So I went here to bowl but never got a chance because the wait was too long. That is not the reason for the 3 stars. We decided to eat at the restaurant instead and the wait there was about 30 minutes. I'll go ahead and lead by saying the food was really good. The service, however was awful. I think they may be short staffed but the bartender was trying to make drinks, take orders, and bring out food and it wasn't working. I watched my food sit in the window for about 15 minutes getting cold. Once they got it to me hot, it was good. While we were waiting on the table, we played games and had a blast. This is definitely a good spot to go with a group of friends because there is plenty to do. I just hope they improve their customer service. I did notice afterwards, that they allow online reservations for bowling. Will definitely do that next time. read more

The service at Pinstack on Canyon Ridge is absolute trash. I walked up to the bar, said hello, the server that was behind the bar made eye contact with me, then walked away from the bar area. My daughter wanted to play games, my husband had just re-upped her game card so we stayed. We got hungry, went to the hostess counter to be seated, no one was there, but 2 or 3 employees looked at us and kept doing what they were doing. No one addresses us. This was a Monday around 3:30...plenty of individuals dressed in Pinstack uniforms walking around. Additional note: I took a seat by door, across from the hostess booth to write this review. A white couple entered and walked to the hostess counter, no one was there, but an employee appeared out of thin air, almost immediately. I wanted to review the restaurant called King Pin but that didn't come up in my search. The restaurant within Pinstack is delicious! We had the Honey Bee pizza and it was really good. The main reason for the low rating: they charge by time, not games. I've never been to a bowling alley that does this. I asked if I could pay for two games, and was told I had to buy in half-hour increments. I was told that because they were busy, I couldn't add time at the end. I guessed two games would take an hour, but after an hour we still had two frames left in the second game. The game immediately shut off, and we had to leave. Beyond that, the place is fairly mundane. The lanes are small, and you share a booth and ball rack with another lane, which is also unusual. The machines are simple, with no graphics. We came on a Tuesday so it was pretty quiet, whoever was playing the music had great taste. The best part was definitely the interaction with the bartender (Hunter). I think that Pinstack is a really good place to play bowling in Austin, The ambience is great, considering that the whole place is filled with lights, making it seem Neon and Electric, which helps the vibe. The service is fast and easy, because last time I went, I ordered a large lemonade, and I drunk it all, and there was free refills, so that was great. The lemonade itself was the best I've had. The Meat-Lovers Pizza was easy to eat and great, because it tasted good and had some bacon and pepperoni I think I remember. Came here I think 2 days after they first opened in here in Austin, and they were still putting up things, fixing electrical etc etc. We were one of the first people through the door for a rare afternoon day date. It was super clean being opened only 2 days so 5 stars for cleanliness. We got seated quickly and were treated great by our server. I will say the food was pretty good, the fried mac and cheese balls were the favorites for us. The fried pickles were good but kinda soggy not enough crunch to it. We got the big appetizer platter and it gave us a good idea of what the food was like and it was worth it. We stayed played some games, very similar to a dave and busters but nicer. Game room is a little smaller but it has bumper cars, laser tag, a rock wall, some stuff hanging over everything so it was really neat to go see and hang out for an afternoon. Pinstack Austin is a big new entertainment venues with bowling and arcade games. I went for a trivia night which is hosted in their great enclosed patio area (that can be opened for hot days). They have a good setup and it is a fun place. The food, however wasn't the best. The brisket nachos were really good and I liked the queso. We were having a great time. The games are mediocre but yet enjoyable- at least for a kid but that's not my complain. My complaint is the service in this place. This place is extremely unorganized. We ordered but it will usually take at least 30 mins max to receive our food. When we got our food items were missing . We kept asking for the missing items and we did not receive anything. Monday evening service 9/23/24. You'd figure it would be a great experience given there was nobody else seated in the entire dinning/bar area when we got seated. The first round of cheese sticks came out cold and soft, but was fixed without issue. Kids Mac n'cheese was literally soupy but the kid muscled it down powered by excitement of games. Wife's brisket Grilled cheese was soft and sad looking, then had to request her side soup that didn't come out with spoon, then was given a long skinny teaspoon lol. Finally my chicken sandwich was meh, thin over cooked chicken breast with thick bread was tuff but glad I ordered extra mayo or else wouldn't have gone down. Came here via recommendation, we usually go to Dave n Busters or Punchbowl It looks a little impressive, a little more adulty, but it lacked a lot. Our fiesta platter of tacos, nachos were cold, brisket was ground beef and it was just not tasty at all. And cold, again. No one was dining except one table. Short staffed, i know. But, three cooks and cold food... The server was the event manager i overheard. She was fantastic, fast, friendly and courteous. I give her 5 stars The main reason for this review is that NO one was cleaning the machines and games the entire time. Not a soul. The restroom was filthy as well! Add more duties to staff on the floor and pay them a little more to maintain cleanliness if you cant find a "cleaning attendant" Update to the response from the manager - shortly after our visit here, my wife and I BOTH got sick. My family and I have come here twice now. Initially we went to eat first in the restaurant but an employee let us know that we can bowl and eat at the same time given that servers are available at the lanes. We paid for shoe rentals and to bowl for an hour (during peak times so it was more expensive than normal). The food was pretty good. Definitely better than food I've had at the typical bowling alley. My son got the pepperoni pizza which had a light and airy crust with just the right amount of crisp. My daughter got the kid's grilled cheese and she did not enjoy it. I think the cheese was a little too mild for her taste. My husband got the Angus beef sliders and thought they were fine. They were juicy and tasted good. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and it was excellent. The chicken was perfectly prepared and the sandwich had a spicy kick. The coleslaw and pickles really round out the sandwich nicely. The sandwich came with garlic parmesan fries which were mediocre. They didn't have enough garlic or parmesan on them. My husband got the key lime pie which was average. Not worth ordering if you really like Key Lime Pie. For drinks- I got the perfect cosmopolitan that was FAR from perfect. It was not mixed well and the proportions seemed off. I did get the Irish martini and that was MUCH better and quite tasty. I will stick to this drink for next time. My kids loved the games. My son enjoyed the laser tag and my daughter loved the bumper cars. They have similar games to a Dave & Buster's with a few more options for Virtual reality games. They even have a sanitary mask to put under their VR goggles for their games. I thought it was a nice touch. Parking was plentiful which I greatly appreciated. Checked out the place today Around happy hour. My bartender Jacob was awesome! Friendly and attentive I ordered Parmesan fries, and Karab Salad (I think I pronounced that right) and a Kentucky Tea, which to my surprise was very tasty and refreshing. The bar/dining area was super spacious with plenty of bar stools accross the bar, tables covering mid area and booths going down the left. I will return to experience the fun side of the place. So far bar/dining area is awesome and can see myself coming over during lunch for a delicious bite and tasty drinks. PS. I hear Mondays 1/2 off appetizers. read more

Went for an adult date night last weekend and had a blast! However, I personally felt like improvements could be made. First let me say, I do not need a lot to be impressed. Generally speaking, if you're looking for a spot to bowl, arcade, bumper car, Eat/Drink and ropes course all in one, then Pinstack should be added to the list. Bowling: It was advertised that the VIP section is 21+ only after 8pm. Went at 9:30pm and children (under 12) were everywhere. I'm just saying, don't advertise the option if it's not really an option or won't be enforced ya know? Personally, I was a little irritated but whatever, I came to bowl. I would have thought there would have been hand sanitizing stations near the balls or stations but there weren't. They gave the option to control the settings by downloading an app but I don't have time for all that. Nice touch though. Bowl screen seemed to have a few glitches as well but not enough to impact game play - just food ordering. Maybe the food and drinks will ease my irritation? Food: Nahhh. Had the Pinstack burger with cheese and it was less than stellar. Actually looked a little sad. Mozzarella sticks were ok but nothing to keep me coming back. Also went in on their crispy fried chicken tenders which were over tough to chew. Buffalo sauce had potential but if I can't successfully bite into my chicken, the sauce isn't going to do much for my hunger. Drinks were decent but not hardly enough to give you a buzz or keep you with one. Service: We had an AMAZING waitress/waiter but there is no way in hell X gets paid enough. All the chaos X had to endure with the adults AND children in the 21+ space made me tired just looking at X. The section was severely understaffed but X tried their hardest to push through and get to us in a timely manner. Unfortunately we still had to track X down to get our order in as the button on the bowl screen didn't work or X was so busy they never saw it - Who knows. Nonetheless despite all the hoops and longer than expected wait times we experienced, X killed their service skills. I imagine if I would have visibly seen other PinStack employees working as hard as X, my overall rating would be diff. Ropes course / arcade: Ropes course and arcade were both a blast. Arcade had a great selection of games and seemed to cater to all ages in a wide range - which I appreciated. The arcade had way more hand sanitizing stations than the VIP bowling area so I wasn't forced to use my WHOLE sanitizer bottle during my visit. The ropes course is not for the weak, fearful or phat. A bitch was scared and it's not even that high lmao I'm thick so first off, kudos for the weight capacity to be more than I could have imagined and holding me up because the way I was screaming, you would have thought I was falling to my death the zip line was my favorite part but if you're just wanting to test your fears or do something different, in general - I would HIGHLY recommend you give it a shot. read more

We had our son's 10th birthday party at Pinstack yesterday and I cannot NOT recommend this place enough. The party room was small and stuffy. The party host and servers were inattentive and downright rude at times, left us hanging multiple times. They were very very disorganized...food wasn't ready when we got there, we asked for some water and were told NO bc they were too booked. Finally our host brought us water in two plastic cups to share I guess? We were left in our party room with 10 kids that were done with cake and pizza for almost 20 minutes and just wanted to play games but the host with the game cards was NOWHERE to be found. My favorite moment was when I was trying to find napkins for our party and peaked my head into an unmarked area attached to our party room that I guess I wasn't supposed to go in (thought there was NO SIGNAGE as to that fact) bc I couldn't find anyone to help us. A server in this area threw me out of the area and gave me some very harsh words. Then she came back with the napkins and let me have it again! Very very unnecessary. Our whole event and mood was kinda spoiled when we arrived and realized we paid the price of a VIP room but did not received a VIP lane. DO NOT BOOK ONLINE!!! They charge you DOUBLE for booking online and prepaying. The girl at the desk told us if we would have called to make the reservation the price would've been the same as walking in the door. This place is nothing more than Main event you might as well just go there. Very poor experience and we will not be going back. I am very disappointed in the lack of Covid-19 procedures followed by this place. Our family came to bowl for my parents 38 yr anniversary. The sign on each lane specifically says leave all balls and shoes on the lane when finished. Team members DISINFECT BALLS AND SHOES AFTER EVERY GAME. Once we left our lane, no ball was disinfected by anyone and the lane wasn't wiped. We then approached supervisor Caitlin about it. She proceeded to look at the sign as if she didn't know that was the policy and said "okay I get what you're saying" and proceeded to not disinfect anything afterwards. If this is the lack on the lanes I can only dread what is not being done to properly disinfect games. I am more so disappointed in the lack of effort by the supervisor to even try to amend the situation or show any concern. read more

We ordered our drinks and second round of shots. It took forever. We finished our food and our waters ( only 3 for 6 people) before the drinks came out! Reason why this is 1 star. First round of tequila shots were one shade of brown. The second round was definitely NOT the same. It wasnt even clear, it was WATERED DOWN brown! I am a student at Small Middle School and we went there for a band trip today. The games were fun but the service was pretty slow. I bought an gelato and waited for 10 minutes for the person to come back with my change. I ordered a large and they gave me the same size and amount as a regular but didn't listen when I asked for a large. I asked twice if she could give me a large and the worker just ignored me, so I decided to leave. When I was eating the gelato with some of my friends we heard a noise and it turned out an earring fell into the gelato from the ceiling. It wasn't any of my friends because we checked everyone's ears. I'm pretty upset because I lost money and I wasn't able to finish the gelato because of the earring. I found out that Pinstack was providing curbside food orders, They do have a limited menu, but one to please the taste buds!!
