Wow. Great fun, great lighting and great service! A wonderful bowling alley.

Never...ever.....go to an arcade/restaurant to have good food. I didn't and so I was disappointed. My friends met us there for some food. He chose this place because of our 4 year old daughter. He thought she might enjoy the arcade. She might have enjoyed the arcade, but none of us enjoyed the food. Service was slow (on a Saturday evening). No refills. No follow ups. The food was bland. In our group, we ordered a burger (MEH), steak and cheese (hardly any steak), chili (that tasted like out of a can), salad (that neither could finish) and a chicken sandwich, which was OK according to my friend. Price was reasonable. So again, if you plan to just go for the food, pass it up. IT's not good. But if you plan to go to the arcade or bowl afterward, then eat and go do your fun. Because I promise you won't rave about the quality of your food. read more

We waited for ever for bowling, they put us on a lane that had too many people on the lane next to us so we couldn't even sit at our table, and their kids were running around like maniacs and we're not even bowling. The waitress Nicole was very nice and was always checking on us. We ate before we bowled. Food was so so I will suggest eating somewhere else next time. read more

Went there for a bowling party a couple weeks ago on a busy Friday night. Tons of kids running around which was expected. The staff did a good job from what I could tell. Bowling shoes were new and comfortable. The food was.. meh... We ordered a bunch of pizzas for our group. They seemed like they were frozen pizzas and tasted like it. We ordered some other appetizers and they too were just average. Seemed like everything we ordered was frozen at some point. read more

Place is a good place for a night of fun no matter with family or friends had everything from a full bar to bowling to laser tag to a arcade. Food is delicious good service kind and the laser tag was great big space. Great spot for a family night out things for the whole family to do and enjoy. read more

We arrived at Pinz at 5:30 pm and parked next to an SUV with two dogs in the back. Weather was decent and windows were cracked. We left at 8:00 and the car was still there with the dogs in n the back. The weather changed and was much warmer. I stopped back in to tell the front desk I was calling the police. The person alerted her manager who promptly moved his vehicle. Sad to think how many times this person has left his dogs in the car while covering a shift. Hard to go back with this type of employee on staff. read more

Went there last night for Mother's day. We were a party of eight. Barely anyone was there. Took my mom to play laser tag for the first time. The guy was very rude. When we entered the room to put our vests on, my mom needed help with getting hers on as well as one or two other people since it was their first time. I barely slipped it over my mom when the guy came in and said, "You guys can go in now." I said, "Hold on, my mom needs help putting her vest on." He ignored what I said and said again, "Go ahead. You guys can go now. The game has already started." I looked at him like REALLY?! We paid $8 a piece for 12 minutes and you started our game when we weren't even in there or ready?! After saying that, he didn't even care to see if we went through the doors yet, he just left and I noticed a large group waiting outside. We went in and maybe barely two song snippets played (they don't play entire songs so it's not as long as you think) and then the music shut off. We had no music for the rest of the game play so we heard each other throughout the entire arena. Afterwards, we walked out to see our scores and I heard to guy tell the big group, "Oh go on you guys! You don't have to watch the instructional video. Just go and have fun!" And he went in there with them and stayed in there for a long time before coming back out. Either they were his friends or he was being very discriminatory. (Not even about race). I have been to PINZ before this because my boyfriend will spend so much money in the arcade alone. We liked it there before this. I expect the same customer service he gave that big group after us. I pay full price just like everyone else and I don't appreciate his impatience and him starting our time when we aren't even in the arena. Spoke to the manager who offered us a free game but I no longer wanted to be a part of that. Very disappointing. I hope every else doesn't get the same guy we did and if you do, I hope he's changed. I want to start by saying that I have never, ever written a review of anything, anyone or anywhere online before. However, I was at Pinz for the very first time over the weekend, and the BARTENDER and a couple of the SERVERS at Harvey's were SO INCREDIBLY AWFUL, I felt compelled to share online so other people can avoid this experience. I was there with a group of people and we were standing near the bar, each having a drink. We must have been in the way of the wait staff, because I heard them complaining and making rude comments about where we were standing behind our backs (literally) several times, but none of the staff ever asked us to move, which we would have gladly done. It was incredibly juvenile, the way the staff were complaining about the customers. They didn't even try to hide it. When I tried to order a small round of shots from the bartender, he rolled his eyes and snapped at me, "No! We don't have the stuff here to make that." Ummm, okay... how was I supposed to know that? After I picked a different shot, the guy next to me politely asked the bartender for a another beer, and again, the bartender snapped, "Mind if I finish making these other drinks first?!" This sort behavior from the bartender and servers continued until our group of people left the bar area. I should mention that no one was drunk or acting obnoxious, so I'm not sure what the issue was. I normally tip 20% or more on a bill, and so I can't tell you how satisfying it was to leave such a crappy tip for that jerk bartender. Well deserved. The arcade was fine; definitely on the expensive side and not many games to choose from. Overall I would say it was just okay... I don't really get what all of the hype is about. If you go, definitely skip the bar- or at least watch out for the male jerk bartender with all of the tattoos on his arms. read more

We just hosted my son's eighth birthday here. He chose laser tag plus some arcade time. It honestly couldn't have been easier or have gone smoother. From the invitations and thank you cards to the party host and communication, Pinz thought of everything! The food, decorations and a fun keepsake were all included which made this a much more affordable option than most group party packages in the twin cities. As parents, it was the first party where we felt like we got to relax and enjoy it, too. My son and his friends loved the laser tag and the arcade afterwards and can't stop talking about how much fun they all had. I highly recommend Pinz for your next party and am grateful for how easy they make things on the parents! read more

Wow, we had a work event here right after our meeting. Well, it is a cross between Pinstripes and Dave & Busters. I think the bowling outweighs the video games (much smaller and not too interesting). The fact that you can do both is pretty amazing in my book. Well, we had the 10 Lane reserved and there was pizza and soda waiting for us. The pizza is actually pretty good and it was nice to have everything near you. I bowled just a game and forgot to check back for more food. My wife said there was fried pickles, cheese curds, etc. Ugghh, I can't believe I missed out on it but I was already full after 3 slices of pizza. Oh well, I got to have fun bowling:) I checked later and found out that Pinz charges by the hour and actually a little pricier than other bowling places according my co-workers. However, I think the fact it has a private bowling room is a major plus. After we left, we saw the other lanes which were super busy with people running back and forth to get food and shoes. It's kinda nice to be able to have everything in your private area. Still, I think that Pinstripes has the thin crust flatbread pizza that I love. However, the wait for food and the seating area is separate makes it a drag. But, you can't deny that there is the draw with the bocce/lawn bowling that you don't get anywhere else with Pinstripes. So, you decide... Personally, Pinz is close enough for us that I would take that over the drive to Edina to Pinstripes with reservations and wait. read more

Great little bowling ally. We went there on a Thursday night for the 9-12 late night bowling special. It was a lot of fun. There weren't any servers working so it was annoying to walk across the entire bowling ally to get a drink. So we didn't really drink that much. Would recommend this place to go and have a great "old school" night of fun. read more

Went to Pinz yesterday around 1 pm (sign on door and website says they opened at 11 am) with a friend for her birthday. We were planning on having something to eat, maybe a drink or two, and play some bowling and arcade games. Went into the restaurant part and the place is dead empty like a ghost town. Sign said seat yourself so I grab us a couple of menus and some silverware and we grab a table in a visible area where hopefully someone would come and see they had customers. Not the case at all. There did appear to be one employee who walked through the opposite side of the restaurant quickly 3 times, but never once acknowledged us or said sorry, I'm trying to find a server or anything. After sitting there for what felt like forever and not even being greeted in any kind of way, we decided to take our business to Big Thrill Factory down off of 10th street in Oakdale. It's a bit smaller but their customer service was spot on and we had a really fun time. I don't think I will be back to Pinz any time soon nor will I recommend this place to anyone looking for entertainment. Very disappointing but luckily there are other places nearby where you can actually enjoy yourself. read more

Harvey's Restaurant has a pretty decent atmosphere, good food and good service. Don't be concerned that when you walk in, it looks like a Chucky Cheese's. They've done a good job separating the restaurant from the rest of the fun and games, so all of the possible noise from the kids, and the bells and whistles of the machines are barely noticed. Plenty off appetizers to choose from, great selection of sandwiches, wraps and burgers, along with made to order pizzas.... something for pretty much everyone. Good amount of beers on tap and a pretty good happy hour too. read more

Went on Saturday night. The wait was 1.5 hrs for one lane, so my group decided to eat in the restaurant. The service in there was terrible. Waitress only took our order and never saw her again until we had to flag her down for the check. My food was 10 MN later then everyone else's I was with and I never got an apology and once again waitress didn't ever make sure it was even correct. No water refills even. Everyone in the restaurant working looks to be about 16-18 years old and have no clue what customer service is. Other then that, the people at the front desk are rude and when we turned in our pager, the girl just took it, said nothing and started getting our shoes. Never actually said anything, I guess that's too much work after we stood there for ten minutes not being acknowledged what so ever. Bowling was fine. This place has zero customer service and is over priced. read more

Just wanted to send a huge thank you to the staff and team members at Pinz/Harvey's. Recently my friends and I started off a bachelor party celebration at their location and the staff was so amazing and nice to us. We had a blast for hours playing numberous amouts of all the latest arcade games, running around the 2 story lazer tag room and of course endulging in several delicious shots and food menu items from the bar at Harvey's. The staff was all too amazing and kind to us! Thank you all for your generosity and hospitality so so much. We will all be back to enjoy life a little more thanks to this staff!! Very fun bowling Alley and Arcade. Excellent food, and specials. The lane oil conditions vary quite a bit, but still fun! The staff and management are AMAZING and make up for anything this place may lack! Took my nephews and step son here the day after New Years before they had to go back to school. Bought unlimited Lazer tag for the boys and the gal was nice enough to answer all my questions. I didn't have any issues up until later. In any case I decided grab an adult drink from the bar later on and I had asked for an olive in my drink, the bartender rudely made a comment wondering why I would add an olive in my drink. I ignored it and moved on. After a few hours of arcade and laser tag we decided to do the all you can bowl special to end the night. We got our lane and the bowling staff did not bother to clean the lanes before assigning it to us. We arrived at the lane to a table full of chalk. It was pretty excessive amounts. We buzzed for the wait staff to order food and clean our table but no one showed up and when they finally did they went to help the people sitting at the tables behind our lane instead (these were the regulars that left a mess on our lane). They grabbed their orders and did not even bother to come to our lane. I had to walk up to the front and place my order and request for someone to clean our table as we were planning to eat. I spoke with the rude bartender again and asked about the food specials which were suppose to start at 9pm on the website. The bartender tells me it does not start until 9:30. By 9:30 none of the wait staff cared to stop by our lane to place orders. I finally went back up to the bar and placed an order for food. 45 mins later we finally got our food and went on with our night. The staff here really need to make themselves more available to the customers. I spent a lot of money here and to get treated like this was in my opinion a poor customer experience. I wouldn't even give it a 1 star but only did because of the nice gal that helped with lazertag. read more

I love this place for the 'Peppercorn Blue Burger' alone. I get it every time I've gone and haven't yet been disappointed. The burgers are huge, juicy, and full of flavor. The seasoned fries are delicious too. I've tried the bowling too, which is kind of pricey but always fun. In the end though, I'm a fan of their burgers and would recommend for any burger lovers out there. read more

The bowling shoes at Pinz are the worst ever. Nice and smooth and slippery on the ball of the foot, but the heel is made of rubber and makes your foot suddenly stick/stop right as you are releasing the ball. My husband and I almost fell on our faces more than once. Then we both gave up on the shoes and bowled in our socks. Definitely something wrong with the design of their bowling shoes. We will not be going back. read more

First off the cost is WAY high for bowling. My husband and I brought our two young kids and for an hour on the lane (one game) it cost us over $50 and for the second, a giant move screen played rapper video's with women's boobs hanging out. It's a SUNDAY afternoon with ton's of kids. We wont be back. read more

I just came back from attending my nephews birthday party.. The basic party was nice and the laser tag was the highlight. Although I was very very disappointed in the staff helping my son with his 'prize' selection and the overall arcade/ticket experience. The children receiving swipe cards were not informed that some of the games were not ticket bearing. When cashing in the electronic tickets the staff member working with us was extremely disrespectful when I asked about why his ticket count did not increase after adding additional money on his swipe card. At that point in an unfriendly, disrespectful manor he abruptly informed me "Well you must not have played on a game that gives out tickets". Having never been there and not having clear instructions by the staff when the cards were distributed I was quite upset with the tone. Then in front of me gesturing to his co-worker I snapped back "I guess not". I own a business and would not tolerate that type of attitude and disrespect to our clients. I debated whether to bring this to managements attention but opted for the social media route. My son is 5 right in the realm of birthday parties. I would not endorse this establishment I would suggest management educate their employees on proper customer service etiquette also to be clear about how the swipe cards work. I feel bad for the kid who is expecting some kind toy as their 'winnings' only to realized the didn't play any of the games that earned them the penny anti Oriental Trading Company trinket that at that age they so enjoy. read more

The service at this location was seriously lacking when I was there on a weekday between Christmas and New Years in 2015. In evaluating the 6 staff that I encountered in our less than two hour visit, only one truly gave adequate service. Both of the staff working the counter to reserve shoes/lanes were apathetic, at best. This was our first visit and my attempts at finding answers to the simplest things - are there lanes available, where do I get arcade credits, can I have a menu - garnered shoulder shrugs and slow, hesitant responses from the two staff. Once in our lane, which turned out to be in their premium, lounge style room (which was not explained before purchase, despite its higher hourly charge), we spent the first half hour trying to bowl while also looking for a server. I only saw one server come in and out of the room a couple times. Most of the lanes were full and the room should have had multiple servers available. Eventually, I spoke with a manager about the lack of service. She listened but offered nothing other than an apology. When I finally found a server, the manager was also speaking with him. It is unfortunate that she didn't offer to help facilitate that when I was speaking to her. We ended the visit with my son wishing to cash out his arcade tickets, where he waited as the only child at the prize counter while those two staff finished their personal conversation before offering to help him. The venue itself has a lot going for it - nice variety in the reasonably priced arcade, upscale menu compared to a typical bowling alley (the cheese curds were really good), and the 10 Alley lounge room was very nice (a little quieter, more spacious and comfortable) - but without even decent service, it is not worth the price. read more

I am writing this review in regards to a situation me and my friends encountered on Sunday evening at 10:00 P.M. when we came into Pinz for the Sunday $5 all you can bowl special. Everything started out great, we arrived at about 9:30 and played some arcade games and laser tag. At 10:00 we went to go get our lane. It was a pretty slow night last Sunday. There were about 4 open lanes on each side of us. We had a group of 5 people. We politely asked the employee working the desk if he would be able to open a lane next to us so we could split our group in half and be able to bowl more. The employee very rudely said that its not possible, even though there were about 8 free lanes around us. We then offered to pay the additional $5 fee for a bowler so we would have paid for 6 people, if he would be able to open another lane for us then. Again, we were responded to with a rude comment from the employee. Trying to avoid additional encounters with the rude staff for the night, we continued to bowl through the night, only able to get about 2.5 games done. When we looked up at our time remaining, it showed 3 minutes. We looked at the time and it showed 11:49 PM. The time remaining would only give us until 11:52. We went to the counter to ask if they would please add more time so we can try to finish our 3rd game. A different employee than the first encounter stated that wasn't possible because they close at 12. I explained to him that our time was over at 11:52, not midnight, and he continually refused to give us more time to finish our game. I am very disappointed in the customer service my group received. I paid to go bowling until midnight. Not until 11:52. It seems as if the employees don't care about us customers. I will not be returning to this business anytime soon. read more

I would go to Pinz probably once or twice a month, probably spending $100+ with each visit, a pretty avid bowler...not very good but really enjoy the activity. I recently saw a post on here that really tarnished a bartender named Chris and I later found out through other Pinz employees that Chris was recently fired over those remarks. One of the things that I enjoyed most at Pinz was conversing with Chris, when he was working. I would even ask for him by name if I didn't see him right away, because he was far and away the most personable employee I came to know at Pinz. The service and respect I got from him was always top notch, and there was never a time where I didn't see fellow patrons laughing and smiling when interacting with him too. I think it says alot about management for them to let go an employee with the dynamic and service industry skills that Chris seemed to exemplify. Maybe he did have an "off night" as the other poster put it, but who doesn't? I haven't been back to Pinz since hearing that I wouldn't run into Chris again. I can't justify giving further business to a company whose management team would be so quick disrespect and dismiss one of their own in this way. SunRay Lanes is 5 minutes away and less expensive - I came to Pinz for the service, specifically the service I got from Chris. I don't imagine management will take this post as seriously as they did the post that knocked Chris. Pinz lost a loyal employee and customer this month. We came here for our good friends Cancer Free party. He had just beat his 5 year battle against leukemia. This was one of his favorite places and we thought it would be a good place to have the surprise party. Another one of his favorite things is 5 guys burgers so what a petter plan then too have 5 guys burgers and bowl! Apparently the staff at pins strongly disagreed. To make sure this all went as planned we called ahead. We talked to an employee who identified himself as Tyler. We told him our circumstance and plan and he rudely turned us down! I guess that don't like outside food to come in but considering the circumstances we thought maybe they would let us. But NO it was just the biggest deal in the world. We were treated very rudely over the phone and weren't even given a chance to talk. It was Incredibly disappointing and were upset to be treated so rudely. We are for sure never going back. read more
