Be careful here. These owners are just trying to take all they can. I bought two trees last year for a whopping $600 and they wanted to charge me for two deliveries. I suggested that since the truck was going to the same place, maybe charging twice wasn't necessary? After talking to a manager we finally figured out a way to reduce the price. Anyway, this year when I brought a stand back for exchange I was told they wouldn't take it because the spike had come off in the tree. I get it - but when you have a stand that's been on a 12' tree you sold last year for literally hundreds of dollars, you'd think this would be an easy way to make a customer happy. So - this year I only buy one and I pay for a new stand, get home and put water in it - the stand leaks. Not great. I go back, tell them I'd at least like a stand that works if I'm going to buy a new one from them every year. They put the tree on a new stand, I get it home, it doesn't drink. This is going to be dead before Christmas. While they have a good selection and the guys helping us check out trees have been really nice, nothing is free. The stand, the delivery, everything is an upcharge and they don't value repeat clients AT ALL. We'll head somewhere else next year; they've taken their pound of flesh and we're done. read more

Pros - Has a decent selection and the workers were kind and helpful. Cons - we paid over $200 for a tree and then we're told it couldn't be flocked that night, which isn't a big deal. Came back two days later to pick it up as directed and it still wasn't flocked and we were told we'd have to come back again the next day to pick it up. Just poor business really. Manager offered us a free stand but we already own one. I would have expected a small partial refund for our inconvenience or at least a free wreath or something. read more

Worst experience ever! For the past few years we have been coming here to get our Xmas tree. And this year we were very excited, my mom and bae and I went right now to get our tree. As soon as we got here mom started speaking Spanish and the main guy I think he's name is joe didn't seem very happy and he asked me what she was saying and I explained to him what she was saying. So anyways we were looking all around and we finally picked the one we wanted and bae went to call the guy and I waved at him as well. This is when everything gets bad! There was a family there (white) and we (Mexicans/Americans ) the main guy asked the other family if they didn't want the tree we wanted to get! RACISM!!! Right there!!! Wow that made my heart dropped! How in the world in 2019 people can keep making those actions. The guy told the other family if they weee sure because they were first before us! Like wth!! And they said no we don't want that tree! That family wasn't even looking at that tree they didn't even buy anything. So only because they didn't want it he sold it to us! That is such a big discrimination. Anyways we got a 250 dollar tree and I could see how unwelcome we were there. And things just got even worst! Bae offered to move his truck closer and he said "I'll bring my truck over here" and when he was driving the main guy started laughing with the helper and said "that is not a truck (laughing) that is a California truck" just because it was a SUV. Overall it was a horrible experience and we all felt discriminated and unwelcome. We didn't tip them because they didn't deserve it! We always always tip but not this time. And by the way they didn't even put the tree tight on the truck because half way home it fell off and we had to stop in the middle of the freeway to fix it. The variability and selection of trees sold here is vast and ranged from the hot pink squatty trees lonely Del Mar housewives can buy for their purse dogs to the oh-dear-god-that-tree-is-$900 Rockefeller Center models. They sell all sorts of other Christmas paraphernalia as well but truth be told my attention was consumed by the two story Santa Clause blowup doll that will surely haunt my nightmares for weeks to come. The workers are very friendly and the service here is nothing short of outstanding. They can net your tree up for an additional $2, offer to arrange it in your stand if you have one, haul it to your vehicle, tie it down for you, and I believe they even deliver if you're too prissy or decrepit to handle that part yourself. All of this and not a single one of the large, chainsaw wielding men had murder in their eyes - which is a pleasant departure from my daily routine. read more

This is the second year in a row we have paid $200 for a tree only for it to be dead and brown after a week or two. Both times, when we got them they suspiciously did not have much fragrance. We have made sure the stand never runs out of water, which was easy because the tree did not seem to be absorbing any. Still over two weeks to go until Christmas, and I imagine it will be a serious fire hazard by then. I've been getting Christmas trees for decades and know what to expect, how to care for them. The delivery service is convenient, but ultimately not worth it to have your Christmas ruined by greedy people who probably know their trees are bad. read more

Profoundly disappointing. I'll start with the only good thing I can say about this business, the people are nice, but the product is horrible. Extremely expensive, but Low quality. What can you say. Avoid if you can. We bought a tree for $200 that we could have gotten from anywhere for $30. Advertised as7to8 foot and if you count a foot a bare trunk at the bottom and a foot of a single spare stem at the top it might measure barely seven foot. Tree Was spare and narrow. Tried to do the right thing due to COVID and have the tree delivered, but if you realize that we could have got a comparable tree for $30 the $170 we paid for delivery was basically completely unreasonable. The manager said it was the best they could do and wouldn't reduce the price for this one. I'd be willing to pay $30-$50 for delivery but I consider $170 a rip-off read more

Just witnessed a team of Pinery employees in a delivery truck carelessly flick their cigarette embers out the window during one of the worst fire seasons in California history. People are losing their homes, livelihoods, pets, and potentially their own life during these tragic times. To have the audacity to even smoke a cigarette during this is inexcusable. This is our third year coming here. The selection was great. The owner said that they are really busy so far this year. They were almost wiped out of their trees because everyone came out early this weekend. But they are restocking and unwrapping trees quickly. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I met the owner after walking around and not finding exactly what I wanted. He walked around with me to make sure I saw every tree with the specifications I gave him until I found the perfect tree. We visited many Christmas tree farms until we finally landed on this beautiful natural noble fir at The Pinery Location in Vista. Jan was the Manager on shift and offered us a package deal we couldn't refuse. Part of the deal was to flock the tree so we would leave it there and pick it up the follow day. The following day she called and couldn't deliver the flocking part because the tree was to large. She trucked the tree to the Del Mar location where they had the means to flock a tree over 15 feet and the Manager Andrew was awesome to help assist us at no additional charge. I really appreciate the staff at Pinery and Chewy was great to help Andrew load the tree in to my truck and help secure it. We have gotten our trees from these folks for at least six or seven years now. We always get the tree right after Thanksgiving, and it always stays fresh through Christmas. They will deliver the tree right to your house and set it up for you, too. Very pleasant service that will keep you, your car, and your house a lot cleaner. A 7-8 footer is $55 Douglas and $95 Noble. Very nice selection: Skinny - yes; Fat yes; Bushy- yes, Sparse-yes (which is nice if you have lots of big ornaments you want to showcase). The 6-7 footers are cheaper (I think $40 for Douglas, and $75 for Noble?) Delivery is $20. If you want to use their stands, $15. If you have a very tall space, they have very, very tall trees too. When I got there late in the month, they still had plenty to choose from, convenient parking and Affordable prices. Everyone there was helpful as well! I have bought several trees from them in just this past week. I brought my own tree stand every time and they put it on for me at no charge, and loaded it into my car. Horrible experience. If you are Hispanic or Latino I'll recommend to get your tree somewhere else. I arrived with my mother in law and wife In search of our Christmas tree. Surprisingly, We didn't feel welcomed whatsoever. Long story short, the two guys in charged of the business were making rude comments. At the moment I didn't let it affect me until we finally picked our tree. We told the guy we were ready, and pointed at the tree we wanted. He said "hold up, let me check with this family because they got here first" The family wasn't even interested in the tree we wanted!!! Why would you ask them if they wanted the tree we picked? So if I get there before other people and they pick their tree are they gonna ask me if I want the tree they want ?? doesn't make sense. But whatever we decided to buy the 250 dollar tree. As they were wrapping the tree up I offered my self to bring my truck closer to Make the job easier for them. As I park my my truck my wife heard them say, "haha that's not a truck." Service is always friendly and very patient with helping you look at the trees. The crew did a great job of trimming the bottom for us and attached to our roof. Wonderful Customer service! I bought a beautiful tree last Friday and the guys gave it fresh cut, wrapped it up and secured it to the top of my SUV. Once I got it home and we put it up we realized that although it was gorgeous on the outside, it was dropping tons of brown needles and had lost most of its needles on the inside. Knowing that I wanted this tree to last through the holidays, I went back the next day to discuss the situation with the manager. Ron was great. No questions asked, he suggested I pick out a new tree. I was hesitant as I didn't want to go through the hassle of carting it home and putting it up again. No issue there. Ron said they would deliver it for free and put it up in my stand as well as cart the old tree away. The guys that delivered it were also great and very professional.
