I know that sounds standard but so many times it's not. The service as I arrived was extremely pleasant especially the sweet women helping me pick up my order. The chips and salsa could have bought at the convenience store across the street as there was no creativity for $6. The pretzel and pizzas were top notch. Their crust sets them apart from other 'za joints and they craft brews are right up their with any of the big guys (if you know, you know!). During Covid quarantine, I have been taking advantage of their online beer release ordering and curbside pickup. Yay! Really hope this "new" process doesn't change. This is hands down best pizza place in Austin. Their electric jellyfish IPA is my favorite IPA. The crust is perfect.

We ordered the Cannonball Pizza and it was pretty good. There's plenty of indoor sitting and they serve beer and wine. I had a glass of rosé with my pizza and the environment is chill and laid back so it's a good spot to grab a drink and pizza. The pizza came out pretty quickly. Pinthouse makes good food, but I have to find another pizza provider, because the kitchen has an ongoing problem with delivery orders. It never seems to check the customization details requested. Most recently I asked to remove all the bell pepper, and instead, they loaded it up. (Some of us prefer green peppers raw.) I hope the experience is better for dine-in customers. read more

We got some orders of soft pretzels, one custom pizza for the no-cheese person in our group and a half Hawaiian/half pepperoni basil for the rest of us. The food was the highlight of my evening. The crust is super crispy and the pretzel was soft, fresh and delicious. My group of 3 and I ubered here to watch the UT game, which they had on all of there screens. It was VERY crowded which is unavoidable and not really the restaurant's fault, but it got a little cramped and awkward with people waiting to to take tables and the only access to ordering at the bar being between two hightops. I would definitely recommend doing the online order at the table, but I did notice that my friend who ordered in person got groped much quicker than my friend ordering online, despite ordering after her. Not only are the pizzas here at PHP unique, the flavors somehow just work amazingly well. For example, my friend convinced me to try the honey pear pizza (I was suspicious but got it anyways), the tanginess of the pear with the sweetness of the honey and caramelized onion, with the saltiness of the prosciutto made it one of my all time favorites! Of course, they have "regular" pizzas as well, which were also quite delicious. PHP is also a brewery. I read online that the lines usually get pretty long, but I guess I was lucky that I visited on a rainy day on Saturday. We waited around 20 minutes to get seating indoors - but it was well worth the wait. Even though the mask mandate is lifted, they still have covid safety protocols. They explain getting the food, where one person per group goes order the food as they don't want too many people crowded around. It is also required to wear a mask when standing up/ walking around. The seats between each group are well spaced. Based on what I saw, it seems like they got an efficient to-go/take-out system - so that is always an option if the lines are too long. Now onto the food! For a group of 3 - ordering three medium pizzas was a lot to consume in one sitting. No regrets because this is one of the best pizza places I've ever eaten + with their beer! such a good meal :) Special shoutout to the honey pear pizza! But when I'm not at their physical location, I often order an Electric Jellyfish beer, an excellent IPA beer. If you didn't know, both of these locations also brew their own beer and have a seasonal and new recipient rotation that is quite large. What more could you ask for than excellent pizza and freshly brewed beer? In addition, if you like home cooked pizza, you can but a kit of dough, sauce, and toppings and impress the family with your pizza craftsmanship! Needless to say, when I go to PHP with my friends I need to Uber home :). PHP is an excellent place for pizza, beer, and friendship. We came on a Friday night and snuck into the middle of a table, but larger groups waited quite a while to find somewhere to sit. Additionally, parking was nearly impossible. We parked at the vet across the street. The menu has a ton of options. While I was *that* person trying to be healthy and get a salad, I wasn't disappointed at all. It was delicious. The crust was perfect, the toppings plentiful, and, the one slice i took for later that night was STILL great even after 30 seconds in the microwave. Nice variety of beers, definitely enjoyed the selections, though I got a little excited only to find out that I read too far down on the menu and my desired brew was at another location. The shroomin goat is the best thing ever! Seriously one of the most stand out pizza flavors I've had. The restaurant itself is more like a large dining hall where you pick your own seats and order food and drinks at the counter. It gets very lively and fun and can easily bring a big group (but you might have to wait for seats to open up). Came for dinner to celebrate Father's Day. Ordered a Caesar salad a a half ooh la la half the works. Caesar was incredible, like other worldly. The pizza was terrible, honestly can't say if it's terrible fresh out of the oven, because we fell victim to a loop hole in the system. After about 30 mins of waiting we realized the person who delivered the Caesar took the buzzer/number, which we connected the dots to mean our pizza might've been lost. We never heard the order name be called though and we sat right next to the register. So we asked, and they gave us a congealed pizza stuffed in a box sitting in the to-go heater. I asked the girl who found it for us whether she thinks it looks cold (because it was obviously cold and I wanted to call out something was wrong) and she said 'It's fine' and walked away. This is not the experience you want eating pizza in-house. We ended up just finishing our beers and taking my half of the pizza home to reheat in the oven. The Father we were celebrating went ahead and ate his cold there since 1) his half had arugula which isn't oven-friendly and 2) he is low-maintenance :) Just stick with home slice take out in the future like we obviously will have to. read more
