Our instructor, Aurora, did a quick demo and then we were left to create our pieces. We had 3 balls of clay (give or take a half pound each ball) to work with and you get one free piece firing included with the class, and additional pieces to fire are $10 each. It's pretty autonomous but if you need help the instructor is there to assist you. After you create your pieces, you pick a glaze and then clean up the work station. The class is 90 minutes and it goes by quick, time flies when you're having fun!! ---- Overall: had a fantastic time creating pieces that will hopefully be functional ware, a great date idea, I can't wait to be back and try out their open studio times

The wheel throwing class is either indoors (behind the plant shop) or in the back (half exposed garage). We were in the back and it was a good amount of space for our group of 4 people. There were more couples next to us as well. Also, I loved that they allow you to bring outside drinks to enjoy while creating, making it a fun and relaxed experience. Our instructor was great--attentive when needed but also gave space to explore at your own pace. This wasn't our friend time on the wheel, but we were with friends who were new to wheel-throwing, so he assisted when needed. I can't wait to see our finished ceramic pieces! Whether you're a plant lover, an aspiring ceramicist, or just looking for a unique experience, Botanica is definitely worth checking out.
