I saw the Dr within 5 minutes of the scheduled time. He was more thorough than previous skin specialists that I have seen.

Very deceptive billing practices. I was on a payment plan which they were auto debiting every month. The app showed ZERO dollar balance due and they stopped auto debiting only to find out they send me to collections for about $300. What a scam! Do not recommend! Will not be returning. read more

Gabriel J. Martinez-Diaz, MD, FAAAAT. HORRIBLE!!! My visit with this dermatologist was one of the most unpleasant medical experiences I've ever had. He has no bedside manner whatsoever--rude, dismissive, and condescending from the moment he walked in. He barely listened to my concerns, talked down to me, and made me feel like I was wasting his time. When I tried to explain the ongoing skin issues I was having, he didn't bother to examine the areas I pointed out. Instead, he brushed it off, said it was "just acne," and handed me a couple of sample products as if that would solve everything. I left the appointment feeling completely unheard and disrespected. It's been over a year since that visit, and there was no improvement from his so-called "treatment." I sought out another dermatologist afterward, who actually listened, ran tests, and provided a real diagnosis--something this doctor never even attempted. If you're looking for a doctor who cares about their patients, look elsewhere. This one seems more interested in rushing people out the door than offering any real help. read more

I have been going to this location for close to two years . And always satisfied with the medical staff . Recently I have received a collection notice for a small amount the insurance didn't pay . Never received a bill from the medical coders at the front desk . But somehow they can send my address to collections ? No bill , no phone call and straight to collections. I wish I saw their 2.5 star review before coming here. They identified a tiny suspicious spot on my leg. They have biopsied twice and failed to get clean margins twice. The second time, the provider didn't seem to know what margins were missed and I didn't feel heard. On the second visit, my bill was double what it was for the first (same) procedure. One of the times I called (after not receiving a call back for over 2 weeks and explaining that to the receptionist) she told someone "she just had to get rid of this angry client" when I assume she thought I was on hold? I was respectful each time I called and I was repeatedly told someone would call me and they didn't. I called 5 times and emailed twice to finally have the practice manager get back to me and tell me there was nothing they could do about my bill--that the different providers can put in different charges and they aren't obligated to give an estimate. But they expect me to come back for a THIRD attempt at excision? I canceled my future appointments, I have a big ugly scar on my leg that I will just hope doesn't turn into cancer, and I feel like I have no choice than to share my terrible experience on social media. Find a different dermatologist that actually cares. read more

Good dermatologists are a rare find. Let's consider APN Laurel Poole. She attempted to treat a rash that covered 90 percent of my body with a topographical medication in the steroid family. Attempting to cure a rash that is in all the nooks and crannies of the human body is in tune with moving Lake Michigan with a bucket and pail. After a month of using Triamcinolone Acetonide I did my own research. I found a medication, Dupixent, that is taken by injection. After the initial dosage, voila, rash was history. Was it expensive? Yes. How much? $110 per inoculation. When the rash is gone, no more inoculations are necessary. read more

(Joliet office) Staff is impatient, rude & weren't very informative about treatment. I felt rushed and like a bother to them. When the nurse left the room at one of my past appointments, I heard her make an inappropriate comment toward me to another staff member. Every time I go there, I leave in the worst mood. Laurel Poole from Pinnacle Dermatology Frankfort Office did a rushed stitch job on my leg. She did not do individual stitches on the top layer of my incision, which was very unprofessional and my leg got infected because of her rushed stitch job. On Friday July 19, 2019 at 7:00am Laurel Poole from Pinnacle Dermatology in Frankfort IL preformed surgery on my left thigh by cutting a football shape out of my left thigh down to the fatty tissue to remove all abnormal cells. At the time I had total peace and confidence about Laurel Poole during my surgery because of the good reviews that I had read about her online and because of her staff reassurance. My experience with Pinnacle Dermatology was horrible, being on four different antibiotics, having extreme pain and anxiety from my infected leg due to Laurel Poole rush stitch job and having to go to the doctor every week for a wound check, sometimes twice a week for two months to make sure that my wound was healing. Our time is so very precious and I can't get back the time that I lost during my experience with Pinnacle Dermatology. read more

Love Laurel Poole, she is so friendly and kind, but I cannot get ahold of anyone from the front office to receive my test results. I missed their call and have since called back 13 times and left 3 voice mails over the course of a week with no reply or call back. I don't know if my results were negative or abnormal or anything, so I am kind of left hanging. I feel they are putting too much emphasis on getting as many people in and out of their office and not focusing on patient care and customer service. Really disappointed. I saw Laurel Poole for my visit. She spent 5-8 minutes with me for a skin check and provided recommendations on a separate condition I did not consent for her to evaluate or treat. She then proceeded to not listen to me tell her that I was only there to see her for a skin check. My insurance was then billed for services that I did not consent to and am currently responsible for. She did not address the questions I had related to a spot that I wanted her to check for my annual skin check. I will not revisit this provider due to the nature of why I came in for the appointment, the disregard for my concerns, for the advice on something I did not consent to, the unwillingness for the office to listen to my concerns, and because of the fraudulent documentation stating that she educated and counseled me on things that were not discussed during our short interaction. Warning for anyone considering this business. Go elsewhere unless you want to be responsible for payment for services never consented to or rendered. read more

My Dermatologist (Dr. Tobin), who I loved and respected, Retired this year to Arizona. I was tasked with choosing a new MD to have my bi-yearly derm exams. After researching the field, I chose Dr. Troiani, from Pinnacle Dermatology at the Frankfort Office. I got so lucky! From the moment I walked into the office, I was greeted with warmth, efficiency, and a happy atmosphere from the staff, reception, nurses, and, not the least of all, Dr. Troiani . He made me feel very comfortable in what can be (and often is) an uncomfortable situation. He was incredibly gentle and caring and yet thorough throughout my exam, while remaining completely professional. Dr. Troiani is deeply knowledgeable; he patiently answered all my questions, and, more importantly, made me feel it was perfectly OK to ask away. I appreciate that he spoke to me as one adult to another, openly and honestly. As it turns out, I will need to be seeing him again. But he went out of his way to reassure me and explain what my next visit would entail, and my prognosis.. As a result, I feel very safe in his hands. And glad I found him! read more

Was last here for skin check in March - had some spots removed. No issues with visit in March, but now have been trying to reach them for the last 4 days and have not been able to get through or get a call back in all this time. Have left messages with no response so cannot recommend this doctor/office. If you do have an issue or need to speak with someone, you're out of luck. They are no longer my dermatologist and I will be looking elsewhere to someone who is easier to reach. read more

My children & I have gone to Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Associates for a couple years now & I recently had some skin cancer removed from my chest. Dr. Lapinski & Dr. Rios were wonderful! They were very informative with all the information & explained the procedure accurately and made sure I was in agreement with what was going to happen. I was impressed with their compassion and concern towards me as their patient and their positive upbeat personalities. Their staff were also very friendly, had great communication skills as well and made me feel comfortable. The surgery was painless and went very smoothly and they even went out of their way to schedule my next appointment around my vacation. I would highly recommend them to family & friends and look forward to seeing them again. I definitely feel that I am in the best of hands with Dr. Lapiniski & Dr. Rios & staff! read more

STAY AWAY! They are a SCAM! The people are so unfriendly, and coincidentally every single time I visited their computers were "down." They quoted my insurance saying a visit for mole removal would be max $200.... next thing I know I have an $1,800 bill and a terrible scar on my back because they "couldn't get a big enough skin sample" and need me to come back for SURGERY!!!!! They also lied and told me nothing was wrong with my skin sample, when in fact it WAS a suspicious sample! They also do not return phone calls--it's June and I've been trying to talk to someone about this since March. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away. read more

Possible Skin Cancer? Mole Removal, Very Expensive. Get an Estimate First!! Beware of what you may end up paying. I was concerned about skin cancer and I had 3 moles removed. If you have a high deductible health plan, ask for a quote. Between all services supposedly rendered, my insurance was billed approximately $ 1,800 and I had to pay approximately $ 1,200.00. They do demand payment at time of service so make sure you are prepared. The topper is that I was seen by a Physicians Assistant, not a Doctor, which one would think should be less expensive. I went into the Frankfort office around Labor Day to have two to three moles removed. Upon arrival, I found that the front desk was very pleasant and efficient. I was taken into a room within 5 minutes of my appointment time. I found the nurse to be condescending and rather rude, in addition to the fact that she was wrong in what she said, which did not have anything to do with my visit. She lacked professionalism. The Physicians Assistant, Laura Poole, was very efficient. She was in my room for a total of 17 minutes in which she notated the various moles on my body and proceeded to remove three of them. The method she used is called shaving. which essentially skims the surface with a sharp scalpel after numbing the area. I had a mole removed from the crease in my nose and she did not remove it in its entirety. I still have a medium colored brown spot on my face about the size of the felt tip marker spot. It also took over two months for the other two surgery areas to heal. Overall, I would recommend finding a dermatologist office that is not so large because the obviously know how to play the "insurance game" to maximize their payout, sometimes to the detriment of their patients. read more

I have gone to Rios & Lapinski for years and this last Friday 10/22 I received a text reminder of my appt Monday 10/25 at 5 pm.  During the afternoon of 10/25 i receive a text notice saying i missed my appt. I called the office and talk to a Taylor that the phones go to. She was not helpful. I asked her about the text that i received and she said i missed my appt and would not let me get a word in. Just kept saying i missed my appt today.  I finally had to talk louder since she was not letting me say anything then she said i was yelling at her. Well if she would have listened to why I was calling I would not have to raise my voice.  I asked for the Frankfort office since that is where my appt was to be at, while she was transferring me i guess she thought the phone was already transferred and she said JESUS.  How unprofessional could someone that has a job and works with the public.  I guess you show your true side when you think nobody is listening.  I was able to finally get in touch with Frankfort and they offered me an appt about 1 1/2 hr later than my original appt at 5 pm. I turned it down since the 5 pm was to be on my way home from work and later would not work. I am very disappointed with Rios & Lapinski / Pinnacle Dermatology. read more

I am a freak when it comes to my skin. One pimple and my life is over! Whenever I have an emergency and need to get in, Laurel always takes care of me. Giant pimple is gone by the next day. I never have to wait, and she will help you with any skin problems you may have. I have been going here for a few years now, and the best is when I have a big event or wedding to attend, she helps prevent my skin from any flare ups. I love Pinnacle Dermatology, especially Laurel! I never struggled with acne during my high school or college years; however, about a year ago, I started having cystic breakouts, and no products seemed to help. This past spring, I paid Laurel a visit and cannot express how grateful I am to her. She spent ample time evaluating my acne, explaining the causes/stressors behind it and created a full treatment plan for me. She followed up extensively to ask how the products were working. My acne cleared up within a month of following her regimen. They used to be very good. Dr. Lipiniski no longer works out of the Frankfort office so you get whomever is available. The staff is nice (when you can finally talk to someone) yet overwhelmed and overworked. Takes forever on the phone to stay on hold to get an appointment (even for a regular patient) and there is no online appointment service. Then even if you have a serious issue, it may take weeks or months to get an appointment. Volume and market share seems to be a higher priority these days than customer care. It's unfortunate that the service has changed so much. read more

I would never recommend this place at least not Dr. Blake Troiani he was very rude & unprofessional . He recommended a procedure on the spot which involved a stitch or two on my scalp when said i wanted to think about it he replied "whats there to think about" he was very pushy & was the most uncomfortable $118 doctor visit i ever had. read more
