This salon does not do any extensions or nail tips,and I should have been told that when i showed them what we wanted,they don't know why I wasn't! . I must have been there on an off day. What a wonderful experience! 1000/10! As someone who has gotten mani/pedis monthly for the last 20+ years, this is one of the top experiences. I am from out of town and was SO pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this gem of a nail salon. From a warm heating pad for my neck upon arriving to a suburb massage, relaxing experience and kind employees (especially salon's manager) to an excellent mani/pedi and designs! Please, please, please TRAIN your nail techs! I did not have an appt but stopped in for french manicure. I WAS THERE FOR OVER 2 HOURS! She clearly was unsure of what she was doing and kept going over and over and over with the dremel and repeating the process at least 4 times. My nail beds were burning and had to stop a couple times due to the gel she used WTF! I had planned to stay for a massage but was so anxious and annoyed, I just wanted to get out of there. I've been going for years. i used to get very good gel manicures. Would last a couple of weeks. this past April paid for a pedicure. On 3 of the nails the gel literally peeled right off. They said to come in and they'd fix it but I was in Florida and frankly didn't have the time. Gave them another chance when I had a gel manicure in June. Same thing the gel peeled off. I had regular polish on my toe nails from another salon that lasted longer! another nonsense suggestion to come in so they could fix it. I didn't have the time and wanted my money back. They took down my info and were supposed to reimburse me. Never saw the money. Will never go back read more

I just was there the other day to get a gel French manicure. After not even 24 hours one of my nails pealed off. I did go back and they had no problem fixing it for me. The next two days all my nails are continuing to peal off. Not sure if they need new polishes but I have never experienced such poor quality after paying so much you would think it would at least last for a week. read more

I enjoyed the experience. Quiet atmosphere and one of the cleanest I have been to. I did a European pedi, which I guess has more massage. Tech was super nice and thorough. I'm all about the massage and she did a very strong one. Polish looks great. Shoulder massage while drying was good but way too short compared with most places - 20-30 seconds because another customer came in. The lack of sanitary liners in the foot spas was a little surprising - they were sanitized by hand - thoroughly but still, a liner is reassuring. Other than those points and the generally higher prices, everything was nice and I would go again. read more

I've been coming to Pinky for a few years and really love it. The staff is always so friendly and nice! They don't skimp on your services even if it's busy or close to closing time. Prices are fair for the services offered. They offer many different spa services that you can't get at other nail salons. Facilities are always clean and you never have that "nail salon" smell! Walk-ins are welcome but I try to make an appointment for days where it will be busier. They care about their clients. In the past I've liked this place, I'd say 4stars. This is my new rating: Been here twice in 8 days. I had a great experience the first time. Lavender pedicure, excellent although I'm not sure how my heels felt roughed up after the pedi, usually the opposite happens and I'm smoother than when I walked in...hmmm. Chair massage, thorough and excellent. Eyelash tinting, excellent!! A week later I still don't need mascara. (Side note: lash tint was done by an Indian woman who was incredibly professional and enthusiastic about her work). On that same visit, I needed repair work done on my (natural) thumb nails and didn't want fake nails put on, so the tech did two silk wraps over my own ripped nails. They looked good, smooth and pretty seamless til day 8, so I came back in to get another manicure and touch those up. I can't mention the techs name, but oh my goodness. No, no, no. She made those 2 repairs look worse than before, one was so weak because she pressed on the weak spot, and ended up loose to the point where you could see two separate layers. A 3rd repair I asked for, looked like a toddler did it. Rough, bumpy, and PEELED OFF hours later. Seriously, silk wrap includes GLUE, how does it peel off?? If she didn't know how to do it, she should not have tried. I couldn't stay to have them painted. Moral of the story: know your tech. Your experience will absolutely vary with service provider. read more

Great for a quick, cheap and enjoyable pedicure. Certain ladies give stronger, better massages than others. I love the massage chairs and the shoulder rub while your nails are drying, always a nice touch. Got my eyebrows threaded here. I typically go to someone in West Haven but today I was too lazy to drive all the way there so I went to Pinky on a friend's recommendation. I had to wait for a bit because they were busy, which is ok. The lady threaded my brows and MAN! It does hurt but it doesn't make my face blow up like a pink balloon the way waxing does. So there's that. I left with symmetrical brows, which is always a plus and the lady gave me a brow massage which was new to me but felt nice. It was $10 plus tip. read more

I have been here a couple of times before, but was never impressed by the lack of courtesy by the guy behind the counter so never made it a regular stop. I don't know if he is an owner or not. We walked in to see that they were not busy(no one waiting), but was told to leave a name and come back in one hour, then told 1:00(which was actually 1hr 15min). We did and were still made to wait. At this point there were more people in the waiting area. I was there for a gel manicure and watched as they said to a lady "You are here for a gel? Sit right here" After waiting 10 additional minutes, making it close to 1 1/2 hrs since we first walked in, we left & went down the street to have a wonderful experience with courteous staff at OASIS NAIL & SPA. I am very disappointed in Pinky's nail salon. I made an appointment over 1 month ago for 7 manicures and pedicures. I explained that this was for a wedding party and asked if we could be done with our appointments by 3pm. I was assured that if we arrived at 12:30pm then we would be done in plenty of time. When I arrived at the salon with the bride I was informed that they did not have my appointment on the books. I was then accused of making the appointment at their Madison location. Even though I was sure that I had made the appointment in Branford I called Madison to ask. I did not have an appointment in Madison. The man at the salon was very rude and made no effort to accommodate our party. He made me feel as though this was my fault and was not apologetic at all. I just left the nail salon and will not return. I was hesitant to go there because it's very Branfordy and boujee. Place is clean and ok for a nail salon. Met my friend who is a regular for a girls manicure. As I paid our bill i realized I had just enough cash , the nail technician asks me "if want to put my tip on a card?" I check for my debit card and realize I forgot my debit card . Even tho the bill was paid for the nail tech waited for my friend to finish her manicure so she can tip. I waited for my friend as I didn't know what to expect from the personnel at this establishment. She told the nail tech she was going to the bank and was coming back. Her nail tech offered to put the tip on her card. First tipping is not mandatory. Second soliciting a tip is tacky. Third don't talk about your clientele in a foreign language . read more

Terrible customer service. I made an appointment for my sister's bridal party 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived they had doubled booked and would only do half the party's nails. They were sheepish and embarrassed but not apologetic and did not offer an alternate time, voucher or even an apology. We ended up leaving and althought we complained to the manager, his response was "ok." I gave them a second chance for Mother's Day and made an appointment for 2 pedicures at 12pm. After waiting 30 mins the manager told us to come back in an hour, seeming to not care that we made an appointment, but the man simply said "ok" when I voiced my complaint. My girlfriend and I went to Pretty last week for a pedicure. Our two nail technicians were very efficient and courteous. Their pedicures include a free 10 minute leg massage. They set a timer and away they go! It was wonderful! Not only did he do my shins and ankles but he also massaged my feet! Nothing like a foot rub :-) then once you get moved over to the drawing table, you're entitled to a free 10 minute neck and shoulder massage. I believe I'm converting!
