Pinkitzel. How can I put my sorrow it words? To start off everything is morbidly expensive, Which would be understandable if it was actually quality stuff. Their macrons are four dollars a pop and taste like stale cardboard. Their cupcakes, which they're known for, are alright once you scrape 3/4 of the icing off and are (surprisingly) reasonably priced. They're going for a retro princess bubblegum theme for the atmosphere and pretty much hit the mark, but I've been there twice and in the four years between my first visit there wasn't a single change. Their candy is also stale, much like the macrons, but edible at least. My friends response to the macrons was "it's awful, but I feel like I have to finish it." So let's start with the good.. the decor was absolutely amazing and the other items they offer were great. Their was a variety of salt water Taffy that was really great. Now the thing I came here for was the cupcakes. This was my first time here and I go everywhere and buy cupcakes bc I love them that much. I only purchased one bc they were expensive and on the small side. I purchased the strawberry shortcake. By far this was the most disgusting cupcake I've ever ate. The frosting was so disappointing and then the hole inside the cupcake with the strawberry. Ugh. I will never buy another one again not from here. The customer service was great though. read more

What a fun little shop on the edge of Bricktown in Oklahoma City. The cupcakes were really delicious, but small for the price. I also lucked out with the key lime creme soda. It was cold and satisfying on a warm Oklahoma day. There was a great cupcake, candy, and soda selection. They also offer some other odd gifts like bacon mints, bacon wallets, and other. I found the decor beyond tacky and the cupcakes were tiny and flavorless. I couldn't be less impressed. I usually love this type of frivolous, girlie, "just for fun" place but my taste is definitely not...THIS. I was kind of disgusted from the moment I walked in to find a pleather blazer, trilby wearing dude behind the counter and house music blasting at top volume while a bunch of moms chased their tweens around displays of saltwater taffy and I had to make my way around a stroller and infant carrier to get to the counter. At almost 10 pm? Despite the lack of any real value as a bakery, it was garish and lacked any substance. If you really adore the color pink and are eight years old, you'll love this. This place would have no problem being successful in Los Angeles like 3rd Street promenade. However, being from there, I held my standards to the quality of sprinkles cupcakes, and the turtle cupcake i was recommended was very very sweet. It seemed more frosting than actual cake. We walked over from bricktown for dessert and it was meh. The store was ridiculously loud, but I understand that's kind of their thing. Ordered Cupcakes (birthday cake, red velvet, turtle), and coffee. Cupcakes were pretty meh. Even my 8 year old wasn't real thrilled with hers and that's saying something. Was hoping to have coffee with my cupcake, but it didn't come until we were already finished and on our way out of the store. A bit overpriced, but somebody has to pay for all that decor. read more

We had a great experience here! My husband and I were at the arena across the street and walked over to meet some friends. Cute environment and seating area. We shared a pumpkin spice cupcake that was delish and we also shared a peanut butter pretzel truffle that was melt in your mouth amazing!! Very creamy! Loved the music too - way to go guys! What is it with hot pink, black and animal print for cupcake stores? There are other colors and decorative ideas other than what the status quo is doing. Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way, what is it with overpriced cupcakes? Even an excellent cupcake isn't worth $3 and these were not excellent. Personally I'd rather have a gourmet cake using quality ingredients with a light frosting that compliments the cake. Not 3 inches of sugar sweet premade pile on top of a flavorless cake. Tried the strawberry shortcake cupcake and it was pretty good. Also had a little bit on my friend's Oreo cupcake and that was good as well but a little dry. This place is so cute inside and there is tons of merchandise to peruse over while you try to decide which cupcake you want. Might go back to try some of their other treats. read more

LOVE! My fiance and I ended up here by a whim and I immediately fell in love once we pulled into the parking lot. Music was blasting and instantly a smile comes across your face. When you walk in you are taken into another world, the decorations, and the friendly staff are more than welcoming. Am shocked at people actually liking the cupcakes. They get them from Sam's without the icing and then add their own icing to them. For proof just buy a Sam's cupcake and one from Pinkitzel and you will see. Or you might catch the owner like I have many times loading up on cupcakes weekly at Sam's. This is place is so welcoming, it reminded me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with many colors and candys. Well, by BF took me here to get cupcakes for my birthday which I was totally hyped about because I've been wanting to try them. The lady at the counter was very friendly and informative. She actually was a good sales person and convinced me to purchase two different flavors Oreo & Strawberry. They both were so decorative I didn't want mess them up during transport. However, when I arrived to the house both were messed up after all that effort..lol. So, the moment was finally here to taste the goodness that the sales person kept on bragging about. Well, let's just cut to the chase, the cupcakes were the worst ever! The cake tasted like boxed cake and the icing left an artificail taste in my mouth, YUCK! When it comes to cupcakes I'm a critic because I've had some of the Best of Los Angeles. You win some and you lose some, PINKITZEL did not win me over. read more

One of my co-workers bought me and a few other people in my office cupcakes from this place and they were horrible. Nobody ate theirs. I had a salted caramel cupcake that I was really excited to try but no. We all took one bite and threw the rest out. Even she (the woman who bought them) threw hers away and apologized for their taste. It clearly wasn't her fault but the frosting was dense and too sweet and the cake was super dry. It tasted like one of those cupcakes with dyed frosting you see at the grocery store, not what you would expect from a bakery. I thought it might have been a bad batch so a few weeks later I bought a different flavor cupcake as well as a chocolate truffle (thinking maybe the candy would be better) The cupcake was the same - it was horrible. The truffle, however, was good. I learned my lesson after that and will never get cupcakes here. I don't like to write bad reviews but it was really that bad. read more

A great place for teenagers to go get a treat or go out on a date. A little loud, noisy and bright for an adult date night. Very girly decor. Pinkitzel is incredibly pretty inside. It reminds me of a little girls dream. A perfect place to have a birthday party. The cupcakes are decorated beautifully, and the box they are put in is very cute. The cupcakes however, have wayyyyy tooo much icing on them. I literally have to scrape gobbs of it off before I eat it. The breading of the cupcake is pretty good though, not too dry, just a little. Be cautious of the pink hot chocolate, I have gotten it twice, and I could barely hold the cup because it was SO hot. I had to actually just leave it in my car for a few hours while I went to Bricktown, and came back later to drink it, and it was still pretty warm. Overall, this place is decent. If you want real cupcakes, go to Cuppies and Joe. They put the perfect amount of icing, the cake is so moist, they are cheaper, and they still decorate beautifully. read more

Yes, they sell unique favors, but the emphasis seems to be creating fun-sounding flavor combinations and less on actual quality and flavor.
