacon, but Willy's doesn't. IT doesn't come with mayo either. You have to add it yourself from these little packets. Yummy. NOT. My husband had the Grouper PoBoy. It was just mediocre. The sauce that came with it (described to us by our waiter as like what Outback uses with their Bloomin Onion) was just ok. The fries were at least hot and the food came out VERY quickly. Overall it was a good one time experience, I suppose. Would have been better if we would have been able to sit on the deck. Very little love in this cue just hurry up and sell me. The sauce is disgustingly sweet and for sale at the register. Prices are high as one might expect in a hot tourist location. It's fair to middling bbq that probably won't kill you but these us much better out there if you've just got to have pork at the beach. I never will understand that. read more

We tried Pineapple Willy's on the recommendation from staff at the Holiday Inn. The food was just average, and we felt it was really overpriced. I guess when you're a tourist trap you can charge more. Our favorite thing was the onion rings, which were extra crispy and seasoned well, but the $8 order included just 8 rings. You do the math. The upside was the friendly and accommodating staff as well as the view. If you're looking for a casual waterfront place with good service and average food, and don't mind paying more for it, this is your place. If you want truly good food, go across the street to Dee's Hangout. My daughter says for a family of four Dee's is, "Ten dollars less and a million times better." read more
