The raspberry Matcha just tastes like raspberry you don't even taste the Matcha at all.

I come here every weekend and LOVE their oat milk latte. The ambiance is so cute & the Staff are friendly. My only downside is $1.25 for oat milk!! I think that's so ridiculous and over the top & it makes me not come every weekend unfortunately. read more

Simple but blunt review: Pros- This coffee shop is cute and has a unique edgy, but cute contemporary vibe. The staff is generally friendly and the service has been mostly great. The drip coffee has not been bad in my experience, and I've enjoyed and tolerated my espresso drinks as well. Cons - The prices. There is not justification for me to visit the Pink Owl daily or even weekly, because of the prices. I live in the vicinity of Pink Owl and have not visited it more than 30 times in two years because of the prices. I know Petaluma wants to pay their employees high wages and be progressive and what not and an undisclosed amount of $$ go to cancer research, and that's great, but who ends up having to fork out more money to fund this? EVEN with the occasional $2 off, $5 off rewards, it is cheaper to go elsewhere. "You've earned a reward" is a message not worth looking forward to, because you still end up having to shill out more money than expected. What's the point of $5 off if I still have to pay an additional $4 for a large cup of hot milk and a dash of espresso in the guise of a latte? Pink Owl is not quality enough for the prices. Petaluma has great quality coffee and Espresso in abundance. It sucks because it's a cute shop that I would enjoy if it wasn't for that slight little hiccup. On that note, I don't know a single Petaluma local that raves about Pink Owl or religiously visits them or even talks about them. I can say they do rave about other coffee shops though. Coffee and the young lady with the blonde curly hair and blue eyes were the highlights of our visit. The girl with brown hair in a bun was terrible. I had asked for my sandwich to be warmed up open face so the bacon could become crispy. Blonde girl got it but unfortunately the brown hair girl decided to not do it so when I got my breakfast sandwich it was you guessed it cold cheese one bite in so I asked her to warm it the way I had originally asked and when I finally got it back she had opened it to warm it but unfortunately it was still cold in the middle. This girl has zero customer service, well to me but to the men in line behind me she was very nice and accommodating for them. Whatever. The blonde girl was great and the coffee was great. read more

What a disappointment. We are coffee heads and champions of small business. As one could tell from our reviews. Popped in here early afternoon on. Friday. Asked the young woman working what a "Cheney for two" was. She literally had no idea it was on the menu but at our suggestion, agreed it was just two pour overs. So we ordered. She then pulled two cups from the drip dispenser while shielding it with her body. (I've raised 4 teenagers). When we spoke up, she was all "oh these are for Uber eats- but she never put them on the pickup rack. She finally started one pour over and kept shuffling things around, finally handing us the pour over and one of the drips. At that point we were too disgusted and just left. Neither coffee was that great and the drip was full of grounds. That's a "never again" from us. read more

The girlfriend wants to come here for coffee when we are in town. And since our hotel is nearby she has dragged me here for coffee even though we have the hotel brekkie. To be fair, the coffee & homemade scones are pretty good. I am partial to a good cappuccino & theirs isn't bad. On a side note, Go to Avid Coffee on 4th, they make bomb cappuccino. The place is very clean , quiet and comfortable, a great place to sit back and relax . Espresso is very bold something I'm not into but lots of people are . If you like bold coffee you will like it and if you do not like bold coffee it will be just alright . The last thing is they donate to breast cancer so that's a plus . I always try to support small, local businesses. I was excited when a Pink Owl first opened, and the first espresso-based drink I had from them was great! The espresso shots were perfectly pulled with great texture and balance between acidity and earthy, roasted notes, with hints of sweetness and baking spice. The next time around (maybe 2-3 weeks later), it was pretty mediocre. Fast forward 2 years, and it's continued to be very inconsistent but with a general downward decline in quality, which is a total bummer. Someone that knows what they're doing needs to come in and dial in the grinder and the espresso machine each morning and it just seems very clear to me that nobody has been doing this on a regular basis. You know you're not nailing it when the 'bucks can pull a consistently better shot and at $7-8 for a latte (including tip), it's just not good enough IMO. On the plus side, they have a lot of syrup options (including some homemade syrups, if that's your thing), and some pretty good breakfast items (burritos, sandwiches, pastries, even the occasional mochi donut). The pumpkin spice latte I had ordered was unpleasant. I could not find the taste of pumpkin spice in my cup, but instead the bitter and rancid taste of coffee. Also, should I mention it was one expensive latte. I wish I would have just gone to Peet's Coffee instead. This is my local coffee shop. It's in a tough location to turn a profit, and their coffee is very good. I like that a portion of the money spent there goes towards cancer__?__, but it would feel a lot better if they at least had a sign along the lines of "$X.00 donated to [cancer research] last year" or something similar...otherwise it seems like a gimmick. As someone who's been drastically affected by cancer, let us know what this money is being used for...especially considering the exorbitant prices you charge. One other thing worth mentioning...Understanding that food costs are high, and that wasted food is profits lost, your pastries are a complete joke. Shame on me for giving it a 4th try this morning, but it's consistently a let down. Bad grocery store level pastries for double the price that I could get at Whole Foods next door. I really hope you guys can make it work there, but you need to make some changes to keep the doors open. Good luck read more

Every time I go in here I am totally disappointed at how unfriendly the women who work there are. I used to go in a lot previously when I went to the grocery store nearby. I had actually wrote this and decided not to post it. I didn't plan on returning to their location. Today I decided I would try again. Stood at the counter and no one seemed to even be working there. Decided to leave. I work in customer service and I am typically pretty forgiving. But today will be the last time I come in. Hope a new coffee shop opens up on this side of town soon. read more

Having visited Pink Owl Coffee location in San Rafael location, I was excited to try at Petaluma one. But was disappointed after my visit. Finding parking was easy, it's located near Whole Foods. The ambiance of the coffee shop was lovely and eclectic. They have a couple of couches, seating area, also more seating at the back near the restroom. Servers were friendly. They have multiple drink options. We opted for Gingerbread Chai Latte and Maple Spice Latte from their special menu. Ambiance - 5 stars Drinks: Gingerbread Chai Latte- 2 stars. The chai was watered down, didn't have any taste of ginger, it almost tasted like tea bag chai. Maple Spice Latte - 4 stars. It was good spicy, tasted like dark roast coffee though. They have some food options (vegan friendly, which I have tried at the other location). I'll probably give them another chance, but won't be getting the chai latte, will stick to their coffee menu. read more

Looking for a local coffee business to support, I was intrigued by this one's name. It was extra exciting to see they support cancer fundraising (although it is not clear how and to what extent). Nevertheless, we were excited to try this place. The ambiance was welcoming, though the tables were all very close to the kitchen/counter. We ordered a hemp milk latte and a matcha muffin. The latte was smooth and made quickly. Even though I was not sure of the type of coffee it was made with (ie light roast or medium roast or dark roast), it was very good. On the other hand, the matcha muffin was not fresh at all. I did appreciate how it was not a sugar bomb, though. It was also pretty small for the price ($5.50). I may have gotten unlucky with the bakery since I went on a Sunday morning, but it was very clear that it had been sitting out for at least a few days. I fell in love with a surprisingly hard to replicate (correctly) drink on the east coast, and try as I might, I just couldn't find a place out here that did the drink justice. Finally after months, we found Pink Owl and my drink dreams were actualized! We were excited for another coffee shop to try in the area, and have been in now a handful of times. The interior is bright and inviting, and the menu is extensive and full of delicious offerings. I was thrilled to see their mochi doughnuts, and we've tried almost all the flavors by this point. They're all about $4 each and our favorites are definitely the tropical ones (mango, passionfruit and guava). Hubby has sampled a bunch of their pour overs and drip coffees and has declared them all delicious ($3). For my drink, I get a hot oat milk matcha latte with mint syrup and white chocolate ($6.25). I know it sounds like it's a lot going on, and that's true, but it's delicious!!! The people working here are super hard working, really nice, and their drinks are both well made and delicious. I love that they are focused on breast cancer research and support, as one of the owners is a breast cancer survivor. After a road trip on Highway 1, there was a need to get caffeinated. Discovered Pink Owl due to making a grocery run next door at Whole Foods. Not too familiar among these parts, but glad to have found them. We ordered a White Ice Mocha and a Vanilla Lavender Oat Milk Latte. Our drinks were great and pleased with the customer service. They did have a sign out front mentioning Mochi Donuts, but did not see any. Perhaps I was there late in the day. I hope to get a chance to try next time I'm in town. read more

Stopped in for a pit stop on our way up north and immediately I thought the shop was cute. Hot pink, owls everywhere, and comfy seating (including a back area with a fireplace) - my first impression was looking good. And then I ordered an iced oat milk matcha latte to go and waited. ...And waited... Ok, I get this place is new so I'm going to chalk this up to newbie kinks in the service, but that's still no excuse for the very bland drink that I received. Normally I would have requested it to be remade but it took so long to get and we were all eager to get back on the road. So after a few sips it ended up parked in the cup holder for the remainder of the drive. I also wasn't happy that one of the employees was kinda rude to one of my friends. The employee had left her clipboard at the back of a chair that my friend was resting on the edge of when she waited for her drink and gave my friend some unnecessary attitude when she went to retrieve it. I took my toddler here so I could grab a coffee and he could have a pastry. I ordered a hot coffee, a blueberry muffin and asked for some milk for my son in a cup with a straw. The barista helping me had a rude tone and had a clear attitude. Then when I got my coffee both the lid on my coffee and my son's milk were loose. He ended up spilling a bit of milk on himself but thank goodness it was cold milk and not hot coffee! The milk also didn't have a straw and when I asked for one the barista working acted as if I was the biggest idiot for not seeing where they were (navigating carrying a toddler and two drinks is a lot and I'm sorry I just didn't see the straws.) On top of all of this the muffin was so stale and hard we literally couldn't take a bite of it. It's sad because the location acts as if it is a sweet kid friendly spot with the little back area. Would have been a place I would have frequented if not for the rude service. I came here today to get out of the house for a bit because I was having a hard day with my toddler and he's always happier outside of the house but the barista was so rude it actually made a tough day worse. I tipped 25% in the hopes that the positive vibes will rub off and maybe the barista will be nicer to the next struggling mom that comes through. read more

If anyone is coming here wondering if they still carry Third Culture, they don't. I was super bummed once we realized this. I think the bigger let down was seeing what their current pastry/food lineup looks like. All the baked goods looked emo inside their no light display case. They had a refrigerated section with some pre-made sandos, fruit... etc. which also looked to be a bit barren. The coffee menu had a lot of unique choices. Big fan of that but the menu was giving Cheesecake Factory menu vibes. Too many options that there was no way this place could perfect every drink on there. The iced strawberry matcha latte was sweet, had a faint tartness of strawberry but did not have the bitterness that you would expect from matcha. I thought to order a plain bagel with cream cheese and the bagel was very hard. Almost like it got stale then reheated in the oven. I've been meaning to check out this coffee shop for the past year on our way to bodega bay, and finally, had the chance to stop by for a cup of cappuccino!! What an adorable place!! A friendly staff welcomed me as I walked into the shop, and asked if I knew what I was going to order. "Cappuccino, Please!!" I checked out the bathroom, and back room while I was waiting for my order. Back room was so cute. Full of amazing decors, furnitures, and rug. I wish I had a room like that for myself. This is our go-to morning coffee place, since it's just around the corner from our house. The owners put a lot of personality into the atmosphere that makes you feel like you're at home--albeit a somewhat unusual home with black walls and ceilings! The coffee is some of the best in town, and the baristas are also all very friendly, with none of the aloofness you sometimes get at hip coffee shops. We order our coffee "for here" and it comes in a lovely little ceramic cup and the baristas often bring it straight to our couch (yes, there are couches and armchairs)! There are seats outside if you bring your pup, and they'll sometimes even bring a free puppicino (mostly whipped cream) for your dog to enjoy. We're really happy Pink Owl moved into this spot! read more

I have had many great drinks at Pink owl. They make a great Cortado!!! I love the brown sugar oat milk latte as well. The two girls I usually see there (black and teal hair and the one with curly hair) are very friendly and make great coffees. I'll definitely be back again. They have a whole list of different sweeteners, anything you can think of they have it. The matcha overall is pretty good, I'm unsure how I feel about the vanilla. Service was alright, after I selected the tip amount & print receipt, the cashier grabbed her receipt part and walked off. I grabbed my receipt on my own. If you're down in Petaluma and need a good ol' cup of joe, then this place is the way to go! I prepared myself for my morning ritual. Wake up. Stare deep into my soulless eyes in the mirror. Then, go to my nearest coffee shop to start the day. I drove over to Pink Owl Cafe looking forward to a few things: the baked goods, coffee, and what the coffee shop looked like. I live in the Bay Area and Third Culture Bakery, a bakery down at Berkeley, has one of the best mochi goods in the area! Hearing about how Pink Owl is selling their products, I definitely had to get their matcha mochi muffin since it is one of my favorites from Third Culture Bakery. I ordered two matcha muffins, one for me and my sister. The mochi matcha muffins is my favorite because 1.) matcha has this settle taste and isn't overwhelming like chocolate 2.) the texture is chewy and soft 3.) it's way better than a regular muffin. The food already persuaded me, but what pleased me even more was the vanilla latte. The coffee here has a very smooth brew! The vanilla latte had the perfect amount of vanilla that balanced very well with the coffee. I ordered the 20oz cup of coffee and the cup was gigantic! A bigger sized cup than most coffee places that price their coffee for $5.50. I requested to the cashier to substitute regular milk for oat milk, and thankfully they did have it since my sister's lactose intolerant. For the size of the coffee and the quality, this was definitely worth it. The second drink I ordered was the matcha latte which was kind of disappointing. The matcha latte wasn't the worse I've ever tasted, but it could have been better. I like mine a bit sweet which is something that is to be expected with matcha lattes- a little bit sweetened; yet, there was absolutely no sweetener to the matcha latte. It made the drink quite bitter. The whole milk made it tolerable; although, if I were to go there again I would have to clarify to the cashier to sweeten it a bit more even though it should already be implemented. I will give credit where it's due though, the matcha powder they used was quite good. The employees were considerate and accommodating as well. I forgot to mention that I wanted to have my matcha latte iced and so before they made the drink, I asked if it was too late to make my matcha drink iced. The barista reassured me that it was absolutely fine! He even made sure to ask if I wanted my vanilla latte iced or hot as well. Customer service was pretty spot on! I'm surprised there's not a lot of reviews for this place. Their coffee is better than most places i've been to. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in Petaluma who wants to start the morning right! read more
