I had an issue with flickering power in one room and thought it could be a fire hazard. I sent three requests for electricians to come take a look. One couldn't come out for almost two weeks, one never responded, and one was Flash Gordon Electric. Lonny from Flash Gordon was able to come out the next day. He is very friendly and personable. He tested several outlets and wires including fixing a couple of weirdly wired outlets. He also replaced half a dozen of the old (pre-1990) outlets including a couple outlets that were original to the 1970s when room was added. It was affordable and done in under two hours. We had a couple smaller electrical repairs and projects that we needed help with - a busted bathroom outlet, a new porch light installed due to faulty old wiring, and a new outlet for an electric dryer. Lonny was recommended by a competitor. I sent him a text and he responded that day. We set a time for him to come over the next week to see what needed to be done. Lonny came by and checked out all my projects. He let me know how much the repairs would be and about how long he thought they would take. He talked about the work required and estimated cost to add the additional outlet for the dryer, and we both agreed financially it didn't make sense for us - no pressure whatsoever to move forward. He also gave me some great advice on things we could do around the house on our own to help lower not only our electric bill but our our gas bill as well! On the actual day of the repairs, Lonny came by when he said he would with his associate Pete and they an excellent job. The outlet they replaced looked better than the original one that was there. The porch light installation took them longer than expected because the original light was installed in a really hack way, so they made sure to do it right this time. I have an old house , so over the years I have gone through quite a couple electricians. They are either super unreliable, over charge, or just do sloppy work. I had an outlet explode to where it melted the outlet plate and a previous electrician just changed out the outlet plate and said it's not a big deal, "for now", and that the outlet would hold. I asked him if he could just fix whatever needed to be fixed so I didn't have to worry about it and he said he was rushing to another job and that he would call me to reschedule. Of course, I never heard from him again and when I tried calling I never got a phone call back. I still felt nervous and I didn't feel comfortable with his decision at all. So I called Flash Gordon to come take a second look. He was kind and courteous and he came on time. We called Lonny for three issues which I'll address in my review: 1. Dead outdoor outlets -- Another electrician told us we needed to rip open our walls before he could even begin to assess what the problem might be. Lonny came and within 40 minutes had diagnosed the problem without reaching into his toolbag. 2. Wiring electricity to the fountain in our garden -- No problem for Lonny. The job required rewiring through our stone grill, but Lonny was both surgical and methodical, and the result is outstanding. 3. Buzzing overhead lights -- A delightful parting gift from the previous owner, we still can't figure this one out. Lonny said he needed to do some more research and get back to us. I skeptically assumed once we paid him, we'd never hear from him again, but he got back to us a week later and told us it might be a bad ballast that would need to be cut out and replaced. But he also was honest in saying that he was uncertain if that would fix our issue. He could have been dishonest and recommended just cutting our ceiling open ... then charging us on an on-going basis as he fumbled around trying to fix the problem. So we're 2 for 3, but we know we got honest, reliable service. read more

He text me with places to look so that I did not have to incur a service fee. Of course, I have one of those old houses where the transformer is in none of the usual places.
