For my bridal hair trial, I was told by the stylist to come in with freshly washed hair, with zero product. I have naturally tight curls. Every curly girl knows how terrible that's going to look, so I was really hesitant, but I did as I was told. When I arrived it was super clear that they didn't know what to do with my frizzy, untamed locks. There was some back and forth between the owner and the stylist before I was spritzed with a leave in conditioner and the stylist begin. I asked about additional products and I was told that I'd be buying several products later.... news to me. At this point I was fighting tears. I had really hoped this would be a good appointment and I was so disappointed. Despite myself, it was written all over my face. When I objected to buying a ton of products, when I already have quality products at home which I know work well with my curls, the owner returned. She berating me about not being flexible and me needing to work with them... what? Like literally what? I hadn't been arguing. I had been having my own personal meltdown in the salon chair- trying to figure out how I got into this situation with professionals who don't seem to know basic curly hair care...but I wasn't arguing with anyone. I couldn't understand why she was accusing my and acting like I was being ridiculous. I finally said I didn't think we'd reach an agreement and I left... I really felt pushed out the door. They refused to schedule a hair or makeup trial unless I paid a deposit for the wedding day, so I knew that'd be lost, but I emailed the owner the next day to cancel the hair and makeup services I had scheduled with them. I felt like it was worth telling the owner, whom I'd had such a negative interaction with, what my experience at her salon had been. I didn't want anyone else to have my same experience. Also, I'm also generally opposed to blasting anyone on review sites without giving them a chance to defend themselves. She replied to tell me I she didn't bother to read my email, before she then denied my experiences, told me I was projecting, said that I'd heard wrong, before telling me to never contact her or her salon again. Literally why would I ever want to talk to this person again? So at this point I feel fine in saying, don't take your curls here. Just don't. read more

Worst Day of 2022 After being bed ridden for weeks I was ready to get my hair in better condition and restart my life. I called Pink West in Dripping Springs, the salon I went to for 15 years. It took three calls to secure an appointment. When I arrived on time for my appointment I noticed the building looked depleted and sad with a huge black cloud hanging over it. Inside the horror began with a hairdresser from hell with an attitude that was negative, destructive and altered by a short stint in Hollywood. The stylist did not communicate well and became frustrated with me and my hair choices. She suddenly jumped up and demanded I leave. This caught me by surprise to say the least! This hairdresser obviously was not adept at critical thinking to pull a stupid stunt like this. Does she need to be reminded she is a service provider? She should have been fired that day for throwing a long time client rudely out the door. read more

Please be aware this salons stylists don't properly understand curly and wavy hair. My hair progressively started to look worse and worse, the longer I went to this salon. I started feeling bad about myself and blaming my hair. Well I decided to try out a different stylist at a different studio. He explained to me that I actually have nice wavy hair, but had been getting bad haircut. Its been a few weeks since I got a cut from this new stylist and my hair looks great. Chrissie is a very special hairdresser. My hair is very fine and not much of it. Chrissy made me feel very comfortable and glad to be there. I showed her several pictures of my "desired" look, we discussed my hair quality and options. Not only she was honest, she helped me to chose the best look and haircut. Nevertheless, the toughest critic of any hairdresser and their salon is my husband. He would not gloss over a bad or undesirable haircut. Ever since last Saturday, I was told how beautiful I look. Went to Pink West for wedding day hair and make-up and this was by far the best choice!!!! They are are incredibly friendly. Not the typical business, "I have to be nice to you friendly", but honest to goodness down to earth girls. My mom, sister, and I were relaxed and happy while lounging in their little home turned salon. My hair looked amazing (even the day after...because who has the energy to remove those pins on your wedding night). Heather made small touches here and there until she got the look I wanted. She never made me feel bad about asking for changes, or adjustments. I would recommend them to any bride who wants a relaxing environment on the day of her wedding. read more

I just had a wonderful experience at Pink West! I have been in the area for about one month and was hesitant about a new stylist; having just moved from my dear and very talented lady in Tennessee. However, it was time because my hair is super thick, coarse, and can be difficult to deal with. Noelle was my stylist and she was marvelous!!! We talked for several minutes before she began my cut. She was understanding, professional, friendly... ...I could add many more adjectives. She cut my hair, washed it (as I needed some extra care due to my hair and scalp adjusting to the water, climate, etc), and styled it. My hair looks incredible! Obviously, I went expecting a good quality hair cut, but I got an exceptional cut and style with the added bonus of a caring stylist and a lovely salon. I can't wait to go back! P.S. This review is for the hairstylist I had and not for the Salon as a whole. This was my first visit and when I arrived for my 12:30 appointment my hair stylist was running late which was ok with me at first. Luckily I had no other plans because I was taken to my chair 40min after my appointment time. The stylist came over and sat and talked with me for a good amount of time on what I wanted. I explained that I was just in for a trim on my long hair and nothing more. We talked about the amount to be trimmed and agreed at 1 1/2inch. She asked about coloring and shaping and I said not at this time but maybe in a couple months but that I strictly wanted a trim since I had been having issues with my hair being dryer lately and thinning. To my horror I got my hair hacked off at all different levels! When she was done she called it "shaping." Half the time I was not pointed at the mirror and she cut it dry so I wasn't to sure what she was doing. Instead of getting mad I decided to wear it home and who knows, maybe I could deal with it. I took a shower to wash down the curls she had done so I could see the extent of her cutting. I was in tears. She literally cut a choppy uneven layer from at about my ear level all around my head and then the length was now at my shoulders! Even my husband gasped. There is nothing I can do now and my husband and I both agreed the only thing I can do to fix this is pay the hefty price for extensions. I mean its not even a normal cut. It looks like I gave my kids scissors! Beyond disappointed and upset. Mainly because it was a simple trim. A simple trim! I had hoped that this place being a wedding salon go to that they would have highly trained stylist. I really have no clue how she got this wrong. We talked on the couch for 10 min about the simple trim. I'm baffled, sad & angry. Please be aware before you go in of who you are using. She said she had been there for 4 years but wow! The salon looks adorable and I'm sure this rest of the staff is competent. I must have just been the unlucky one. read more

I love this place! My sister-in-law has been a client for a while and suggested it to me when I was no longer happy w/ where I was going. I have funky hair so I really need someone who gets what's goin' on. I drive a little over an hour to get there but won't go anywhere else now. My sis-in-law has seen two different stylists and has been happy w/ both. I see Stefani, who is FAB! All the people there are really nice. They pay very close attention to what their clients want and discuss any concerns, problem areas, etc. before they get started. Great atmosphere! Don't ponder...make the appointment! The front desk girl and esthetician were very friendly, but that was the extent of the pleasure on my visit. First and foremost their groupon is a bit misleading. They have a $25 option and a $45 option, both of which appear at first glance to be the price of the facial. Don't be fooled however, if you read the fine print you will see that the cost only applies to a credit for a facial. I purchased the $45 facial which is a $100 credit. I figured this would more than cover any facial I was receiving because most facials, especially on groupon wouldn't be over $100. Initially upon arriving at this spa they had minimal seating and had to clear things off of a seat for me to be able to sit down and fill out the new client form. Upon sitting and filling out the form, they moved me out of the way multiple times so that they could get in a drawer behind me. The seats were uncomfortable, and the "waiting room" really isn't a waiting room, it consists of a few chairs in the area that they style hair. It was noisy and uncomfortable and in no way relaxing. The waiting room experience stressed me out. The esthetician was about 15-20 minutes late to our appointment as well, which typically wouldn't bother me but I really didn't want to spend any extra time in the waiting room with the noise and the being asked to move around. The esthetician did seem knowledgeable and pleasant. Initially upon sitting in the bed she told me she was putting acetone on my face. I freaked out. ACETONE is a HIGHLY toxic chemical and I've never had anyone put it on my face. I have even avoided it in my nail polish remover because it is that toxic. Google acetone for more information if you aren't familiar. She kept applying the acetone which dumbfounded me. She mentioned that some dermatologist use it and I am aware that some will apply it prior to a peel, however with its toxicity, it's use should be discussed prior to any application to see if the customer is ok with this. With my avoidance of this chemical in even nail use, you can imagine my terror when someone is splashing it all over my face. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen for this spa. They do not have you sign anything or make you aware that they are applying this toxic chemical. Someone could easily have an adverse reaction. She suggested dermaplaining for me. She however DIDN'T mention how much it would be or that it was over my group on purchase. Dermanplaning is typically $75-$150. At this salon it was $150. I understand that this is a spa in Dripping Springs and they probably are trying to make as much money as possible however it comes off in a sneaky way.. In addition most dermatologist charge less and they are DERMATOLOGISTS not estheticians ... about $120- $130...you can even find places that do this for $50....I've had IPLs for $99 ... The W spa and Four Seasons spa, which are obviously very pricey spas compared to the rest, have facials for about $150 as well .... so needless to say I felt very ripped off upon leaving this "spa"..I had not planned to spend over my groupon amount but now I was spending an extra $50 plus her tip which was $20.. so $70 extra dollars for an experience which was all and all unpleasant both for my nerves and for my bank account. Leaving this appointment, I felt deceived on the Groupon purchase, as well as not valued as a customer in the waiting room, which is again not an actual waiting room but a few chairs crammed in the hair stylist area, as well as very unhappy with the very toxic chemical acetone being applied without warning to my face. The esthetician I will say again, seemed to be knowledgeable and the front desk girl was also very friendly but the overall experience including spa protocol from arrival to finish was poor and I would not recommend this place, compared to the others, for other people looking for a new place for facials at all! read more

I got married in Dripping Springs and so I wanted something local. I live out of town so I just took a chance. I was an extremely laid back bride so I knew it would be fine. There was a lot of confusion with the front desk as they called me several times over a few weeks. I didn't have time to do a trial so Grey was nice enough to call me the day before and we talked through what I was thinking. She told me to bring my veil so that we could just make sure everything After she called me I felt really good about her doing my hair. The only reason that I am giving a 3 is because when I walked in with my veil, someone immediately said my veil needed to go somewhere else because it was a magnet for little hair. While I appreciate it, it was the way she said it. It made me feel like I was doing something wrong by bringing it although I was told to bring it. I was willing to let it go but when it was time to put my veil on she said the same thing again. I finally said that it was an outdoor wedding and the veil was going to get dirty and it wasn't a big deal but she was just rude and again made me feel like I was doing something wrong. I can understand that there are some bridezillas that might make the situation stressful, I again was not one of those brides. Grey did an outstanding job on my hair. It was perfect!! I would recommend her to anyone that needed their hair done for a special occasion. If it hadn't been for the woman that kept making me feel like I was doing something wrong, I would have given the salon 5 stars. read more
