Amazing service! The staff are so friendly, They have an outdoor area for the kids, and the pizza has to be the BEST in Austin!

We've enjoyed Bambino several times before shows at Ground Floor and ESPA. It gets pretty crowded at dinner time on Saturday's but we've always gotten seated quickly. All the food is very good. On our last visit, we had Little Stinker, a delicious mushroom pizza with kale and several cheeses. We also had the beet salad. It was all very good and a lot of food. We brought a couple of slices home. The service was very good. Our waiter was really busy, serving tables inside and outside. He was always attentive and friendly. We also had food brought out by other staff so we were never waiting long. All in all, a very good pizza place. It will be our go-to dinner before shows in the area. read more

A stereotypical "millenial" pizza joint, Bambino's is somewhere in between a New York slice and your everyday one. To begin, parking around here can be very difficult if you don't know where to look as there are multiple lots to choose from, although the seemingly nearest is always taken up by cars. There was no wait on a Saturday afternoon. Once you're in, Bambino's is a calm and friendly environment to grab a bite at, featuring simple (and different) slices and sandwiches. You feel pretty welcome and at home in a nice layout with many tables and a bar top right across. The menu is diverse but one thing that sticks out right off the bat is the price. $4.50 for a plain slice? $22 for a footlong sub? Not to mention they tack on an automatic 20% service charge to every bill, which to their credit was mentioned about 3-4 times by the waitress. By the end of eating a $5 pepperoni slice we somehow paid nearly $7. Was it worth it? No. The pizza is decent, nowhere near worth the cost though. The dough is a bit too doughy and the cheese and sauce are alright. The slice is bigger than an average one so we can appreciate that. The best part was the pepperoni mixing in some nice little zip into the mix. For what it's worth, Bambino's is not bad, by any means of that word. However, for what they charge out of a slice in Austin, Texas of all places, you'd expect it to pack a lot more of a punch. We came to Bambino after climbing next door at ABP. It was convenient to sit outside here with a large group. While the pizza was good, and the atmosphere was alright, the service left us somewhat perturbed. We got the Uncle Frankie and the Tracksuit pizzas. These pizzas were a whopping $30 each (after mandatory fee). We liked them, and two people who were not too hungry could share one. My friend was searching for a pizza option with chicken as she cannot eat red meat, and she was unable to find one. They also have an automatic 20% gratuity that is not included in the prices. It looks like the business owner is very defensive about this, so I don't want to engage, but it is very strange. The server came to our table, took our orders, then he came back for our cards. We thought he was making us open a tab, even though we didn't get any drinks, but turns out that was actually the payment. Before this, I had never been charged before receiving my food at a sit-down restaurant where they come to you to take your order. We were quite baffled by this as it's something you would see in movies or in the news where servers do that to discriminate again others because they think they may leave without paying. I met a couple of friends here for a quick bite before an event here this week. I had the beets item, which was nice but I did think for $12 plus tax and tip it would be bigger. I had never had fried olives before so that was a new treat! My friends ordered pizza which looked yummy. The paying process was a bit confusing because even though you pay upfront it's like a bar situation so it wasn't clear you had to close out once you ordered if you weren't planning to order more. And then of course there is an expectation to tip so it's more important to close out. It was conveniently located for my two friends who were going to an event nearby and for me to join before another event I went to further away. The inside was open and easy to walk around around with a pick your own table process. Parking was a bit challenging as the lot nearby was full so I parked near the end of the complex area and walked over which wasn't too far. read more

Love this place, been here more times than I can count. The slices are always crispy, fresh, and delicious. This time the slice came and it was soggy. I let a server know and they sent a fresh one out that was as good as I've always known them to be. Shoutout my boy Dylan, he handled it and made sure I left happy. Sending food back is something that is hard to do, but he saw the slices and knew they weren't up to par. I have been here a couple of times after climbing. The pizza is consistently good: quality ingredients, well balanced sauces, great dough. Both times I was at the bar. The restaurant was not too crowded and had options for indoors and outdoors seating. You can just sit wherever and very friendly staff will come and find you. The 20% gratuity is automatically applied to all checks. Crazy good gluten free crust!! They make the sir own crust instead of using a cauliflower crust and it's amazing! We got the tracksuit pizza and it was great - Hot honey - pepp - ricotta! I also ordered the frozen blood orange Negroni and it was delicious. The happy hour is from 4-6 and 25% off pizzas! For 2 drinks, 2 apps, and one gf pizza, and 20% tip, the total came out to $90. We also tried the beet and Cesar salad - both incredible! I love beets and it was a perfect starter and you can't go wrong with a Cesar salad. Cute pizza place! We got the Mi Scuzi, which had scamorza cheese that was really tasty and unique. The dough is excellent, really chewy but thin. It was happy hour so it was I think 10% off. Our only complaint was that because we were sitting outside it seemed like the staff struggled a bit to bring us water and condiments. We've been meaning to do so for months - my boyfriend goes to ABP and always raved about how good Bambino smelled, since they're right next door. We ordered the Frankie pizza and the cheesy garlic bread, both to-go. Both were tasty, although the pizza was pretty burnt on one half of it. Nevertheless, the taste was good. Love Bambino!! My husband and I went to Stargazer for a comedy show and ordered a pizza at Bambino. We ordered the Frankie pizza with ranch and it was delicious! I loved all of the pepper, onion and sausage flavors. The crust is nice and cripsy, without being too bready. The ranch also had more of a cheesy, dill taste, which I loved. Came in for happy hour on a weekday. We sat at a two top inside- table was a standard two top size but the thing is you're serving pizza- big round pizzas that take up table space. Add in plates, water and cocktails and multiple pizzas- it was more than a little crowded. For drinks we did the frozen Negroni, the frozen margarita and the bambini tini. Frozen Negroni was great. Frozen margarita which had amaretto in it was okay, and the bambini was served over the rocks with a sweet Italian aperitif wine mixed in and just wasn't it for me especially for $14. For food we ordered the tracksuit and the pretty Gouda. For both pies- they are thin. Hella thin. Except for the crust- the crusts are thick and pillowy and soft and delicious. Crust is 10 out of ten. But for the rest of the pizza you're getting dough so thin you can almost see through it, a smattering of toppings and little to no sauce and cheese. Both pizzas were so dry, especially the Gouda (whichh was also covered in just raw, undressed arugula. A little acidic vinaigrette would go a long way). The Gouda pizza also came out burned to hell and had to be sent back- but I will acknowledge they replaced it with no fuss. However, we then had to sit and wait for the re-fire and by the time it came out we were done with drinks and pizza #1 and didn't want to even eat it. And for that trouble they did...nothing. No free dessert or comped drinks or anything. Which brings me to my biggest struggle with this place- their prices. Now we were here for happy hour- and their happy hour consists of 25% of pizza and wine and beer carafes/pitchers. In the east side Mecca of restaurants and happy hours, this just isn't it for me. Their personal sized pizzas cost the same as a whole ass pizza from another pizza place so the only way I would pay that amount of money is with a discount. But to not have any HH specials on appetizers (which are starting at $10 for...olives), glasses of wine or cocktails seems really stingy to me- and not competitive enough to keep up with the dozens of better HH deals in the surrounding areas. Charging $25 for a pizza with a couple dollops of ricotta and some pepperoni is wild to me. And you can give me the song and dance all you want about fresh ingredients blah blah blah but no. The markup here is wild and they don't even cut you a lot of slack with HH. It's just not a compelling HH. All cocktails are $12-14 save for one or two. This is not your casual pizza and drink place- you're not leaving here with less than $50 a person and nothing I tried today justifies that. And finally- they add a built in 20% gratuity. I will give them credit they are so transparent about it which is nice- but also, why? You're marking up all menu items a lot and you can't afford to pay your employees the way you're saying you want them to be paid and put that responsibility on the consumer? They literally commented on another review here saying their wage model ensures their employees don't make $2.63 and hour and can have health insurance- GREAT! But they're that- YOUR employees. Why should the end consumer carry the cost of the benefits you believe your employees should have on top of already elevated prices? I waitressed as my main livelihood for over 5 years and this still doesn't sit with me. You dont like how servers get paid? Then you as a business take care of it and leave tipping to what it is supposed to be- optional and based on performance and be confident your servers are hitting the mark and earning that. Sorry but it's a hill I will die on every time. So like I stated the review- the experience overall was fine. But add in really high prices for what you get, a non competitive happy hour, pizza that was mostly mid (thin, dry) and I just don't imagine myself frequenting here much at all. read more

One of best pizzas in the game, top tier pizza everything from ingredients to the crust, it is all hand made or it taste like it. Hands down, crispy and crunchy flaky airy crust, definitely taste like it's coming out of an Italian oven. Love the crispy edges on the crust, it has somewhat of a nutty taste. The cacio pepe is an amazing pie, white creamy sauce, the funky taste but with the lemon cutting thru it, I mean this pizza needs lemon and boyyyy it is incredible. Love the crispy onions on top. No flop! Uncle Frankie, you want meat? You got meat, add the crispy crust with the hint of tomato sauce, I love how the meats really sing in this pie, the sauce isn't overpowering the taste, it's a well balanced vegetable and meat thin pie. Little stinker, same beautiful crust but you can really taste the cheese and the mushrooms, love the high quality cheese taste, semi tart but sweet, creamy at the same time. Plus funky from the cheese. The mushrooms have a nice firm ness and overall unique pizza. I think everyone in Austin has had wing stop, the ranch is famous. I will say, this ranch from Bambino is better than wing stop. It has the best ranch seriously. I was craving an Italian style Neapolitan pizza in the early evening and opted to get it delivered since it was Sunday and just wanted to unwind at home. So I could see the potential in this pizza and regret I didn't get it fresh on site because it would've been better. I've ordered other Neapolitan style pizzas delivered at other places that made it home in better shape so i suppose it's timing too. I got the margherita pizza classic. The fresh mozzarella already hardened when it arrived which is a bummer. The crust was ok more New York style which I suspected since everyone seems to prefer this style but I wanted it to have some give and doughyness. I suspect it was better fresh and just cooked and hardened more when I got it. I probably could have used the air fryer but I didn't want to crisp up the crust any more. I did love the sauce this is where I see the potential so I suspect a red pie would be good here too. I also got the Shirley temple drink and it was great and I was expecting a sugar bomb but it was perfect not too sweet. This is one of the few spots in Austin that is able to replicate a more authentic Italian pizza. Well balanced sauce not too sweet, well baked pizza dough, my pet peeve is a burnt bottom (yes the bottom of the pizza is just as important as the top!) they baked their pizza just right, well done. Sure, toppings are important but if you can make a good dough that is talent for me, honestly they exceeded my expectations with the dough, bravo. I really liked this restaurant! I think the lower rating is harsh but maybe we had a different experience than other people. Ours: 1. The Tracksuit pizza was amazing. Bambino is such a great addition to our ATX food scene. We went in a Saturday night and everything was top notch. 1. Rainy night. Staff helped us wipe down the table and brought over a space heater to keep us warm. 2. Food. Fried olives were perfection - lightly breaded, perfect crunch leading into a savory bite. Parking- if busy- can be tight but street parking available. We celebrated a coworker's birthday on a Friday and didn't realize they charge a $3 per person fee for bringing dessert from the outside. My biggest complaint would be the mandatory 20% tip. I have no problem with restaurants doing this...if it's full service. Unfortunately it's not. You have to order at the counter, get your own drinks, refill your own drinks, but they bring you the food & close your tab out at the table. I wish that Yelp allowed half stars because then I would have given it 3.5 stars. I am a big fan of sandwiches and had been craving a sandwich. I keep "kosher style" so for me, a sandwich generally means a Turkey sandwich of some sort. I ordered through Uber eats for pick up. In the app they also had a "deal" on their garlic cheesy bread, so I figured I would give it a shot as well. The sandwich was $12+tax, not entirely unreasonable these days (heck, Jersey mikes or snarfs will cost at least that much with lesser quality ingredients and homeslice is a couple of dollars more) tbe garlic cheeses bread "on sale" was $8. The parking situation here is a real turn off. I lucked out and got one of the "reserved" parking spots for bambinos but there is very limited parking and the street parking isn't great either. I arrived about 10-15 minutes after I ordered. The staff was friendly and greeted me right away and directed me where to go to pick up my order. Good thing they did because I didn't notice any signage that would have directed me to where I needed to go. I was pretty hungry and I hate a soggy sandwich so, I decided to at least take the first couple of bites in my car. Ended up eating my whole meal in the car right there. It was a good sandwich. No real conplaints. Initially I thought it was a bit on the small side, but it was fairly filling. The flavors were great and it didn't get too soggy, though it was a little soggy. The bread definitely lost its crunch as I got towards the last few bites, but so it goes. I would go back for this sandwiches. You could tell the bread was fresh and the ingredients were good quality and it had great flavor. Would be great if there was some side options that would work with the sandwich. I would have liked something to accompany it. The garlic cheese bread was disappointing. Not sure it was worth the $8, and definitely wouldn't pay the regular price of $10. The bread just soaked up the oil or butter or whatever they were using so it was squishy and just oozing oil. Not sure if they used too much, or if it is a combination of the oil/butter and the oil from the cheese, but it just wasn't good. It had very little crisp to it the way a good garlic bread should. The flavor was fine I guess if you could get past practically drinking the oil from a sponge. I didn't get pizza here, but I did see the pizzas on various tables as I walked through, and I personally don't think I would ever come here for pizza (maybe at happy hour, maybe). For my money and taste, I still think homeslice is the best and you can get a larger pizza at homeslice for the same price they are charging here. I think, if I were near by, I would come back here for the sandwich again, assuming the price doesn't creep up, and the portion size and quality doesn't creep down, but I don't think I would dine in here (counter service with a mandatory built in gratuity. I get the reasoning behind it etc, but I have a problem with a mandatory gratuity somewhere that isn't even full service) and I really don't think I'd come for the pizza, definitely not at full price. For the owner: always been interested in trying the other spot, but since I don't eat pork or shellfish, I have found that menu to be very unaccommodating which is a shame for a place that holds passover Seders etc. hope you can do better on that, but since it's been pretty successful, I'm guessing that won't happen. Give the place a try for yourself, just be prepared for the terrible parking and the mandatory gratuity, and if your going for the pizza, I'd definitely recommend trying to get there during happy hour read more

The interior is so cute and every aspect of the restaurant matches the overall theme. Large patio for outdoor seating as well. Overall the food was a little underwhelming. The mozzarella sticks were good but the breading was a little thick and they could have been hotter. There was still a great cheese pull. Their special ranch is delicious! Peppery and just different enough to have an exciting taste without interrupting the flavor. The garlic cheesy bread was interesting! It's made with the same pizza crust.
