a pint of beer on the bar

It's always nice coming to Pints for a cold one after a busy morning. I do love the round bar, it gives a great feeling of community. Plenty of TVs to catch the games, regardless of what sport you want to watch. The pretzels are the size of a steering wheel and delicious. Great selection of beers. I'd probably stop in more for a Mimosa or French 75 if they had something other than Prosecco to make them with. Good Vibes

I'm of two minds about this place It's a great location because when I finish walking the dogs at Tumwater Falls, it's fun to stop by to get a nosh and a beer. It's also across the street from Western Meats so you can stop by there afterwards and pick up some steaks or meat pies for dinner. I also like the blue collar ambiance of the day drinkers here. They're definitely locals and they're a nice quiet group just hanging out. When summer rolls around, this place is a lot more fun. The hipsters come out and hang with their dogs in the patio, ordering cheese plates and charcuterie boards and mangoritas. I'm all about that and when the weather is warm, this is a really fun place to hang out. The thing I'm divided about is the food. Everything I've had is mediocre. The charcuterie board is heavy on salt, from the mustard to the sauerkraut so even though the parts are tasty, it also ends up all tasting the same. The sausages we had were also a little too spicy for my taste and the only one I liked had no spice. The cheese plate is nothing of note. I never remember the cheeses I've had here, and I like thinking about cheese. Still, I'm giving this place four stars because when summer comes around, it's a fun place to be. Turn on the string lights in the back when the place gets dark and it's quite lovely.

You have to stand in line at the bar for your drink. Ambiance was busy but everyone was nice. Extra love for the bartender who was half Pete Davidson and half Freddie Mercury. Specialty drinks were around $10. Not terribly strong. Overall, the bill for two gals in bad relationships was just under $50. The deep fryer was out but... did I mention the bartender?

I ended up calling (twice - nobody answered the first time) and got an order over the phone. I headed down there and the first thing I noticed is that the building needs work. There is a tin roof siding kind of thing along the entire front of the restaurant. It is old. Paint coming off. Not a good sign. Went into the bar as I didn't realize there was a separate bar and restaurant. I didn't see any signs showing that. I was directed by a bartender to go to the other side to get my order. A very nice blonde girl was there and went to bagging my order getting my chowder and everything else which took 5 to 6 minutes. It was over $64 with the tip. Got back to my hotel room to try my french dip. Problem is, they forgot the dip - no au jus. It is just warm roast beef in a bun. No flavor. Nothing to it. I couldn't even finish a half of it. The tater tots were bad. Half were soggy. No seasoning. No flavor. Not worth eating. The pickle was good, but wrapped in a napkin kind of thing that made my hands messy trying to unwrap it to eat it. Next up was the clam chowder. It was yellow, so I assumed it was a corn chowder. It is neither. It smells like a ham chowder and tastes like a vegetable/potato soup. It is very watery and had big pieces of celery and other veggies. I have no idea what this is supposed to be, but it is not a clam chowder. Finally, I got chipotle wings. They appear to have been a dry rub. I had hoped they either would come with a chipotle sauce to dip them in or they would be sauced wings. They were neither. Being a dry rub, they had a hint of chipotle flavor, but basically tasted like bare wings. My wife got a pasta bread thing of some kind. She had 4 bites and that was it. $64 fo about 10 total bites of food. I hate to waste that money and throw away so much food, but I'd be doing homeless people a disservice by giving it away. To recp, building is old looking. Forgot an important part of one of the dishes. Soggy, unseasoned tots. Watery, "clam" chowder that that is really a potato/veggie soup, wings with almost no flavor - may as well have just asked for bare, unseasoned wings. Wasted $64.

Yes it's back, this is a February 2026 review. See the menu. I love the veggie omelet with Hollandaise Sauce over the top, but the Eggs Benedict are a close 2nd for me. Come on live music nights and feel the positive Energy from Nicole to her staff to you. It's that special, hopefully you'll meet Nicole. Since, she works just as hard alongside her team. Last week's visit included my 80 yo Mother, Service Dog, and me after Dr appointment with need to eat. We ordered a club sandwich for sharing with sweet potato fries. They brought two plates, I don't know what I was thinking ordering Broccoli and Cheese Soup too. We each could eat a quarter sandwich with another meal before bedtime. A+ for consistent excellence in the kitchen and home brewed ice tea. But! The Star of The Show was the House Specialty Cocktail Menu! I'm a gin and tonic kind of guy, Beefeaters if you've got it. So, was intrigued by 'Isn't She Lovely' on the menu. Every Cocktail I've had here has been excellent. I also am not an amaretto fan. Today was no different with light fruity Cocktail that hits the tongue hard until softened by the egg white meringue on top melting the sting and leaving a nicely complimentary drink. Now, I'm a fancy gin Cocktail kinda guy. Imagine a fruity adult version of the old mall orange julius with egg and take it up a notch for Nicole's Bar. A+ for ingenuity and taste. One of my past experiences at Nicole's Bar was with a gentleman who didn't drink alcohol and wanted something different than a 0% Beer. The patient, kind, caring Bartender asked his likes and dislikes. Told him if he didn't like the result, they'd toss it and start over. He loved the 1st mocktail made, and felt like the group with his drink that we all wanted a sip to check out. So now, for him and the World Nicole's Bar now offers a Mocktail Menu and I bet you can still get a Bartender to get crazy and try something new. A+ for customer service at the highest level. A+ for service dog friendly staff. Brought the dog a paper cup of water. Nice place, period. Rating A+ for hidden gem of Olympia! If, LGBTQ bothers you than go to Dennys. Straight Friendly!

The drinks menu is a bit small (compared to other nearby bars). We got 5 drinks, one espresso one which wasn't great and the rest were alright. Nothing that made us go "Oh man, try that!" but they weren't bad either. The food, looks better than normal bar food, which I loved. We ordered "Balls of Gibralter" - North African meatballs, which were *SO GOOD*, so delicious EXCEPT the texture.
