Wonderful staff ! I love the fact that they had some sort of light on their dog clippers and so they clipped both of my dogs nails to perfection! My husband started taking our dog here after I had spine surgery as it was too hard for me to bathe and groom our dog. Unfortunately, at his last grooming, whomever did his bath did not keep his ears dry or prevent water from getting in them. The result was a severe bacterial ear infection which required a culture, an injection for inflammation, ear cleaning solution and antibiotic drops. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had called the following day after taking our baby to the vet, no answer and left a voice mail. I tried again later and no answer so hung up. The following morning, I called again and someone answered, and I asked to speak to the manager or owner and the young girl put the manager on the phone, I was very polite and explained to her what happened and that I had called and left a message and didn't get a call back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explained my concern to her about what happened and that the vet recommended I call to make sure they disinfected their grooming equipment since this was a bacterial infection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Her tone was uncaring, and I got the impression she did not care and that I was interrupting something more important. This is the first major issues we have had, but no apology, no thank you and the uncaring attitude was not professional. It's not how to treat customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I never got the name of who I spoke with, but she sounded down and like what happened was no big deal. Well, it was a big deal to get to the vet as I had just had surgery the Friday before. I had to wait until our son got home from his college classes that day so he could drive us, $245 later, we left the vet after an injection, ear culture, ear wash and antibiotic ear drops and office visit. I didn't call to complain, but to let her know that the issue needs addressed and their grooming equipment cleaned to prevent bacteria from spreading just in case. All I got was an ok and bye. Disappointed in the lack of caring for the dogs they groom and the attitude of whomever it was I spoke with. This is not how to treat your customers. The least the person could have done was say thank you for letting us know and we will make sure our people watch about getting water in the ears. Not sure if we will return or not, [[HIGHLIGHT]]But to not get a call back after 24 hours and then to just be brushed off when I was very polite and nice about the issue, it just doesn't set well with me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Honestly, if the lady had at least mentioned thank you for letting us know, this review probably would be different, but the uncaring attitude still sticks with me and it's been over a week.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So if you take your dog here to be groomed, you may want to ask them the last time they had their tools disinfected and remind them to protect your fur babies' ears. we have had some minor, non-important little things happen, but this has been on my mind, and I felt as a dog lover, I needed to let people know what happened to our dog, He is almost 7 and he has never been sick. This was his first sick vet visit in his life. I just want people to be aware and to know what happened to our baby. I was unhappy with a couple different places I'd taken my dog to for grooming and my sister recommended Lone Star. It's extremely close to me, so very convenient. I really like that they let the dogs interact while waiting for their turn. I warned them my dog, Henry, is not friendly with other dogs, so they said they'd keep an eye on him. They ask me what I wanted and I was sure to be very specific. He was done in no time at all and looked amazing. I couldn't believe he was hanging out with a couple big dogs and showing no aggression towards them at all. He usually barks like crazy. They did everything I wanted, exactly how I wanted. I think it was about $70, which is a lot for me since I'm a disabled widow, but I know it's really not a lot for all the work they did. I didn't tip and got a 'look,' but once I find a job, I'm happy to be generous. I just can't right now. That's more than my weekly grocery budget. Anyway, all that aside, I'm happy, Henry is happy, and I highly recommend Dog Stars Grooming!!! read more

Omg!!! Definitely found our Wyndees groomer for life! They were exceptional the best customer service! They did a great job with my Wyndee. There was a mix up with my appointment and only because the owner just had surgery and was under meds when she set the appointment for a Sunday. Today Sunday they could have easily called me to reschedule...but not Lone Star. They kept their word! Which to me is GOLDEN! However I didn't know that the owner had surgery until I got there to pick up Wyndee. I felt bad after and I told her that I would have understood if she would have canceled. She has long fur that we didn't want cut really short with clippers, but wanted some of the length off. This required a scissor cut that other places would not do on such a large dog. Took my dogs to get groomed and they cut the tip of Mini's tail off. They did not tell me this had happened , I found out after I got home. I called the next. day and they said they did not think they did it but would check the security tapes and get back to me, they did not. They also said they would pay the Vet bill but they have not. Finally found a terrific groomer for my long-haired dachshund. I don't usually post reviews but I have had horrible luck trying to find a decent groomer. I originally said no hair cut on his back but after his bath, she called to verify if that was what I really wanted. I decided a minor trim would be fine and I'm glad I did. He looked great and smelled great, too. Very conscientious of her. I also love that they don't crate the dogs. He was happily walking freely when I picked him up...like doggie daycare. The owner mentioned that she was a prior Vet Tech so she has lots of experience with pets. Excellent service, excellent grooming. I'll definitely return. read more

Will never go here again. We walked in and was greeted strongly with the scent of urine. Decided to still continue with our appointment to get our Golden Retriever groomed and bathed. Service was fine but I thought it was odd that they let the animals roam around the store freely. Less than a week later she was INFESTED with fleas. My wife and I removed over 20 fleas after multiple baths. This was her only time out of the house within this time period. I will be taking my business elsewhere because I do not want to chance this happening again. read more

I had taken my 6-month-old puppy to PetSmart and they would only do a bath and under belly. They said they couldn't do my because he was biting the clippers. These people today were the best of the best. We have a very large Australian Shepherd with super bad allergies as well as he had mats from getting wet during snovid. He is a big bog with a big attitude but with a little help from my spouse they were able to shave him bathe him and clean his ears. Definitely will go back!!! read more
