He started working right after we got approval for the new location of the panel and meter, to have certain clearance on all sides of the panel. Haik has worked on two different projects (one small scale one that is already finished, and another bigger one on an outdoor electrical panel upgrade), and he has been phenomenal! I'm really surprised there aren't more reviews for Haik, but I'm guessing that's not his base clientele. I ended up choosing him over a company with more reviews because he was 1) responsive, 2) experienced, and 3) the owner of the business. He IS the owner of the business and the main contact, so it was comforting knowingly that he personally cared about my home and issues, versus an office secretary managing a bunch of electricians. His English over text shows it's his second language, but talking over phone and in person his English was perfect. He's a really nice guy. He was super responsive, in spite of being so busy. He does a lot of panel installations, but manages it very well. He is crazy experienced, but is on the wind-down phase of his electrical career. That's perfect for smaller customers (he used to do larger clients, like schools and Paramount Studios), which means we get a lot of experience in each repair or install. Haik did an excellent job installing a sub panel for the kitchen remodeler to use for the kitchen circuits. He is a master electrician and a wonderful teacher besides. His detailed written quote was fair, and he was willing to explain everything, both before and during the install. After installing the sub panel he then went above and beyond and reordered the wiring in the main panel, which previous electricians had left in such a mess that it was very difficult to do anything in. After 2 days trying to find an honest and fair electrician I found Pioneer Electric and they restored my faith in mankind. I am not joking I need a exterior junction box install 5 feet from the electrical panel to support 2 new tankless water heaters. Timing was critical, if they did not arrive before the plumber I would have to reschedule everyone, including the electrician, plumber gas co all over again. I go the most outrageous replies from electricians. One guy quoted me $235, I hired him then he told me it was really going to cost $500, which included disconnecting the existing 50 gallon hot water tank. Which is not even electric, and the pilot light is a simple switch off. He assured me that this was a really fair price. Another electrician told me he would do the work for $250, then also said later that it would have to be $450, and that the materials would be $100 out of pocket (electrical materials are really not expensive). Lastly he threatened that if I did not hire him that my house would burn down! The 3rd electrician pitched himself and a helpful father type, saying how electricians sometimes flake. So I asked his price... only $1050! Outrageous! THANK GOD I FOUND PIONEER ELECTRIC IN TIME. Mike showed up on time gave me the right price $350, worked for 2.5 hours and left. The next day he called to confirm we were all set, and later in the day when the plumber was having difficulty connecting the power to the water heaters, I called Mike. He came out the next morning connected the water heaters and did not charge a penny more. Honestly what a fantastic experience after such a bad start with other deceitful businesses. read more
