    Grouper Special (2/5)

Grouper Special (2/5): This tasted like bad banquet food. The gravy was overwhelming and not good. The fried grouper was fine but fairly tasteless. I did like the fried grits cake though. I would get just that again. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Steamboat Grill hit the spot for a casual shrimp po' boy. The bread was nicely toasted, the shrimp were hot, crispy, and well-seasoned, and the sauce tied everything together without overpowering the seafood. Service was friendly and quick even with a busy dining room. I'd definitely order the shrimp po' boy again.

We vacation in this area every year but this was our first time at Steamboat Grill. Something for everyone on the extensive menu and loved everything we ordered! Great service from Michelle. She was patient answering all our questions about GF options and gave many helpful suggestions. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their dinner. We'll be back!

Popcorn shrimp, hush puppies, fries, coleslaw.

Family felt like seafood for dinner so we picked Steamboat. Restaurant has a casual sports bar type atmosphere. Was seated immediately, and greeted by the friendly waitress. The staff in general was super friendly. Food was piping hot and delicious. The appetizer here are so good, Thai wings were tasty and perfectly cooked, crab balls were equivalent to crab cakes, Rockefeller oysters were a big hit too. Entrees were piping hot and fresh, and the portions were more than adequate. My son, who is a voracious eater, barely could finish his popcorn shrimp. We found our new go to restaurant for seafood.

Overall food was great. The crab balls were good, and the 2 for 1 Grouper dinner special was hard to beat. Our server was great, and the restaurant itself has a great vibe inside.

We loved this place! Highly recommend! Food was great fresh seafood. Great service! Descent size place you need to be there early.

Our first go to dinner place when we're in the area! Some of the best peel and eat shrimp and grouper you'll find.

Do they take reservations ? We have maybe 8 people.

No it's first come first serve.

    Do they have outdoor seating?

    Yes, they do.

Does SteamBoat Grill 30A serve fried oysters? I don't see that as an entree or on any of the seafood platters.

No...they don't have fried oysters. But their other fried food is really good.

The atmosphere is elegant and refined, offering a true fine dining experience, but it's still comfortable and welcoming. Many guests were dressed in nice shorts and resort attire, so there's no need to feel overly formal. The food was outstanding from start to finish. We highly recommend the crab soup and the crab cake--both were absolutely exceptional. For our entrees, the seared tuna and the seared scallops were perfectly prepared and among the best we've had. While the dessert menu is somewhat limited, both desserts we ordered were delicious and a wonderful way to end the meal. The real standout, though, was our server, Nancy. She struck the perfect balance between attentive service and giving us space to enjoy our evening. Her warm personality and genuine hospitality made the experience even more memorable while allowing our family to relax and enjoy a wonderful dinner together with our two teenage daughters. Cafe 30A is the kind of restaurant that turns a great meal into a memorable evening. We would absolutely return the next time we're in the Seagrove Beach area.

Being a bit tired of seafood after a long trip, I opted for the pork chop. It was seared well, good flavor, good cut. No complaints about the chop. The collards and potatoes on the side were really just ok. The sourdough appetizer with olive oil and garlic was delicious. Service here was strange to me. They're definitely trying to be a "white tablecloth" establishment. We were seated near the kitchen and our water glasses got filled up almost too frequently... I know, that's me being picky. The most outstanding thing was the banana pudding cheesecake. I would like me some more of that.

Ambiance was nice but service was not great for our group of six…read more We started by ordering drinks and four appetizers. Four of the five drinks arrived, then the appetizers came. Our server never checked on us so we couldn't inquire about the missing drink. We ate all of the appetizers with our menus still on the table because he didn't come back to take our dinner order until we had eaten all of the appetizers and had to flag down someone else to ask if we could place our entree order. Have never had that happen at any dining establishment let alone a higher end restaurant like Surfing Deer! It took a long time for the entrees to arrive and to get our drink order corrected. The original adult mocktail was given to one of the kids and it was unclear that it was her kids drink that was never brought to the table. Our truffle fries were cold, the pad Thai was chewy and oddly salty. Those things could have been overlooked but we just felt overall that we weren't really being cared for at the table so we skipped dessert. It was a very disappointing experience. Food wise: --Hushpuppies 3/5 just standard nothing special --Brussel sprouts 4/5 good but oily and small portion --clothes hanger bacon 4/5 for flavor and presentation. Rosemary torched at the table was odd bc it didn't flavor the bacon it just made smoke go everywhere --surfing deer chicken nugs 5/5 like an elevated chick fil a nugget with a delicious slaw --Seafood acadania: 5/5 delicious --Fish of the day: 4/5 small ish portion but good --Pesto pappardelle: 4/5 good but a bit chewy --Pad Thai: 2/5 what was that even? very chewy noodles with super salty sauce. Not even a relative of pad Thai --Kids petite filet mignon 4/5 super good but fries were cold and 22.00 for a tiny steak
