They opened at 11:30 and I was standing there as soon as the door opened. It's such an old school feel, something out of the 1920's or 30's. Then again considering the history of this hotel, that's not too surprising. I was offered a basket of free house made chips; that was super cool! The bartender gave me some recommendations, but I went with the turkey sandwich. I pretty much knew I was going to go with it too. Thick cut turkey (and I do mean thick), applewood-smoked bacon, Munster cheese, lettuce, sliced red onion, tomato and chipotle aioli on focaccia bread. What a great sandwich, one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. I got the sweet potato fries for my side, they were hot and crispy. With the side of honey mustard (which I also poured on my sandwich), it took everything over the top. Oh and it included a big pickle spear, always a plus! And for $16, that's a heck of a deal for Pinehurst. The beverage selection isn't the biggest. They have three draft beers, but there are a lot more canned options. Super friendly service as well.

My Hilton Garden Inn the night before charged 16 dollars for the same items. Tiki served everything, including my tea, juice, and milk, and even filled my water bottle with ice and water. She told me she loves serving her customers. She was very friendly and talkative. I complimented her at the front desk and my Hilton review. The room was typical, and they have an outside pool and fitness center. Conveniently near lots of shopping and restaurants. They won a hotel award for the area. They also have a bar and serve lunches/dinner. Even has an outdoor putting green. Pinehurst area the golf capital of the US.

The room was clean upon arrival. The sleeper bed isn't the most comfortable, but it did the job. The bathroom was well stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker station. The only thing that brought my stars down was the elevator. Josh Dobson needs to check with Cherry Berry's notes, because I was scared! It made a slamming noise and shrill every time it went up and down. I didn't hear outside noises throughout the night. They had a simple breakfast in the lobby area in the morning. The desk clerks were super nice. They have a snack area. I've stayed here twice and I have no problem staying again. The surrounding area is convenient to a lot of stores and restaurants.
