Overview: great class, terrible traffic and parking, but worth it!…read more ---- Located in Ocean Beach so traffic getting them is crazy and parking is toughhh, especially on fridays, and the weekend. Make sure you give yourself enough time when planning on getting therWe found some street parking a couple blocks away and walked. Our instructor, Aurora, did a quick demo and then we were left to create our pieces. We had 3 balls of clay (give or take a half pound each ball) to work with and you get one free piece firing included with the class, and additional pieces to fire are $10 each. It's pretty autonomous but if you need help the instructor is there to assist you. After you create your pieces, you pick a glaze and then clean up the work station. The class is 90 minutes and it goes by quick, time flies when you're having fun!! ---- Overall: had a fantastic time creating pieces that will hopefully be functional ware, a great date idea, I can't wait to be back and try out their open studio times

Loved our recent visit to Botanica in Ocean Beach! At first glance, it looks like an adorable plant…read moreshop, but they also host ceramic wheel-throwing classes, which my boyfriend and I decided to try--and I'm so glad we did. Our class was on a really nice day, and for a super reasonable price, we got 1.5 hours on the wheel, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The wheel throwing class is either indoors (behind the plant shop) or in the back (half exposed garage). We were in the back and it was a good amount of space for our group of 4 people. There were more couples next to us as well. Also, I loved that they allow you to bring outside drinks to enjoy while creating, making it a fun and relaxed experience. Our instructor was great--attentive when needed but also gave space to explore at your own pace. This wasn't our friend time on the wheel, but we were with friends who were new to wheel-throwing, so he assisted when needed. I can't wait to see our finished ceramic pieces! Whether you're a plant lover, an aspiring ceramicist, or just looking for a unique experience, Botanica is definitely worth checking out. After your session, it's a good excuse to explore the streets of OB - especially on a very sunny day. I'll definitely come back another time.

If you're a dog owner, this is your kind of place. They even have a pup cup bar. I'm adding a brief clip from our visit that highlights the kind of small touches that make this place stand out. Dog‑parent perks aside, this nursery has the best ceramic pot collection in all of San Diego. Beautiful colors, every size you can imagine, matching saucers -- everything. And the prices are genuinely great. If you're hunting for something specific, they've got you covered. There's also a sweet little section of home décor, patio goodies, and dog items sprinkled throughout the store -- perfect for gifting or treating yourself. Plenty of parking, a rewards system, friendly vibes, and a super dog‑friendly atmosphere. Make this your new go‑to dog‑walk destination. Enzo and I already did.

Cuffel Farms is definitely one of the things I miss most in SD! The variety of airplants Andy has is amazing and the prices are so reasonable! He is also so friendly and patient in answering all airplant care questions! I used to have to buy airplants to replenish the airplants I've killed, but now, I'm able to care for them and keep them alive better. Will definitely be back here when I can! Definitely has lots of instagramable spots! If you love plants and love a beautiful ambiance, then definitely check this place out!

I was a little worried about which plants to purchase because I don't have a green thumb, but Andy answered all of my questions! I'm now a loyal customer because the product quality and customer service are unparalleled. Unlike other shops, Andy keeps his prices fair--I've seen other shops that have triple the prices for the same product. It is evident that he loves what he does, and wants other people to love plants as well. Also, I felt very comfortable shopping there during this whole pandemic. The space is outside and Andy wore a mask the whole time.
