    Large BYOB
    Kyle V.

Stopped by last night to try the newest Poke option in town. The 2 guys working were very helpful and friendly. The menu was organized well and it was easy to follow their steps. I chose the BYOB option and followed the steps to build my own bowl! I went with the large option and it didn't disappoint. It was a solid portion, which was a relief because Poke can be expensive. My bowl was rice, tuna, classic sauce, avocado, cucumber, carrots, edamame, pineapple, and crispy onions. They also mix other types of seasoning and stuff while mixing it all together, which was great. I really enjoyed the bowl but I do wish the rice came out warm from a rice bowl, rather than cold off the ingredient line. This Poke is very comparable to other options I have tried around the country. Make sure you find a classic bottle of soda and pair it with your Poke!

I've been here a few times. Always build my own bowl. The portions are generous and decently priced. They use fish from fish lads so it's really fresh and good quality. With build your own you get to choose your base, protein, sauce and toppings. You get 6 toppings included and extras are $1 each. This time I got the coconut bamboo rice - wish it had more coconut flavor - ahi tuna, spicy Mayo and eel sauce. Added edamame, mango, sweet potato, crispy onion, scallion, pickled ginger, and chili-garlic oil. Super yummy! My husband got the octopus - said the texture was great on that too!

The poke bowl was surprisingly fresh tasting, from the tuna down to the onion slices. I ordered the pre-made spicy tuna option because the customized menu was overwhelming to me. You can order between a 16 and 24 oz bowl, but the 16 oz serving sufficed and was filling. The service on the other hand was not great. The employee that day did not have patience to explain the options.

Great poke! This place has ample options at a very reasonable price. I tried the octopus, which is an option I don't see often and I really enjoyed it. There was no unchanged for the forbidden rice, which I love. The topping were all nice and fresh, and the staff was friendly. Definitely a perfect place for that poke craving!

When I heard there was a poke spot that uses fish from Fish Lads I knew I had to give them a try. Poke has taken America by storm in recent years and Grand Rapids of course had to join the party. I had the yuzu salmon bowl and vegetarian bowl. They both were very good. As much as I liked the product the dishes had me wishing for something more. Maybe they were too basic. The flavors were too safe. But that's fine because most people aren't as adventurous as me so on that note give this place a try bc the fish is high quality, the staff is super nice, and they sell so many different types of soda!!!

Great food. BYOB with 6 toppings. Unfortunately they forgot to give me my last topping still enjoyable though. Just missing the crunch that I was craving from the Wonton chips.

After visiting Pinktail Poke multiple times, safe to say I enjoy PP as my main squeeze for poke in Downtown Market! My favorite recommendation is the YUZU Salmon with Forbidden Rice/Kale! I don't particularly enjoy mayo in my poke so it limits my options. However PP may be receptive to changes and requests for subs :) It's cool how they have rotating specials like a Spam Bowl previously. If there are different kinds of fish or a combination with like scallops, shrimp, crab, etc. that'd be peachy. I do agree with the comments that the rice is hard for some reason...I am imaging it is because they store/fridge the rice and it doesn't thaw out in time for customers. Perhaps a heater underneath for the rices would be helpful to thaw/mesh it out. So to solve this problem, I get it with half kale, yum! The Small $9-10 is a good deal for one meal, typically with Large $13-14 it's like a meal and a half. Unless you want to hug the toilet, don't eat raw fish beyond a day! The staff are friendly and fast with nice smiles :) Prices are reasonable, but I wouldn't make it any more expensive unless the quality or quantity changes. Ambiance and seating are just around Downtown Market, otherwise it's just a take-out delicious food stand. Cheers to Pinktail Poke!

I've been on a bit of poke kick these past few weeks, and Pinktail Poke has been there to satisfy my cravings. The fresh tuna and salmon, different sauces, and variety of toppings with different textures make building a bowl quite fun. The fish is cut into large chunks and the portion is quite generous. My go-to is salmon, but I like to switch up the sauces. My two favorite toppings are their crispy garlic and shiitaki mushrooms. They have 4 different base options, three of which are different types of rice, but I find the rice a bit on the hard side. I much prefer their kale salad base. The kale is nicely dressed and doesn't have that raw toughness that kale can have if not properly dressed and massaged. It's also great if you're in the mood for a lighter meal. I like getting the $13 meal deal, which comes with a BYOB or Market Bowl, choice of Hawaiian kettle chips, and a soda from High Tide Soda, which they also own; such a great value. Large bowls with salmon are $13 as well. The portion is so big that I usually have leftovers. The staff is friendly and happy to run out for curbside pickup. I'm already looking forward to my next bowl!

I found my spot! I love love love Hawaiian foods and their poke bowl reminded me of Maui! I created my own bowl mixed with tuna (Tossed in poke sauce) and purple rice + my choice of 6 ingredients = radishes, cilantro, pineapple, cucumber, Edamame, and onion. FYI: There are other sauces that can make your bowl sweeter or Spicy. The service is great with any questions you may have too! Enjoy the sunshine, Jennah

Build Your Own Bowl size small

My friend and I love poke. Decided to try this place out. For a small it was 12 dollars. It was on the pricier side. Portion wise is it relatively smaller. Overall, it was okay! It was what I expected it taste. I wish the goguchang mayo had a stronger flavor. It would have made the overall dish tastier. My bowl had salmon, kale salad, gochujang mayo, edamame, crispy garlic, avocado, yuzu, red, and wasabi tobiko. Seaweed salad on the side. Out of the three tobiko the wasabi tasted the best with a little kick. I also really enjoyed the seaweed salad! it tasted really good!

    Yuzu Salmon Bowl

I am a loyal customer of several years now and Pinktail remains one of my favorite places to eat on this side of the state. The quality of the ingredients genuinely isn't matched anywhere else in town, from the protein to the sauces and toppings. I always get the Yuzu Salmon bowl (pictured), and the salmon tastes as fresh as if it were caught this morning. Not only can you not beat the quality or portion size at this price, the customer service is fantastic. Whether you're a regular or a first timer, you can expect to be greeted at the counter like an old friend and expeditiously served a fresh, colorful, and delicious meal. I simply can't recommend this place more highly, it is by far the best Poke in town.

We were seated quickly and despite being pretty busy, our server was great and the kitchen was as well because our wait for food once ordered was minimal. We ordered Gyoza, Bao, Spicy tuna rolls and Big Shrimp Tempura rolls. 1. Gyoza-fantastic. Pan fried just enough to bring out the flavor of the ingredients and wrapper. Most places overcook gyoza and while still decent, are not nearly as good as these were. 2. Bao. Once I tried these out of town I was hooked. Have-not seen them one any menu until I came here. We ordered pork and it was perfect. 3. Spicy Tuna Rolls-slight disappointment. The tuna is ground up and mixed with the spices to make it spicy. I would not order this again. After talking to your server, she said I could oder traditional tuna rolls and have the spices applied externally rather than mixed up in a ground up fashion. Perhaps I will order this way next time but there is so many other dishes that need to be tried. 4. Big Shrimp Tempura. Wonderful.
