Love stopping by to see what's new ... produce, plants or miscellaneous merchandize -- they've always got what you need!

I like Kroger's a lot. It's even better because I live within walking distance to it, but even if I…read moredidn't I'd still probably come here because Kroger's carries quite a few items that you typically won't find in 'other' grocery stores. Well, not in this area at least. They also have a decent ethnic aisle (ok, not a whole aisle but it'll do). It's annoying to see people park directly in front of the store. If you don't want to park in a regular parking lot, there's that whole 15 minute area along the curb. But it's not Kroger's fault for inconsiderate people. I was stoked when they opened their gas station. I would probably say it's the most convenient gas station this side of town, easy to get in and out of and close to the interstate. The guy that works late there is interesting though. I used to think he was nice, now I don't know if he's just socially awkward or just flat out rude on purpose. I will give him the benefit of the doubt by just assuming he's going through some stuff. Regardless, I no longer go up to the window if he's working there. Lastly, thank you Kroger's for closing at midnight. I work late every night, I swear I don't pop in last minute just to annoy you all. At least my visits are only 5 minutes tops!

I've been shopping here for about 15 years. In the last 5 years there's been a hard decline in…read moreservice and atmosphere. The sidewalks directly outside are constantly occupied by vagrants and drug addicts. Inside the store is often similar. There are a few great employees, but there are SEVERAL that act as if you're an inconvenience, especially when ringing up and bagging. Particularly, an old lady cashier and a young girl bagger. They're the dynamic duo of "don't shop here". The "pick-up shoppers" that roam the aisles with their carts, constantly block aisles and remain oblivious to this fact. It's difficult to navigate the store with these people shopping for 6 lazy people at once. Additionally, going in and out of the store is an experience of a swap-meet. People are always sitting there with their tables for "Save the Kittens of Mozambique" or "Donate for Underwater Basket Weaving". They will not miss the opportunity to try to hustle a dollar out of you. This setting occurs about 2/3 visits. Too much. Too close to the door. Leave me alone. I'd love to just shop in peace and have a cashier that might occasionally say "Hello" or interact in any way with the customer and a bagger that actually places the bags in the cart and not on the counter and doesn't look and act stoned out of her mind. Oh, also... turn down the volume on the U-scans. Jesus Christ. As a result of these things, I now shop at Food City for 90% of my needs and it's 3 minutes down the same road.
