I decided to go with the new hair color technique "balayage". Neshat knew exactly what she was doing and even had pictures to show me to see what styles I preferred. She used caramel and blonde tones throughout my hair and cut it afterwards. I'm thrilled with the result! The color is beautiful, I'm constantly getting complimented on it. She took off all the unhealthy dead ends but still left it nice and long like I requested. I will definitely be going back and want to keep up with the color for a while. It's very trendy but is also a very good everyday look! I found myself a new stylist! Couldn't be happier :)

I'll start by saying that Joanna obviously knows what she is doing and gives an excellent cut,…read moretechnically speaking. My work and schedule have changed and that meant that I needed to find a new stylist. I looked up reviews (she gets rave reviews) and then called and asked specifically if she worked well with curly hair (she said she was comfortable with curly hair) and let her know that my plan was to go from long, curly hair, to a long, curly pixie (short cut). Set the appointment. Got really excited! Arrived 20+ minutes early to have time to get a feel for things and make sure we had time to discuss the cut/plan. I barely had a consultation. Was in and out in less than an hour - super quick for such a major transformation. Ordered some curly cream to pick up the next day, and expressed some concerns about the sides still being really thick. Joanna said she would be available to fix any bits that bothered me. (Totally reasonable for there to be some things to adjust after playing with it - it was a big change.) When I called the next day to make sure I could pick up the curl cream and let her know I needed some adjustments with the bottom layer, she didn't have the curl cream (miscommunication between us) and didn't have an opening to fix my hair for a week. That felt like a long time to walk around frustrated and self-conscious about a transformation cut... but, I took it and worked with the cut. (Which now took more time to style than long, curly hair.) Then, on the morning of the fix appointment, Joanna texted early to say she needed to cancel and offered to reschedule... a week later. I offered to come any time during that day. But, she was double-booked all day. (I was going to be out of town - part of the reason I had really wanted to get it finished and be happy with it, since the events I would be going to were very picture-heavy.) I was so frustrated with her lack of commitment to me, as a customer, and with feeling like I couldn't trust her to take my experience seriously. I didn't take the next appointment offered. (It would have been 2 weeks since the original cut.) And eventually decided to find someone else to "fix" it. Joanna is super nice. I think she is likely very loyal to her longterm clients. Based on my experience, though, if you have curly hair or are looking for a very new "do", I can't suggest her. I never felt like my experience or my hair were her priority. What was a very exciting thing for me turned into something I had to have "fixed" by someone else. (Now, it's too short ... but it's not a blob on the side of my head, so that's cool.) I've paid for two haircuts. (Joanna's was the most expensive cut only + tip I've ever had). And I was too self-conscious to happily pose for pics on a really important day for our family. I really, really hate to leave a non-positive review for anybody. We all have bad days. But, this needed to be handled better and I don't want anyone else to go through it. Hair is a big deal. We need to trust the person messing with it.

I cannot recommend this salon…read more In fact, pass by with a crucifix on your way to lunch at Village Deli. Arlee behaved like absolute trash, raising her voice and making a scene in the front of the salon. I was in shock. To the point it took me a year to post this review - I just wanted to put this place in our rear view. Oreanne was unnecessarily drawn into the situation by some of the rudest, poorest management I've ever witnessed...but went out of her way to be dismissive, unkind, and unprofessional. I'll never forgive whatever woman gave her the thumbs up on my FB group which is what initially led me to this establishment. Neither stylist went by the photo I'd given, and then managed to blame me in the end saying it was not possible with our daughter's hair color. Aside from the fact that we've since proven it was, elsewhere - how about say that first instead of nodding and starting in. (The assistant manager at the time, and only reasonable stylist there - I think she may have left now - said she'd have offered an alternative photo if she didn't feel it was achievable.) I let it go the first time and didn't complain, but the second time, after we'd dropped over $600 total for a look we never got, I felt I had to say something, and my gawd...the response. This salon acted like a bag of hissing cats that charges top dollar for poor execution and back woods diva behavior. Stay. Away. No one needs this in their life.

I always get the same colorist because I guess she's the most junior and doesn't get booked up…read moremuch. Can be a bit condescending and tardy. Not sure what the deal is. I help her pay her bills? She does a good job though. The management here asks her to bring her own blow dryer with her. That's just unreal. What kind of employer doesn't provide any tools to their employee? Even contractors in the corporate world get a notebook computer from the corporation who contracts with them (to use for as long as they're a 1099 there). Overall, I'm satisfied but I get the faint feeling of dissatisfaction whenever I'm here. Not sure what it is that makes me a bit uncomfortable to be here. I guess I don't feel warmly welcomed.
