Guava and cheese pastallito, spinach empanada Baked
Teanya B.

I absolutely love the food from Pinecrest bakery. The atmosphere is like a mom and pop feel. They are usually busy in the morning. You grab a number at the counter and wait to be called. This time I got a few pastries. My favorite is the spinach empanada. It's baked and packed and delicious. The coffee is always excellent! Service is mid. The girls do what is necessary.

Fun spot to stop for breakfast. So many great choices, I had to try a few things and all were really tasty. Super appreciate that the Woman who helped me suggested I order the guava pastelito, instead of the guava empanada, which was huge. This was the first time I've had a spinach empanada and it was yummy.

I have ordered deliveries from them before. They are open 24/7. They turned the dash delivery person down without any explanation. They never called me. I called them three times and the phone rang for a long time and never answered. The worst customer service I have ever had with them. Will never order from there again. Today is Tuesday July 26,2022 8:20 pm. See pictures as that they even confirmed my order.

I went to Pinecrest Bakery in Homestead quite a few times and usually am happy with everything that I buy if I go early in the morning when everything is fresh. Usually in the morning it is very full you take a number and wait to be called and have to pay attention since some times people walk in and try to order. They kept bringing out fresh pastelitos since it was early. I ordered guava and cheese pastelitos and ham croquetas. Along with a warm bread. The workers are usually friendly enough. Everything I ate was so good and fresh yesterday I was overjoyed to be having pinecrest for breakfast! Sometimes when I go in the afternoon the croquetas and pastelitos here are horrible but early in the morning it is all great!

This is our Croissant Sandwich we paid good money for!

I enjoyed an outing with my cousins here and treated myself to a dozen rolls and a vanilla shake. There's space to just hang out, enjoy some other sweet treats available by a food truck, and sit down on benches. Leashed doggies we're here to accompany and made some friends along the way. The menu has stayed the same with pies, rolls, and breads. Not all veggies are available they use to have but still the mos5 "popular" veggies remain. They still seperate the baked items from the shakes and drinks. I came on a weekend and there was practically no line which was unusual for me but appreciated. The smells, tasted, and feels are still the same. I'm glad someone took over but kept the tradition.

While I thought it was a pretty solid cinnamon roll, there was nothing really overly exciting about it. It was just a decent cinnamon roll. We also tried the strawberry milkshake and I will say that was also pretty good, especially on a hot Florida afternoon. I appreciated the real strawberry flavor. Additionally there wasn't a lot to do when we got there. Maybe it was because we were there at the end of the season, but from what I could tell there wasn't really only the bakery and milkshakes. Again, solid option but I had heard so much about this place and just don't quite understand the viral nature of this place. But overall a good thing to do to spend an open late afternoon

If you're heading south toward the Everglades or anywhere near Everglades City, a stop at Robert Is…read moreHere is absolutely non-negotiable. This iconic fruit stand is a true South Florida institution. From the moment you pull in, it feels like stepping into a charming, old-school roadside market bursting with color and character. Crates overflow with vibrant tropical fruits, the air smells sweet and fresh, and the whole place has that nostalgic, family-run charm you just don't find everywhere anymore. The mamey milkshake is my go-to and hands down my favorite. It's unbelievably thick, creamy, and packed with rich tropical flavor. One sip and you'll understand why it's legendary. Beyond the milkshakes, they carry incredible local honey, homemade sauces, unique jams, fresh shallots, beautiful vegetables, and perfectly ripe fruits. The exotic fruit selection alone is worth the trip. you'll discover varieties you didn't even know existed. What makes it even more special is that Robert himself is often there, still working and interacting with customers. It adds such a personal touch. Everyone on staff is genuinely kind, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or offer recommendations. Don't skip the back area, there's a small petting zoo where you can buy feed and interact with the animals, which makes it a fun stop for families and kids. It's more than just a fruit stand . it's an experience. A must-visit South Florida classic.

Robberies Are Here is more like it…read more We stopped at Robert Is Here for what should have been a fun family experience. Instead, we left with a smashed rental car window, 1,500 dollars in stolen valuables, and a ruined vacation. Our car was broken into while parked directly in front of the property -- in plain sight. We weren't even there for 15 minutes. When we asked about security camera footage that might help identify who did this, we were told the cameras don't work. Let that sink in. A high-traffic tourist destination with non-functional security cameras and apparently zero deterrent for criminals who clearly know this area is an easy target. This isn't a random isolated incident -- this is a known problem and the owners have done nothing meaningful to protect their customers. Working cameras, security presence, adequate signage warning visitors of the risk -- none of it. Just a cute fruit stand with a dangerous parking lot and zero accountability. (To be fair, the employees seemed remorseful, and gave us some trash bags and tape to cover the window.) Save yourself. Buy your fruit somewhere else. No smoothie is worth what this visit cost us.
