Passing thru the area from the keys and looking for authentic Jamaican food, we found this quaint little gem they yelp and glad we stopped by. We had conch fritters, beef empanadas, oxtails, curry goat and sweet and spicy salmon. Everything was made from scratch. The owner was welcoming and explained how each dish we ordered was prepared. Service was quick Will pass thru again when given a chance!!!! Highly recommend if you're looking for Jamaican food in the Homestead area.

This small neighborhood spot has a cozy, local feel, and when we arrived around 5 PM, it was packed. The restaurant was clearly a popular choice, with both dine-in and takeout customers keeping the place busy. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. There was only one person taking orders and handling the register, and she seemed overwhelmed. We had ordered our food 30 minutes in advance, yet when we arrived, we still had to wait another 30 minutes before receiving it. It appeared that they hadn't even started our order until we got there, possibly due to the high volume of customers and takeout orders. While waiting, we decided to order a slice of cake, a bottled soda, and a juice, which added an extra $23 to our total--definitely on the pricier side. When we finally got our food, it looked great, but the flavor didn't live up to expectations. Unfortunately, the food also didn't sit well with me, though my partner didn't have the same issue. Overall, while the restaurant has high ratings, we personally didn't feel it was worth the wait or the cost. Perhaps its popularity comes from being one of the few Jamaican spots in Homestead, FL, but based on our experience, we wouldn't be in a rush to return.

Stopped here after shopping at Robert is Here fruit market. We met the owner and he chatted with us about the Haitian/Jamaican background shared by him and his wife. This place has been listed on many "best of" lists and we saw lots of locals eating here -- a great sign! The menu is posted on the wall and has options for almost any eater (vegan/vegetarian/omnivore). We split the spicy slaw plantains, I had the (ya man) jerk chicken, and my wife had the jerk veggies with tofu. I've had a lot of jerk chicken and this was hands down the best I've ever had. The spice was on point and the chicken was juicy and tender. My wife loved hers too. You can pay with cash or card, but there is a cash discount and menu prices are "cash prices." Honestly the difference must have been pretty small. One of the best meals on our vacation to Miami and the Keys!

Delightful and delicious lunch on our way to Key West on Thursday! Rochelle greeted us as soon as she opened the restaurant and she charmed us from the get go. Pride of ownership shines through her presentation of the menu. The food is made fresh to order and it shows through every dish from the fresh juice to the entrees. We really can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience at Yardie Spice. Thank you, Yelp!

    Mixed fruit juice

What an amazing place! From the moment we walked we were treated like old friends. The owners were so welcoming and eager to share their love of the place and its food - mix of Jamaican and Haitian cuisine. The jerk chicken was outstanding, as was the sweet chili salmon, plus a delicious house made mix of mango and passion fruit juice with turmeric, followed by passion fruit key lime pie. We left happily stuffed.

Must be good!! Haitian/Jamaican food. I'm excited!

We were starving during our very long road trip from Orlando to Key West and made a pit stop in Homestead. I looked up hidden gems in this area and found that Yardie Spice had a lot of great reviews. Plus a fellow Yelp Elite had recommended it as well. When they say hidden.. they were absolutely right. If you're not paying attention, you'd definitely miss it. The restaurant is located in an unassuming spot at a really tight intersection. Literally hidden in plain sight. As soon as we found it, we almost second guessed ourselves into thinking we were at the wrong place. But as soon as we walked in, we realized we were in the right place. The inside is really small that you actually have to go outside to their sister business to use their restroom. I got lucky however and the owner let me use their personal bathroom. You'd have to walk through the kitchen to get there. As I walked through the kitchen, I met two really nice women whipping up a storm cooking some delicious Jamaican food. I knew then that we were in for a real treat! We started off with conch fritters with a side of their spicy dipping sauce. This was my first time ever eating conch fritters and I was quite impressed with the taste and texture. I honestly didn't know what to expect really other than it was delicious. For our main, we had the spicy chilli salmon. Their juice was refreshing and the coconut rum cake was moist and flavorful. The owners were so nice and welcoming. I loved the decor on the walls. Even though it's small inside, it had that homey family feel. Definitely reminded me of my trips to Jamaica. I'd come here again next time I'm in the area.

It's small on the inside, but what they lack in space, they make up for in flavor, and service. The jerk chicken is fantastic, of course, but so is anything else you'll try from the menu. Don't pass up the juices. Very, very good & like no one else does it. You will be made to feel right at home, and you won't be disappointed.

Oxtail with plantain, salad, and rice with peas

I cannot recommend this place enough. The female owner was fantastic, so welcoming and kind. And the food... AMAZING! The oxtail was falling off the bone. When you're in Homestead, you have to come here. I'll definitely be back.

Curry tofu ($14.50) and a side of jerk tofu ($12.50)

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly man who took my drink order and told me to sit anywhere. Turns out he was actually just a very friendly customer and the only staff member there at the time was a lady, who was very nice once I finally interacted with her, single-handedly taking orders and oozing that southern hospitality. So that was an interesting first impression! Aside from that, the service and food were both top notch. They have an extensive selection of plant based options, and I heard good things about the jerk and curry tofu. I wanted to try both and ended up getting a curry tofu dish with a side of jerk tofu. The jerk tofu is medium spicy (ended up being a little too spicy for me but I was informed in advance), while the curry tofu is pretty mild. Both were very flavorful, and the curry is slightly different from many South or East Asian curries I've tried. The jerk tofu goes extremely well with the salad, plantains, and rice that the curry tofu dish comes with. My only concern is that the side cost $12.50, only slightly less than the entree ($14.50). It didn't seem reasonable given the much smaller quantity of food in the side. The restaurant is small inside but when I went on a Friday evening there were a few some seats available. Plenty of parking available.

Incredible Jamaican food well-deserving of its 5-star rating. We were looking for somewhere to grab dinner while staying in Homestead, and EVERYWHERE we looked recommended coming here (even our Airbnb host said it was the best food in the area). It is the definitely a hidden gem - unassuming from the outside but with incredibly delicious food. The Combo #1 is the way to go. The jerk chicken is juicy with the perfect spice. You also get a salad, some rice, and plantains. If I could've just ordered a plate of the plantains, I 100% would've. The brown stew chicken was also great, but I'll always pick the jerk chicken. Their Jamaican patties are tasty as well. Grab a slice of the coconut rum cake for dessert. We absolutely devoured it - so moist and flavorful. You will not be disappointed. They definitely get very busy during dinner time. We were able to grab a seat at their counter, but there was a bit of a wait for a table. It seemed to be family-run, and there was only one person running the dining area. All the food is made fresh to order, so it does take a little longer for your food. That all being said, the wait was well-worth it, and everyone working there was so friendly that it wasn't even a problem. Plus, it was so busy and lively that it was nice to sit back and enjoy the ambiance. If waiting isn't your thing, they do take-out and you can order in advance. Overall, hands down recommend stopping here to eat. You will not be disappointed.

Overall the service was just OK. One of our dishes didn't come out with the others which was unfortunate as everyone was done eating when it finally did come out. One nice thing was they prepared small plates of fries and ketchup for our youngest boys who weren't interested in the Caribbean fare offered. The food and presentation was nice, but seemed to be very overcooked and dry. Perhaps just an off-night for the staff. I was encouraged to see several takeout orders being picked up so seems like they're a local favorite.
