Another fabulous job by my guy at TKs in Branford. Ever time I go I say these are my favorite but I have been thinking that for over a year. I went here on Monday, December 23 with my 7 year old daughter. Friendliness The people who work there were very nice and I would rate their friendliness five stars. Cleanliness Unfortunately the stations were not as clean as I would like and tools were not removed from sterile pouches as I am accustomed to. So I would only rate their cleanliness 1 star. Quality The manicures for both my daughter and I were not good at all. Her red nail polish was extremely thick and when I told the nail tech that I did not like it because it looked "chunky" they told me that it was the glitter. Anyway just like I suspected the nail polish was old and peeled off the very next day. My gel manicure was just as bad. The nail technician's technique had much to be desired. The nail polish was really thick on some nails and started chipping the very next day, my cuticles looked awful and the nail polish on one nail completely cracked which has never happened to me before. Nails done by Tiana. She was very nice. She did a very careful meticulous job, definitely took her time and made sure we was doing it well. Some nails are a filed a little crooked, but nothing really noticeable. Just me being knit picky. I wish she would have pushed down and cleaned up my cuticles before applying the acrylic set though. The salon was very clean and had all the necessary covid precautions in place. There was a plastic screen between Tiana and i while she did my nails and everyone was masked and spaced far apart. I didn't know painting over polish was the new thing. Not even 6 days ago and my nails peeled right off. I didn't say anything when they were painting my nails (I never stick up for myself) because they said pink wouldn't show under the black. Went back today to get them fixed and they were only going to fix the ones that were chipped. I made them take off everything and still charged me 15$ after I just paid 50$ last week because the pink under my nails "wasn't their responsibility". Such a rip off !!!!!! read more

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO USE THIS NAIL SALON!! I am 42 yrs old and have been getting my nails done for probably 20 years! And in my whole life this is the 1st time I ever had to write a bad review!! I just love the town of Branford and I feel like I owe it to people to let them know. I having been coming here regularly for a few years and spending a LOT of money getting my nails done there sometimes I'm a bit indecisive about what I want because I have a disability and they know that. I have always been very nice and tip extremely well! I spent over $100 getting a fresh set of gel nails put on about a week ago and 3 OF THEM FELL OFF IN UNDER A WEEK! I called today( wasn't even mad just wanted them fixed) to see if I could make an appointment to get them fixed and get a fill and the owner told me that she wouldn't fix them it was my fault and they will only fix them if they fall off in the first two days! I said I would pay ( even though I felt that wasn't right as I get gel and gel polish and 3 fell off in 3 days and it's only been a week???) Then the owner I believe her name is Lyn also went on to say that she didn't care if I had a disorder or not she didn't like me and she thought I was annoying and she didn't care if she hurt my feelings or what issues I had! That she has enough customers and doesn't need me as one! I was soo hurt and mortified! I have never in my life seen such a RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS OWNER! And honestly she sucks the two times I let her do my nails they looked horrible!!!! The brother was really good! Please share this because it's harder enough living with a disability without mean evil people like her putting me down and hurting my feelings!!!!!! Sorry, I thought this was going to be my Salon after patronizing them for nearly a year...I called and spoke with Lyn on Jan 29th to schedule the 3 appointments for Feb 4th, 2 pedi's and 1 manicure, well in advance. Only the pedicure's got done while my manicure scheduled time was swept under the rug. Huy was in process of (hopefully finishing) a Client, I did not interrupt so he could concentrate. I sat there patiently 45 minutes while my friends were taken care of. I was never offered any form of explanation on why they did not keep my appointed time or to why they may be running late. Lyn never apologized while Rose and Huy did. Very disappointed, I had posted this on their FB page but Huy decided to personally attack and also posted a GF's name who had nothing to do with this appointment, wasn't even there...? I wanted to try out a new place with my mom to treat her, and honestly I don't know the guys name that did my nails yesterday, but I have never felt so rushed in my life getting a full gel set. Definitely won't be going back there. My nails already feel as if they're lifting. And I've had acrylics almost my whole life..this has never happened. Never mind the fact he left my service at least 4 times to text someone or talk on the phone to whoever it was. Poorest service I've experienced, I have to say. Best salon to get your nails done. Lyn always does an amazing job on my nails and provides the best customer service I have ever had period. Everyone there is so kind and great at what they do. There have been so many incidences where I have broken nail off, chipped off polish, or even dinged my fresh nail polish as I placed my hands into the UV light curer and without hesitation it is fixed right away or I am fit in last minute for a fix. I drive 30 minutes, much longer if there is traffic, to get my nails done here. The quality of service is one of a kind. Every single day I am complimented on my nails. From work to the store to social media. The compliments never stop. The quality of work Is so good, that just yesterday I received compliments on my nails and they were four weeks grown in, no chips in my polish and no lifting on my acrylics. The pricing here is definitely fair and affordable unlike many places that overcharge. I am very very picky about my nails. I have gone to enlist salons in search of someone who literally provides me with the perfect shape, perfect nail, the perfect thickness, variety of color, etc. I found all of that here. Excellent customer service. Welcoming and very clean. They do not speak to each other in foreign language while your sitting there which is done at every other salon and I find very very rude. I visited TK Nails last evening for the first time. My nail salon was closing and couldn't do my fill in. I happened to see TK down the street with an open sign. Even though they closed at 7, and it was now around 7:30 they still took me. My nails came out amazing, I was very impressed! She took her time and did a great job.
